Dude that face he made was because he was trying NOT to cry.
Please do Dan's version of Amazing Grace next. So. Good. !!
Dan’s tears are very real. He shared this love of opera with his late father. Thank you for not being an opera snob. Dan is an amazing artist who sings many many genres. I feel immensely blessed I found him singing on TH-cam last Christmas.
And if you notice his eyes are filling up, he got very emotional singing this it was his father's favorite.
your journey with Dan has just begun....you're in for a treat.
What I find so amazing about Dan aside from his incredible voice, is that he appeals to people who never liked metal or opera . He has been able to capture a wide range of people and introduce them to different genres that they never thought they would enjoy. Not many artists are able to which between genres with such ease.
💯💯😃
Exactly
Great summary of Dan!
Perfectly said! 💯💥
When you talk of his tension, it could be emotional as this was one of his late Italian father’s favorite Italian songs.
That was my initial thought too. This wasn’t just a performance it was a memory for him
Love the honesty and insight you give - and your emotion listening to music! And to listen to Dan allways brings out soooo much emotion for me too. Thank you for the reaction!
Beautiful reaction. Thank you for your "criticism," which was nicely explained. Dan Vasc is absolutely phenomenal and has the most versatile, powerful, beautiful voice on the planet. I hope you'll react to more of the many genres he covers. I'm subbing and will be here for the next one!
You got him, Dan "unique take" Vasc. The rolled R's are natural to his Brazilian heritage, but he does have some experience with the classical world, I believe. He is a true crossover artist...not a metal singer, not a showman singing showtunes and definitely not a female singing female covers. He's not even a Disney prince, but he has covered all those and MUCH more. He has even turned himself into the entire choir in Handel's Messiah.
Thanks for your reaction. Dan was classically trained. He may not sing in the "traditional" way, but you can bet that it is exactly the way he has chosen to express himself. He can sing in many genres. Keep in mind that he lives in Brazil and speaks Brazilian Portuguese and also very good English. He creates his videos at home. So it may not be sung in the traditional style, but I have to say I find it my favorite of all the versions I have heard. JMHO
mine as well
Agreed.
Well said. I whole heartedly agree. Dan is a gift♥️
I think everyone who hears him feels the same way,
I absolutely loved your reaction to Dan Vasc with the pros and cons.I have learned more about singing. You go into such great detail.. I watch and listen to him alot because he does so much with his voice. Thank you,
He used to listen to opera with his dad, who is now deceased. Dan sings a variety of predominantly rock ‘n’ roll music. He is a performer and has learned how to use his facial expressions to develop his personal style of singing with many different effects. As a power, metal singer, he likes to make all songs his way. I caught a lot of that in your critique. He puts a lot of his passion into his music where in this song he looks like he’s ready to cry. So glad you enjoyed him because he is an excellent performer. His performances are simple but engaging. Absolutely fascinating!!!.
check him do Amazing grace!!! Its a treat!
I listened to Nessum Dorma sung by Pavarotti and , by Bocelli, beautifully executed by both. Then I listened to it sung by Dan Vasc. This blew me away! Dan sings this song with a voice richer, deeper and more powerful than either of the other two! Dan showed such emotion, such passion.Very well done and respect to Dan Vasc ! Thanks for your reaction. 😊
I loved your professional breakdown of Dan's performance of this beautiful aria. Back in the early 90s, I was fortunate enough to see Pavarotti in concert while living in Houston (absolutely phenomenal and worth every penny). When I recently heard Dan sing Nessun Dorma, I was blown away at how well he did it for someone who was not a professional opera singer. I did pick up on some of the same things you pointed out, but I also loved it so much, regardless. Dan has received classical training and even taught voice lessons at one time. Being Brazilian, his first language is actually Brazilian Portuguese, and he's learned English as a 2nd language. He's part Italian on his Dad's side and his Dad was an opera fan, especially Pavarotti and Bocelli. Dan is currently learning Italian, too. He's always learning & refining himself in every way possible. Some of the tension & raw emotion you saw may have been due to the fact that he did this only months after the death of his father from cancer and Dan did quite a few songs in honor of his father's memory. Dan also did "American Trilogy" by Elvis Presley as a tribute to his father just mere days after losing him because his father was a really big Elvis fan, as well. Dan does everything from Folk/Operatic styles to 80s Rock & Heavy Metal. He also converts regular songs to metal versions and he has a metal band called Fearless consisting of his younger brother and two close friends from church. He's collaborated with other TH-cam personalities on numerous works and also with professional artists like Fabio Lione (Rhapsody and Angra), Luis Mariutti (Angra and Shaman), John Schlitt and John Lawry of Petra, etc. He also did some backup work on one of Sir Christopher Lee's Metal albums just prior to his death. Lee was going to lend his voice to narration on Dan's band's album (Chronicles of Ancient Wisdom), but sadly passed away before that could be done.
