I am with you and set comedy to a higher standard as well. There are so many comedies that only work for their time while others are timeless. I actually like the movie Clueless and it's a guilty pleasure of mine. I knew there was a TV series later but I have only seen the movie. To me Clueless is all about being yourself and also finding yourself while growing up. It seems all about finding about who you are. But that's just my opinion

Brilliant analysis, I loved this video and your editing style. Clueless was one of my favorite movies. Its awesome because I had in depth talk about 10 things I hate about you being based on The taming of the shrew...my coworkers just looked puzzled though😂👍
I enjoyed clueless but it's a stretch for me to call it a classic, but you make a compelling argument. I guess I personally grade it against other high school classics i.e. fast times at ridgemont high and breakfast club. Either way, super well put together video and you have the PERFECT voice for this. Great stuff 🙌
I honestly never saw Clueless, now that I saw the clips I wondered, how did I miss this? Personally I am more of a fan of the Ghostbusters, the first one anyway the second one was just too weird for me. Thanks for sharing now I gotta go watch Clueless!
I actually haven't seen clueless beginning to end - I think o brother where art thou and the ladykillers would be my default choices for classic comedy films (the original ladykillers not the remake...although I don't mind that nearly as much as most people) ..OH I like dumb and dumber pretty aggressively too
Id suggest checking it out again for sure but it's possible that the cultural divide is why it didnt hit you. This film is certainly nostalgic americana.
This was fab. Totally. I am sad you discussed this without acknowledging the other So Cal classic film that brought pop culture relevance to the fore front: Valley Girl. That being said Valley Girl suffers from ageism while Clueless does appear to be a period piece so perfectly stuck in 95
Clueless it is all what you said and so much more, truly iconic, like ICONIC movie fr people really see it as a silly teen movie but like the way it impacted and influence still today the 'youth culture'

I don't regard "Clueless" as a classic. It's okay, as far as Jane Austen adaptations go. However, it didn't rock my boat. It was like watching a teen comedy from the mid-to-late 1980s that was set in the mid 1990s. Very odd.
Because there is MUCH more to that movie than meets the eye. But I've never heard it discussed in any of my film classes. Though my professors were pretentious. 😂😂😂
