Hey great video! Just wondering why you chose the v12 instead of a wheel with suspension? Trying to game plan my next wheel purchase, right now loving the Ninebot Z10.
New ECU but Experienced OW’er from 🇨🇦. Looking to make the change. I’m 70% pavement and 30% dirt trials. Small jumping but not a big drop guy! Cruising and speed and fair weather. Onewheel flow is awesome but 6 nosedives later that’s getting old and always around 30kph PLUS! 🤕🩹❤️🩹 Not sold on inmotion but build seems strong and in 🇨🇦. The v11 shock and wheel size seems good but lack of speed seems an issue. I’d like to cruise at 40-50kph and rip up once and awhile. The v12 wheel size seems to concern everyone but I’m cruising now at 30kph on a 6”? I’m feeling 16” would be smooth and less risky? Thoughts anyone?
Nice video but it did seem a little unfair not to mention you were comparing the V12 against the old model Nikola 84v rather than the new Nikola Plus. Both Nikola models do allow the case to be used as a stand. You mention safety as one of your main criteria but then glossed over how the V12 brakes more slowly than the Nikola- it would be interesting to see how much distance all these wheels take to slow from a given speed. I do prefer the more scratch proof case on the V12 and the adjustable pedals.
Nice review as always. I bought my 1st EUC like yours the GW Nikola 84V 1600wh. I'm thinking of buying the Inmotion V12. What's the pads you using on your Nikola and the V12. Where to buy from?
Nice review ! I can't wait to get to ride this wheel but I was wondering how far can you get with it while riding at 40/55 kph ? Weight around 87kg. Also you said that's the stock charger is very slow that's a bummer for me is there a solution to make it quicker? Did Inmotion will come with a fast charger in the future patch of this wheel?
Hey Jimmy, great review. I started with the Inmotion V10 as my first wheel and now that im a more experienced rider I crave a little more speed. My question is, the V10 will kick you off if you aggressively lean to far at the start of a ride. I constantly have this happen on take offs…..it’s annoying actually but understand the safety of it. Can I expect the same thing with the V12?
Great review, as always! Is the V12 the high torque or high speed that you bought? I heard this is a good unit to learn on. Do you know if this is true? I have no experience on a unicycle but want to learn or do you recommend others?
Hello Jimmy, thanks for you channel ;). Got a question, is the range really as much as 70 Miles and do you know how tiring it would be to ride for that much? I never had a unicycle but I'm thinking to travel from Jakarta to Bali (1000km+) with either a good Electric Scooter or Unicycle, any recommendations?
The only middle of the road wheel for me. I am getting the HT. For low end I like the Mten and MCM5 v2 and v8S and for the high end (size) I like the Abrams (altho thats the one I have not tried, I love the monster and sherman). Safest wheels I ever had was my V10 and V10F. Something about them just feels like they designed the hardware to be more powerful than software allows, but not in the same way as Kingsong where it feels limiting.
@Jimmy Chang Hi Jimmy, I have the V12 and I absolutely love the wheel!! I use Clark pads on mine and kept the pedal height at the highest as i love to carve a lot. I usually cruise 35-38 mph with no wobbles at all. The fastest I went on it was 62 Km. (38.5mph) Do you know if there is a way to change it to MPH?? In the app or wheel? Btw ...I also notice the breaking is on the softer side too. It helps to bend your knees more and lean back at the same time.
Five months on, I’d be interested to learn whether you (and your wife and family) still consider the V12 as a ‘safe’ wheel? It doesn’t seem to have a great safety record now?
It's a bummer they had a batch with a high failure rate. I'm glad they isolated the problem and hopefully that gets resolved. I still love mine and it's my favorite ride.
We should be receiving new control boards within the next couple of weeks to remedy that issue. Unfortunately the Chinese Covid situation really slowed down the process, but it's now In-motion.
@@Miguel-ve1lh I received my board a week ago and will be installing it today. Some people have reported negative results after replacement with the new board, although my hopes are the majority of those situations are due to error on the side of the technician who performed the replacement. I believe those who's replacement went well are less likely to create a post about it, consequently there may be a discrepancy in the numbers reporting negative results.