Some other songs you might enjoy would be Dan's duet with Rhen Stillnight perfoming the Bocelli and Brightman song "Time to Say Goodbye", his Phantom of the Opera covers, his version of "Gethsemane" from rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar, his Handel's Messiah Hallelujah Chorus (One Man Choir), and his phenomenal version of Amazing Grace which was what introduced many of us to him. Opera singer Peter Barber did a reaction to Dan's Amazing Grace, then discovered Dan's Witcher covers because he's a fan of the games & series just like Dan. Those covers are conversions of bards songs played with lute accompaniment into heavy metal infused versions that actually have more views than the originals. He is such a multifaceted, creative artist who's always good at surprising us.
Thank you so much for lending your professional take on Dan's abilities with such kindness & appreciation for who he is.
Music of the Night from Phantom of the Opera is another great one by Dan!
Nice to hear from someone who knows opera and appreciate the fact that you recognized that Dan is a metal singer. Enjoyed the lesson and critiques. We love Dan no matter the genre. 😊
Dan's performances are so powerful, so beautiful. He becomes the music. I am convinced that music has a soul, which needs to be expressed and few people can do that. Dan does it. Watch anything he's done.
Hail Vasc Nation! 💪❤️✝️
Very nice and professional analysis without detracting from the overall work of art. Dan is Brazilian and not a professional opera singer. His passion is metal, symphonic metal. He can handle any genre. His voice is unparalleled in every area. All cover songs are recommended, as are his own songs. Have fun browsing his channel. I'll be back for the next reaction. 🤘💪♥️
Your reaction is wonderful. It’s awesome to share with someone who appreciates this young man.
Dan Vasc is an amazing vocalist. That was a really powerful and beautiful rendition. Thanks for an excellent analysis and great comments.
Thanks for reaction to Dan! Welcome to the Rabbit Hole - keep going please - more reactions to all his other covers !
Hey:) Thank you so much for your great and incredible reaction and analysis to this fantastic vocalist, Dan Vasc!!! I was very happy that you enjoyed Dan's beautiful performance. He always impresses me with his beautiful voice, his vocal range and the great and true delivery in his presentations!!! I think you'll enjoy seeing him perform Hallelujah, where he performs his own choir with 24 voices. Another great and magnificent performance was in Gethsemane, where he proves to be an excellent actor as well. Dan is brilliant at everything he sets out to do 👏🏻. I look forward to more reactions from Dan. Thanks again ;)
Love, love, love our reaction! Helps me a lot to prove to myself that I'm right in my assessment of Dan Vasc's vocal performance. Thank you so much! You've said that "he approached it in a way that's authentically him " and Dan Vasc does this in all the covers he released on TH-cam. I never know what I get when he covers a new song, but I always know that it will be an epic and surprising rendition that sounds better than the original and that he once again goes all in.
I’m sure you’ll enjoy exploring the many facets of Dan Vasc. That intensity that appealed to you is always present in whatever genre he’s performing.
His choppy style and raspy attack reveal his metal flavor to this classic imho. Thanks for your detailed explanation in your analysis as a classical singer!
Dan is classically trained he taught it as well for a living you need to go down this rabbit hole you will be stunned and he also sings in 4 languages next you want to hear his true range you need to react to his newest My heart will go on welcome to Vasc nation I’m a new subscriber he has a very loyal fan base you channel will be flooded with request and it is well worth looking into he also does The Phantom of the opera he has stage presence as well one more thing his Amazing grace has 12 million views it’s like you never heard before truly amazing
That was incredible and I got to actually hear you sing parts of nessun dorma which I've always wanted you to do. Very good. I'm watching all of them
I have been waiting for an opera singer to react to this and I loved the detail you went into. Still prefer his version to “technically correct” opera though and I can see you enjoyed his version as well.
