Thanks! This is a very fair assessment! I also own the HT and looking on the internet, there seem to be many problems with this wheel. I am now well over 1700km and no problems so far. Mud, rain or sun. I weigh 120kg all in and have yet to experience overheating on this wheel! Even in 38C weather!
Amazing review Scott! I have my V12HT for 1,5 year almost 6000km on the clock. The wheel never let me down and it is still rock solid. It makes no sounds at all - awesome. I also really like the tire and the llifespan of the tire is insane. Mine is still like new and I know people with 16 000 km on the clock with original tire and no maintenance at all. This wheel just scream squality and these days the price of tis beast is very nice :). It is very practical and well thought out. If you want practical wheel with almost no maintenance this one is the best.
Scott, you nailed it 💯% a fantastic review, as always!!! coming from a snowboarding and e-skate background this review has cemented my decision and will be purchasing this wheel as my first, and I am looking forward to a new mode of transportation and fun😁
The v12 has been on my radar since it came out, I’m SO READY to showcase a EUC like this and try out a totally new PEV! Great video and love that intro haha😂
⚡ *That gear edit was awesome!* Made me think of Shazam (OG Capt Marvel) immediately ⚡ You gotta do another one and say Shazam on the week Shazam 2 comes out 😂 with Shazam in the tag lol. 8 speakers, I will call it 7.1 surround sound 🤣 Great review mate ⚡⚡
Great review Scotty! Absolutely love my V12 HT, but would awesome if it had a tubeless setup like the Abrams to avoid any pinched tubes or damaged valve stems. 👌
Really like your reviews Scott, your enthusiasm for this sport/hobby comes across true. So we're the same weight, and I live in a 50km long city all on a hill. My biggest question is if the extra torque of the HT will really be worth not having the extra speed headroom of the HS if I want to cruise across town (not up the hill) at an average of 58kph? I'm not a speed demon, but I need to be able to safely crank it up to that speed at times without risk of cutout.
Awesome video Scott a couple things the V12 only has 4 speakers 2 front 2 rear and the touch screen lag is to to with the screen itself not the firmware the best way to manage the screen is to hold your finger on it before swiping unlike a phone digitzer like you said it's is just ok this will be improved in future models. Bloody awesome wheel highly recommend it 🤩.
Good to know about the screen, As for the speakers not sure if mine is a early model but I’ve had my apart and it’s 4 foot and 4 rear (two on each side ) encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTxLr7jOk1fi5Vaf7h_MZrj_LvsRu9Rweb6CA&usqp=CAU Cheers Scott
@@scottdaviesyoutube oh you think you see 8 as it looks like there is 2 sides to a speaker 😉 they only have 4 hence there is 4 connectors to the driver board 😘 totally looks like 8 thou as they look double sided.
Man I hate to get details wrong, but I love to learn as well, I’ve looked at maybe 8 v12s internally and never noticed 1 side is flat and one is con-caved, guess it’s like to create some bass, Thanks for the info and teaching me something new 😬
Newb question for first EUC. I see below you suggest V12 over T4 so that question is answered. Also why it should be non suspension ideally, I get that. So in that case, the most closest EUC I see is thus the 16x. My use would be commuting, shopping, other errands on bikeways, footpaths, some road, with some footpaths really quite bumpy for several hundred meters otherwise decent enough surface. My commute is 15 to 16 km each way. I have no interest in going fast. Which would you suggest? Or would a ks S16 or s16Pro be okay/better considering I do have some horrid bumps on my commute?
Thanks Steve, yea once you get the basics down, it’s a fun PEV to ride, As for the side to side wobble, the Ht gets very very little. On my HS I got a lot at the 40 mark, this one has no issue I can only guess it’s to do with the heavier motor maybe. Only time I get side to side or speed wobble is if I do a really hard brake, but even then it’s very controllable Cheers Scott
So I've been told by the owner of US's biggest distributer, that the HS has the same rim just not painted orange. I mean the right paint can add a certain degree of reinforcement (like paint on our walls), but you've had your hands on both rims so what's your take?