Hey JImmy. Watching your videos made me want to buy an EUC. I don't know if I should get the gotway ex.n high torque or the inmotion v12. I live in California. Do you know a place where I can actually go in and see these? What do you suggest. I am not interested in top speed. I prefer more performance and torque for fast stops, inner city, trail riding. I am willing to throw top dollar as I do not want to but a beginner wheel then have to purchase a better one later. I would rather get the best I can then learn to ride this wheel and not feel buyers remorse.
A few Questions... Is this wheel also good as a first wheel with zero experience? And what is the best place to order in Europe? Thank you and really enjoy your video's
Jimmy, how do you find the weight of the V12? From what I read, it really is a heavy thing. I’m trying to decide between the V11 and the V12. I like the INMOTION quality and safety, and like you, I just like cruising around, I’m not interested in extreme speed or range. Anyway, nice vid as always….many thanks!
I have the V11 and really enjoy it. Had the V10 and V8 before it. V12 is more powerful and probably more nimble, but the V11 actually has very good handling once you get used to the floaty ride. It really comes down to whether you want suspension or not. I think for cruising the bigger wheel with suspension is a lot more comfortable. Does good on dirt trails too. Just don't expect insane torque or super steep hill climbing. For that you're better off getting the V12. Also the V11 doesn't have RGB lights or music speakers, if you care about that stuff. Headlight on the V11 is the best there is on any EUC though.
Everything looks good in this wheel ! But putting in the personal detail to get it started is not comfortable, plus when you wanted to sell the wheel in future might cause a problem due to the App .
Congrats Jimmy! Some people have reported experiencing that the V12 feels like it has a minor suspension system even though it doesn't. Did you feel that way too?
Braking power is better in the Nikola and Kingsong. Accelerating torque is great but breaking torque needs improvement. Still hoping they fix this with an update.
Power Pads???... I eliminated wheel wobble and allowed my legs to grip and better control my (MSX) EUC by cutting 2 lengths from a foam swimming noodle, then cut down the centre to the desired "D" shape cross-section width, and fit horizontally as high up the sides of EUC as possible. Costs almost nothing and is a custom fit to suit the rider. Who needs power pads, when you can have Noodle Bars!
Hi Jimmy, thanks for all the work you put into sharing euc info. I'm also a conservative rider and have not run into a cut-out, yet. May I ask how exactly the v12 cut-out defect will feel like, when performing the stress test? Is it the motor would suddenly halt to a complete stop while still in the 30-degree acceleration mode? FWIW, I tried to perform the same stress test on my current wheel (a different model), but it was indecisive because my different wheel emits some plastic burning smell so I had to stop the test. It was scary.
Ok I'm convinced. I'm moving on from my Onewheel. I ordered one, but I'm not getting it until October. :-( I am very interested in what power pad setup you go with as I think my riding style will be similar to yours. The Clark Pads seem popular, but I am concerned that if my feet are locked in too tight I won't be able to get them out when I fall. I hope you do a video on your eventual pad choice.
Congrats! You can velcro on the power pads and adjust the height to your liking. I don't like to be too locked in, just in case I need to bail. I had some Clark Pads ordered but they got lost in the mail room... Having to order another set.
@@freshlycharged don't think this was a proper speed test, and I've been 41mph on the V12 without wheel speed correction(not sure if is needed on V12). Also been 43mph on my Nikola, video doesn't settle the question imo: what is the fastest 16 inch wheel?
I never got to see the preproduction model first hand so I can't compare. I will say that I rode it the other night and the lights are pretty good. Not as great as the V12, but they do the job.
V12 too heavy for new user ? I’m not a fan of getting a cheaper wheel, either I’m going to love it and need a better wheel or I shouldn’t get one. I’ve just heard heavier is hard to learn
@Jordan I’m referring to the Kingsong app which doesn’t have a map, and won’t let you adjust basic settings like warnings or tilt back without access to WiFi or cell data. That makes no sense.
The nikola 100v can do 42mph, how fast is the v12?
It says 43 mph after you unlock it, but I'm not going to be doing any top speed tests.