Loved your reaction! Dan can sing it all! This was in honor of his late father who loved opera. Dan had operatic training.
Dan Vasc is from Brazil, so lots more rolling of the R's are common. He's the only heavy metal singer I can listen to and this was so powerful and moving. If you listen to his version of Amazing Grace he cycles through several styles of approach and it's respectful and then soulful at the end which is different than I've ever heard it done. But his approach makes sense from a point of telling the story of someone saved by grace and so deeply grateful and aware of one's flawed nature.
Dan is 1/4 Italian. His native tongue is Brazilian Portuguese, which may account for some of his vocal technique
Dan is Brazilian so rolling Rs comes very naturally.
Wow is right!!! I prefer Dans singing this than other artists!!
you do know he is brazilin so his accent is a thing but also that grit is one of the things we love the most about him. He is a beautiful rabbit hole.
Every time I listen to this song I get chills!
I enjoyed this more than any others ... he can sing anything from ballads to opera to metal ... He is fluent in Italian also .. check out Music of the Night from Phantom, Gethsemane from Jesus Christ Superstar .. have you checked out Amazing Grace
Welcome to the Dan Vasc rabbit hole. Definitely take a look at his version of Gethsemane. It Is awesome performance art IMHO 😊
Thank you for your reaction and analysis of this piece. Greatly appreciate your teaching style and the examples you provide. I like that you can critique without trashing his particular singing style. Very upbeat. Happy you found Dan Vasc.
Although I agree with your analysis at the end of the day Dan brought life to this, I also think that the best singers put their hearts into the music and not only their unbelievable, undisputed, immaculate technique.
Fantastic reaction❤️. Please do Music of the Night.
Really enjoyed your analysis from an operatic standpoint. Dan has such an amazing range and can cover so many genres. This cover is not trying to impersonate Pavarotti or any other amazing operatic tenor. More opera with a little grit 😁. Love your enthusiasm in the reaction❤.
It's very interesting to hear a reaction to this cover from someone who knows about opera. I know nothing about singing or music, so I've always wondered how close Dan's singing here got to classical opera style. I also appreciate that you still understand that Dan is not an opera singer, and he was trying to do his own thing here.
Now it would be nice to see you react to something where Dan is more in his element. Some of my favorites I can suggest are his covers of "Toss a Coin to your Witcher", "Burn Butcher Burn", "Bring me to Life", "Black Wind Fire and Steel", and his most recent "My Heart Will Go On" (mostly because hearing this song in metal style is pretty funny).
Thank You! I like Dan's rendition. He is just now learning to speak Italian. A new adjective for him - Dazzling Dan!
You said it!!…”Absolutely Stellar & Captivating”!! Thank you so very much for your Great reaction & analysis & mostly, your appreciation for Dan’s skills & his version of this song!! 🥰🙏🏻❤️🎙️🎶🎶🎶🔥🔥🔥👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
It's so freakin metal!!!
Now that you have heard Nessun Dorma, you should try Amazing Grace and Toss A Coin To Your Witcher. 😉
Thanks for an interesting reaction.
Greetings from Germany!
Dan makes any song he performs his own. No way in any form is he an opera singer. I think he did this aria well not to shabby. He is a metal singer. He does have over 200 songs he's been at it long time. He range is low to very high. He is a very gifted and talented young man, how is always willing to learn . Enjoy Dans rabbit hole, which we all have loved. Thank you for being fair. I enjoy opera too.
Gave me chills
Thank you for your reaction to Dan Vasc. His Grandmother, on his fathers side was Italian, I believe. He used to listen to Pavarotti and Andrea Bocelli in the car with his father. He does a lovely duet with Rhen Stillnight - Time To Say Goodbye, which is well worth watching. Again, thank you.
Love that one.