100% different, we have lined the two rims up side by side and and you can physically see a difference in width, Also once removed form the motor the HT rim is heavier Mine is batch one so there is always a chance they changed but I doubt it as it was a key selling point for them
Nice video, new rider with a V12HT, can you tell me what the “balance assist “ mode does? I honestly can’t tell the difference. I find the “off road “ mode seems to work better for me. Also what settings are you using? We weigh about the same, I am learning with about 30 psi tire pressure. In your off road use what tire pressure are you using. The tire seems to be pretty stiff side walls. Thanks for the video, might be better without the music.
Balance assist Is frequently misunderstood feature, it actually has nothing to do with riding but makes putting it on its stand easier, so when you engage the lift switch and lean it back it simply adds a little extra friction. I run my tyre at 27psi, any higher and it feels horrible and out of control. And yea off-road mode is the best and I recommend it always !! Cheers Scott
I quite like this wheel but was surprised you didn't mention the cut out issues that people have had. I've heard this wheel doesn't do battery balancing either. I'm also not keen on the rear light - for those of us that ride on the road it's a shame that manufactures treat the rear light as an ornament,
Hi mate, thanks for the comment. The cut out issue was the HS which inmotion instantly shipped new main boards. as far as I know. As for balancing it does, at the end of the charge you just need to leave it plugged in, for a little longer. Not sure what you mean about the brake light you can explain ? Cheers Scott
@@scottdaviesyoutube I appreciate the V12 has a brake light but it just doesn't seem very visible - that's not particular to the V12 but to almost all EUCs. I think you're right (and I'm wrong) about the balancing - I'm not sure where I heard it said that it didn't do balancing. The cut out issue seems to be happening for some riders even with the new boards but I guess time will tell. Thanks for responding. Enjoy your V12!
Man I LOVE the T4 but until they up their waterproofing it’s a pass from me. I need to know I can ride through a puddle and not have a board issue later that day 😢 If they could find a way to waterproof the T4 in my opinion it would be the best 16” wheel on the market
The T4 (v2) is a heap of fun, Especially with the new QS motor & off-road tyre it handles well, Torque for days and the suspension is nice. Wish it was spring rather than air it’s annoying when you go to ride and the suspension needs pumping up. But yea if they added some additional waterproofing it would go from great to awesome 👏🏻
@@scottdaviesyoutube Had that with a Begode Master.. one off road ride over puddles and mud.. later that day the motherboard blown up.. FF two months later and im the happy owner of a v12 HT
Is there a quick way to turn on or off the lights? and between low and high? or you need to go into the menu? Just picked up a v12ht as my first EUC also which trails are these?
Hi for the coloured ones you need to use menu or app, For the headlight you can just tap the power button for on, low or high, The place is awesome it’s called Scribby Gums reserve !! Cheers Scott
@@scottdaviesyoutube Ahh brilliant, couldn't find it in the manual or anywhere online, just tap the power button for low or high 👍 Will check out Scribby Gums once I learn to ride
EUCs terrify me. I don't think I'd feel comfortable standing forward, very different to a skateboard. Would be keen to try one day though. Btw Scott, did you end up doing that giveaway for the Tynee Explorer?
1st wheel I'd recommend the v12 over the T4, unless you have knee problems. I think it's important when you're new to get more accurate feedback from the road/terrain. I have an S22 but started on the 18XL, love em both but really glad I started on a non suspension wheel. Also you're gonna dump it, maybe a lot, you'll have parts flying off the T4 like a pinata. A wheel with covers that can be replaced (if needed), then inner and outer shells hold up really well to newbie abuse in my experience.
I like my V12 HT. I was here for the soundtrack. 👍🏾

Is it true that the hs range is greater than the ht?
Yea it would make sense the HS will draw a little less power and will return slightly more range my guess is 5-10%
