I don't currently need any parts but this really makes me want to go to the junkyard just to look around. It's interesting even if you don't need anything.

Matt, the cleanest wiring install for the fan swap would be to get the factory relay block from the fan equipped trucks and SUV’s. It piggy backs on the stock fuse blocks. Pin the 2 relay trigger wires to the pcm, flash the pcm with HP tuners to enable the fans and your all set. All stock stuff with no rigged up crap.

    • @Heathfx5
      @Heathfx5 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

definitely should do it this way. the PCM can trigger the fans based on ECT (of course), but can also trigger the fans based on the A/C compressor pressure which will make your A/C work a lot better while idling, you also get the ability to disable the fans after a specified MPH.

Matt, on the third gens you should take the widow wiper module or whatever it is called. Its the oddly shaped plastic thing affixed to the firewall. Mine went out and I could not find a new one. Heck I couldn’t even find the part number. I found two third gens at the local junk yard and took them both. Good luck brother, great videos!

I do the same kind of junkyard shopping for upgrades. My '76 Valiant sedan has HD cooling (shroud, clutch fan, 26" big core rad), 12" rotor swap, rear sway bar, passenger exterior mirror, trunk light, police ticket light, the Edelbrock intake & carb....all from junkyards

I love the JY. I remember when they were lined with rows of 3rd Gens. That’s when I got my power seat in my car. When it was a bunch of 3rd Gens I just had mine but wasn’t deep into em like I am now. But I was able to find everything for my 91 RS Convertible. Poor burnt Camaro😢

That newer Tahoe did look like a police interceptor package no wonder people grabbed the rear end is already beefed up. Those rear speaker boxes are actually nice and would bump the bass for sure ideally with an aftermarket amo and bass control because if you have the Bose system it already sort of drowns the bass at times

Hey dude. Oatley, Quicksteel, etc. Epoxy putty works well enough for fixing the back side of broken trims. Fellow 3rd gen owner here. I'm used to repairing broken GM plastic. lol. This is why I favor black interiors. Hard to stain, easy to match. Great videos!

If you're going to Hazelton, it might be worth the 25 minute drive to Joe's in New Ringgold. They usually have a couple F-bodies, so does Achey's by Schuylkill Haven. I got a t56 out of there, and that's where RCR got the engine for the Falcon. They had a couple 1 ton 2wd vans/busses last summer.

I had a 73 Chevy caprice and it burned to the ground , went to give the scrap yard my title for the tow that cost $100 bucks. That was 2 days after the fire. It looked like I was n a field for 75 years .so rusted ,nothing left. When you’d alternator is a puddle of aluminum on the spot where it burned to the ground it was hot.

My local U pull and save if you go online they have a listing of all the vehicles and whiat rows they are in which is convenient so I don't have to cover the entire yard I just typically make a list and location of each vehicle go for a walk. I feel like a kid in a candy store in those places. Hard to go there in that spend 3-4-5 hours. Have retrieve several parts for my o4 from the you pull and save. Not to bad of a drive takes me about 45 minutes 1 way to get their.

10th digit on the Vin is going to be the year for example if its a number 4 its a 2004 anything newer then 09 will be a letter which you can fine VIN to year on Google and you can use the chart

It sucks that my pull-a-part takes off most wheels and tires before putting the cars out in the yard

Hey what I think would be cool, is to go grab a newer Chevy steering wheel from the junkyard and putting it in the Tahoe, I think I’d look cool

That Chevy truck you thought was an S-10 was a 2500 with the engine already gone. But the 4L80E was still sitting there would have been easy to pull with no engine in the way.

You didn’t even notice it. You were literally talking about how you were hoping to find one while you were looking at the truck lol.

Those callipers are not going to fit, those are 07 13" rotors, brackets are too big and if your wheels are not at least 16" then nothing is going to fit......not enough clearance on the wheels, but it will be a nice upgrade if they do.......my 06 has 12" rotors. next time i do brakes, i will be using 07 parts.

I have 18 inch wheels so they should fit.

As long as you have 17" rims you're good. You also need to grab the calipers and caliper mounting brackets. Have this setup on my 03. Also should use the steel braided brake lines in place of the oem rubber lines.

I love my Tahoes. Parts are cheap and easy to replace.