I enjoyed listening to your reactions to Dan.😊
I preface my comment by saying thank you. Your mastery of the art has given us an excellent review and view of what you and others classically trained see as pure and correct opera. That said, I believe the numbers of opera enthusiasts having the expectation of perfection and exactness you present to us are relatively few compared to millions of other music lovers preferences. I do appreciate your review of Dan’s interpretation of Nessun Dorma. However some like me due possibly to a lack of knowledge concerning opera may not fully understand your critique although extensive and for the most part objective. I’ll admit it was difficult seeing and hearing you laugh saying whatever it was you were laughing at was just bizarre. Maybe it was what you often said was choppy. I noticed you made compliments but other than the last minute or so they were sadly followed with a criticism. In music I understand what speaks to my heart and soul. Pavarotti, and his interpretation of this aria made it the standard, making it his own. However others have also beautifully made it their own and as you suspected this is what Dan Vasc has done. He made this aria superbly his own so much so that I now do have an appreciation for opera. Pavarotti’s rendering may be considered perfect by most but seems dry almost sterile and more about precision than the passion and emotion I so much prefer. Dan’s ‘rendition’ here and with many of his covers has given me goose bumps and brought me to tears which for me isn’t typical. Whether it be the grit the passion or Dan’s embodiment of the songs he covers, in my eyes he is incomparable. Aside from his voice he is a genuine, sincere, funny, witty, intelligent quality man of faith uniquely trained, talented, blessed and gifted. He is lovingly referred to as the Brazilian with a Million. These are just my thoughts and views, no one else’s. I’m not defending Dan. He doesn’t need it. His abilities, reputation, achievements and dedication are evident and stand on their own.
Thank you again, Donna Woytovich
Thank you for the in depth analysis of Dan's rendition of Nessun Dorma . He is from Brazil and his native tongue is Portuguese but he mostly sing in English but does some Christmas sone in Italian. You may enjoy his rendition of Music Of The Night or Gethsemane but you check some of his others works: Toss A Coin To Your Witcher and Burn Butcher Burn ( from the Witcher), I'll Make A Man Of You (Mulan), Amazing Grace, Bohemian Rapsody, Dawn Over A New World (Dragon Force), Handel Hallelujah (which he sings all the parts), his latest release is My Heart Will Go On (with a metal twist). He can sing any genre of song and a catalog of 240+ videos and just in May reached his goal of 1 million subscribers. There is so much to chose from. Dan puts is heart and soul in every song and brings a emotions balance and inspiration. Looking forward to you next reaction from Dan.
I love Dan Vasc his voice,I love all his music and covers,he did many ‼️
I also love Opera very much, and I love your lesson ‼️
He also did one man Choir of Handle's Hallelujah ‼️
Maybe you want to look at that???
He did 274 takes .
I am appreciative of this reaction. I love whatever Dan does. Opera is generally not relatable to me. The reaction was done is such a pleasant way that I really learned a lot. The mood was good and it would be unlikely that someone would be offended by the criticisms. They would want to listen to learn. I find myself fascinated that opera isn't just unnatural sounding singing (to me), rather I learned that operatic singing is learning how to use all of the body. I had no idea. Sir, I would like you to react to a metal song of Dan's. I would find it interesting to see your comments on how Dan uses his voice in metal. Thank you.
I'm glad to see you have finally discovered Dan! He is from Brazil, and his diction in most of his songs is really good. Generally you can understand most of the words in his songs, which can't be said about some metal singers, that's for sure! You need to watch some of his Metal songs to see what he can really do! :)
I would recommend I'll make a Man out of you for his theatrics, if you want to see his breath control, watch Black Wind Fire and Steel, to see the range of what he can do with the metal Genre, watch Bring Me to Life, to see a bit of his fun personality, watch Bohemian Rhapsody, or Pour some sugar on me (trip to the beach),
If you want to see some of what he calls insanity, watch his 24 man choir Hallelujah Chorus! If you want to see his range, watch any of his female covers, but his Nightwish ones are especially amazing.
He also does an amazing rendition of Amazing Grace, and has some Christmas metal covers.
