    At first, I tried to learn how to crochet Amigurumi, because that was what was selling the most. However, it was too time consuming for me. I didn't want to sell something that would take me too long to make. So, I went back on Etsy, and I found out that Beanies sell very well there and that is what I make now. And I love it, too! Even though I own a crochet business, I never feel like I am working. 😊

    Love your experience and I know you will continue doing what you love ... I love all kinds of craft , macrame, crochet 🧶 I learned to crochet with a sewing 🧵 needle because I was to poor to get a crochet needle and yarn 🧶 i that time we were 17 boys and 4 girls... God bless you always keep up the good job 🙏🏼

    Thank you. It was very informative. I have sold on Etsy beaded necklace in 2017. Now i realise that for me is better to make digital DIY.

    Thank you for this tutorial, I liked your website suggestions. I'd love to learn how you designed your logo. I'm struggling to find out my own brand.

      I created it in Canva. I wouldn’t worry too much about the logo. The only place I use it is on my website and business cards! I just have a text logo

    Lots of great tips. And you are so right about Etsy, been there & done that; too saturated. Ty for sharing & making me think how I want my ducks to line up, as they say, 😊. I had, what I thought would be the perfect retirement biz plan, with some financial teeeks. However, now I'm actually retired, I dont want to work that hard any more. Ty again for sharing. You really helped. I'm going to stick with live markets & pop ups. I'm torn about offering too much contact info. Maybe just Instagram & or email? I will not be doing custom work or it would be one on one basis, if I was approached & approved of the request. What do you think about contact info?

    • @BagsbyBento
      @BagsbyBento  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think email and instagram are perfect! I generally just share those and a website. Happy it helps!

    Hi Taylor. Thank you for sharing this info. I'm in the process of starting a crochet business but I'm stuck on the legal. I recently saw a post you made on instagram where you said you eventually went with an LLC. I live in Los Angeles, California and from what I've read I need to be licensed before I can even start selling on Etsy. It all seems so complicated in my state.
    My question is, What made you decide to go with an LLC for your business?

    • @BagsbyBento
      @BagsbyBento  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey there! I chose an LLC in the event that I had any legal issues with the business it wouldn’t affect my personal finances. Not everyone feels the need to do that.
      I have a crochet friend in California that might be able to give some insight. You can find her on insta @high_on_crochet her name is April. Tell her I sent you!

    When you started did you have an inventory built up or did you do made to order?

    • @BagsbyBento
      @BagsbyBento  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I had a few things made from the design process but I set up my shop to be made to order! A lot of people prefer to make first then do a product drop. For me that was too much of a financial/time investment.

  • @calgarykovacs

    Quick question: Which company do you use for shipping? I shipped a couple of things with Canada Post but their prices are crazy. I'm pretty sure there are more affordable options out there just haven't found them yet :) Thanks a lot for your feedback

    • @BagsbyBento
      @BagsbyBento  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I’m in the states so I use United States Postal Service. When shipping to my family oversees we use Fedex or DHL but it’s not cheap!

    • @calgarykovacs
      @calgarykovacs 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@BagsbyBento yes it’s definitely not. I heard there is a PayPal shipping which is like 70% off normal shipping prices. I have to look into it little bit deeper. Thank you for your reply

    • @BagsbyBento
      @BagsbyBento  ปีที่แล้ว

      There can be a lot of reasons you don’t get sales on Etsy but the most common is not enough marketing! Etsy does not bring people to your shop in the beginning. You have to bring your own audience. The more you sell on Etsy, the more often you show up in search results. I hope that helps!