Btw ...I also notice the breaking is on the softer side too. It helps to bend your knees more and lean back at the same time.
Does it feel stable?
How did you get it?
Five months on, I’d be interested to learn whether you (and your wife and family) still consider the V12 as a ‘safe’ wheel? It doesn’t seem to have a great safety record now?
It's a bummer they had a batch with a high failure rate. I'm glad they isolated the problem and hopefully that gets resolved. I still love mine and it's my favorite ride.
It's still a great wheel
We should be receiving new control boards within the next couple of weeks to remedy that issue. Unfortunately the Chinese Covid situation really slowed down the process, but it's now In-motion.
@@jodybeeson6473 whats the word? People are saying to hold off 🥲
@@Miguel-ve1lh I received my board a week ago and will be installing it today.
Get the high torque they're nutty
What did you go with? 👌
A few Questions... Is this wheel also good as a first wheel with zero experience? And what is the best place to order in Europe? Thank you and really enjoy your video's
No.
Hey Jimmy Have you already changed the new board? .. how is your V12 going now
Jimmy, how do you find the weight of the V12?
Passcode is optional, and obviously you reset everything before selling
Congrats Jimmy! Some people have reported experiencing that the V12 feels like it has a minor suspension system even though it doesn't. Did you feel that way too?
No. It's comfortable on drops but no suspension. Those reporting what you are describing may need to check their tire pressures. ;)
Compared to your old Kingsong S16, how would you say the brakes are?
Braking power is better in the Nikola and Kingsong. Accelerating torque is great but breaking torque needs improvement. Still hoping they fix this with an update.
Would you still recommend this as a first wheel?
@@freshlycharged Gen3 or Gen2 ?
pretty sure the 100V Nikola would go faster(before cutout), specially the AR, but haven't tested. nice vid, enjoy!
We need you to test them!
@@freshlycharged I'd rather watch XD
Wrong
@@ZenLee then you can watch this... th-cam.com/video/3W636gx81u8/w-d-xo.html
@@freshlycharged don't think this was a proper speed test, and I've been 41mph on the V12 without wheel speed correction(not sure if is needed on V12). Also been 43mph on my Nikola, video doesn't settle the question imo: what is the fastest 16 inch wheel?
You mentioned the lights not very strong? Were they not supposed to have 80 percent increase from the pre model?
I never got to see the preproduction model first hand so I can't compare. I will say that I rode it the other night and the lights are pretty good. Not as great as the V12, but they do the job.
@@freshlycharged *v11!? Which the V11 has probably the strongest headlights on any of the EUC, that I have heard anyway.
V12 too heavy for new user ? I’m not a fan of getting a cheaper wheel, either I’m going to love it and need a better wheel or I shouldn’t get one. I’ve just heard heavier is hard to learn
0:35 dragonfly in the left lol
so which one do you prefer, the OW or the unycicle?
I hope the S20 has updated software like the V12, we'll know in 10 hours...
Darn product lust!
How about the kingsong?are there any new1 out yet??
Am I the only person that watches someone ride these and immediately think of Gizmoduck from duck tales???
Keep riding jimmy, you’ll get inmo coin every single day to unlock some features
is this a good euc as first one so also to learn on?
How it on hills; iam 200lbs. Does the unit have to be on when trollying?
Jimmy can I buy your Nikola+ from you or have you already sold it?
Did you get lucky and get a good v12?
The most useful thing that mask ever did right there!
Thanks Jimmy. Yeah these apps are suspicious to me. Why do they want location services active? They don’t need to track me.
@Jordan I’m referring to the Kingsong app which doesn’t have a map, and won’t let you adjust basic settings like warnings or tilt back without access to WiFi or cell data. That makes no sense.
Jimmy.. who won the #onewheel wall mount??
Does it not come in a plain box? I really don't want people seeing what it is.
Love it.
What about the braking? Really as slow and unusable as some say?
I just put an order for it but they say there out till. Next year january if so
Can you use v11 charger on this?
What gear are you wearing.
Please also do metr values :)
Does it fit in the frunk?
Would you say it is dope?