I have subscribed to your channel, and I'm hoping you will do more reactions to his other works. :)
I really enjoyed your analysis of this. Keep it up! :)😊
I totally agree with all you said, Great suggestions. I subbed too hoping for more Dan reactions
I really enjoyed your reaction to Dan Vasc. Opera was something his father loved and taught Dan to love also. I hope you will react to more of Dan's work, such as Amazing Grace, Angels We Have Heard on High, and his metal covers such as I'll Make a Man Out of You, the Disney Mulan song, and Priscilla's Song (metal cover) from the Witcher. Thanks so much and I have subscribed and looks forward to more.
So good to hear a opera singer react to Dans versjon of this song. Thank you so mutch. It’s so mutch to learn from you Sir. I think it’s very hard to change the way you always sing. I just love his voice.
Love from Norway❤
I’m one of Dans Nation. And I understand your «kritic»
Woohoo! Can't wait for you to react to More Dan! Buckle up, you're in for Ride!❤❤❤
He does speak fluent German in addition to Brazilian Portuguese. What I love most about Dan is he doesn't sing a song He emotes a song . Since he hit a million subscribers maybe you could do a Million Dreams from greatest Showman. He also does Music of the Night from Phantom and Gethsemane from Jesus Christ Superstar that very much would be quite at home on a Broadway stage . Thank you very much and I hope to hear more of Dan on your Channel
I enjoyed your reaction and analysis! Dan never set out to become an opera singer, but found that he needed to learn how to become a good singer before he could become a good metal singer, which is still a technique that amazes me - it doesn’t involve the vocal cords! - and he has become a GREAT metal singer. As I’ve often said, no opera singer could sing his version of Burn Butcher Burn (from The Witcher), which I highly recommend. Dan is often called The Man with A Thousand Voices, and several are on display in that song. I think his voice is gorgeous and his expressiveness and charisma extraordinarily. As others have said, he also sings in a number of genres besides metal. Try The Music of the Night or Gethsemane for Broadway Dan, or Angels We Have Heard on High, in five languages and with a “chorus” of Dans, or some of the other suggestions already made. I truly appreciate hearing from people who know what they’re talking about. Thanks so much!
Rob and Austin from Home Free turned Nessun Dorma into a duet. From the point of view of somebody with no classical training at all, it sounds pretty good.
Really enjoyed this interesting critique
In Brazil it is important to completely pronounce words. Also they roll "R"'s in Brazilian Potuguese. Dan feels it is important for him to speak and sing in English because the most of his listeners speak or understand English. It hasn't thrilled many Brazilians, who feel he should perform in his native languaage.
Dan' father was Italian and they listened to opera frquently. Dan can speak five languages.
thank you for your reaction very interessting.......I hope for more Dan reactions.........I would like to see your reaction to Dans my heart will go on
Dan puts his own artistic style and spin on every song he sings and he may not follow exactly the strict rules of classical music or opera but the average untrained person will not hear what you hear. It was very interesting to hear your professional reaction and opinion. His talent is beyond words and so many of us feel his music in our souls. I've never cared for metal or opera but I can listen to any of his songs and be moved to tears and experience chills like I never have with any other singer. I think 1.1 million subscribers is just the beginning for this young man. I am thrilled for him and look forward to hearing any covers he chooses to sing - he sings most songs better than the original singers. Amazing! Thanks for your reaction!
so enjoyed your very informative reaction. i learned so much. i wish all reactors were as knowledgeable instead of just exclaiming "wow" and waiting to see if any metal was introduced into the song. one of the things that you notice throughout dan's works is his wonderful diction. so many songs that i have listened to years and first understand the lyrics after hearing dan sing them. i am wondering if perhaps the connectivity that you wish would be more present has been sacrificed in the interest of diction? does that make any sense? hope to hear more dan reactions from you. subbed.
I really enjoyed your analyses. I can appreciate that some of Dan's take is not true to traditional, classical, singing, but I think that was intentional for him. I say that because he works so hard at what he does that if his intentions were to perform it strictly in the traditional sense, I think he would have done that. I also think that some of the pronunciation differences you pointed out, comes more from a language issue with his native language being Brazilian Portuguese. He is very fluent in English and I often hear some differences when he's singing in English too. I believe he also speaks Italian but maybe he's like me and can understand more than speaks. His dad was mostly Italian and that's where his love of opera originated. Him and his dad would sit in the car and listen to opera together. His father passed away about a year before he recorded this as a tribute to his dad. I suspect that's where most of the facial tension and emotion near the end was coming from. It's nice to hear from someone so knowledgeable though, where his choices differ from what's traditional.
