On May 9th, 2015, I embarked on my second ever 100k adventure. For years, I have looked up in awe to all of those individuals who have toed the line at the Western States 100 Endurance Run. It was finally time to attempt to qualify for myself.
"Qualifier" is my story of running and completing the Quicksilver 100k, one of many qualifying races for the 2016 Western States 100. While it by no means guarantees me entry into the illustrious race, it at least gets me one step closer to toeing the line. I look forward to the lottery this fall.

Ran a 1/2 marathon at almaden last weekend. Cool to recognize a couple spots from his video. I signed up for the 9 mile but missed the turnaround, so did the 1/2, and that kicked my ass. Unbelievable these folks tough it out for 60 miles.
Congrats Ethan, I know that has been a dream of yours for quite some time. Enjoy it! Not to mention another great film, good motivation for me to get out there tomorrow morning!

I wanted to let you know that my favorite parts of your films are when you are just talking to the camera during the race and letting us know how you are doing and how you continue to keep pushing. While I appreciate the CRAZY AWESOME fancy effects that you have put into your more recent videos, I really watch your videos for the simple scenes when it is just you talking because of your awesome personality. So rapping things up, I watch your videos because I really like your personality and who you are as a person regardless of how fancy the video editing is. Wow Ethan. Really enjoyed this one. I live up by Auburn and the WS Trails but I was raised in San Jose and ran and rode all those hills you ran in this race. Dog Meat aka 3rd gate was a mofo. Used to use it as a training hill. Well done. Your videos are great.

Hey Ethan, couldnt help but notice the joy, composure, confidence and security you ran this 100k with. Question: with your well talked about anxiety and mental struggles, I wonder if you were hiding those back then or if they've manifested more recent? Was there an ignition point? I suppose id encourage you to remind yourself you ARE the Ethan in these videos that encourage so many others. I love this video and long for the return of future races of yours.