I can only say this - If 'real' opera was performed like that, and sounded like that, i would be spending every single evening in the opera house.
After listening to Dan's version of this iconic song, traditional opera versions always leaves me in some peculiar way disappointed and wanting.
I totally agree with you.
Listen to Amazing Grace plz
This was his dads favorite song
Thank you for your reaction. Now I'd like you to perform metal and let him critique your performance, That would be great fun!
I would love to hear that one😂😂Lol
I also would luv to hear that reaction!! Shame, he only listened to one of Dan's songs! Lol!❤😂
You will NEVER reach Dan's standards!!
So glad you enjoyed Dans performance! Loved watching your reaction. Dan is an amazing artist. He gives everything he sings his all…and I truly enjoy everything he does. Hope you get into more from Dan. I think you will find something you will enjoy. Thanks for all you said..and hope you do more from Dan.
Rasping sound.... probably because he is basically, even though classically trained, a heavy metal singer. Would love to see your reaction to his Handel's Hallelujah chorus
I appreciate that you let it play right through before you start your critique. Nothing worse than people who keep stopping and starting as you totally lose the flow of the piece
A lot of coaches/reactors rarely talk about tension affecting the sound. Plenty of them mention posture and proper breath support, diaphragm engagement etc. Tension changes the sound a lot, I have severe plantar fascitis, doing some crazy stretching dynamically changes my breath support and I am able to sing much more freely. You do a very good job of explaining what's going on for the lamen like me, Dan introduced me to this song. Glad you enjoyed Dan, he's great, I'd suggest checking out some of his Manowar or Iron Maiden covers to hear him at his best, never a bad Dan song.
I suggest Dan's "Black Wind Fire and Steel" Manowar cover and "The Trooper" Iron Maiden cover. Not to forget his "The Number Of The Beast" Iron Maiden cover.
Just sayin'...I prefer Dans version. He is all about power and I like it.
I do like your take on Dan . He's awesome such a pleasure to listen too. Listen to Handels music he sings. He Sings all the different parts . You'd probably like his video of phantom of the Opera
Bravo DAN VASC espetacular incrível magnífico ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
What a fascinating analysis. I love how he sings this, too. Subbed!!
I hope Dan views this analysis, for his own confirmations. He loves to improve wherever possible, & your suggestions were short & sweet & your congratulatory remarks so genuine too.
Dan, is from Brazil, & says he learned most of his english from tv & movies. He obviously watched a lot of the episodes of Friends & Joey's phrases & eyebrow punctuations. He jokingly mentioned how difficult it is to connect with girls at the Gym. Apparently they shy away from his "hey. How you doin'?" 😂
I love his sense of humor as much as his expressive voice. In fact, there's only a small handful of singers who stir me emotionally, & Dan is at the top of i can count them all list.
Subbed for more of your wonderful analytics. (& voice!!)
Yes, I am here again, When I hear Dan sing I feel it in my body, sometimes when he sings I don't breathe, I hope I am a normal fan lol. I have always loved classical music but love everything he does, Are you American? if you are, listen to his "Star Spangled Banner" PS, I think he is part Italian on his dad side.
You know your stuff
Obrigada por sua maravilhosa reação e suas análises. ❤
Ouça Dan cantando Handel's Halleluiah onde ele faz todo o coral, e Gethesemane da opera rock Jesus Christ Superstar. E Oh Holy Night. 😊
❤ from Rio-Brazil.
The rolling rs may come from speaking Brazilian Portuguese
Thank you for your very informative analysis. Btw, Dan records his audio (first) and video separately. For a fun one, check out Bring Me to Life.
Pavarotti did the same facial expression of eyes when he did that “vincero”….
Btw Dan is also a gamer, has his own retrogaming channel, and has a hysterically funny sense of humor. His actual full name is Daniel Vasconcelos (plus a few other names), but he shortened his name when he branched out to a wider audience outside of Brazil.
He does everything out of his home, often mixing & mastering his work, plus is quite good at theatrical elements & filming aspects, too. Yet, he leaves all his work on his TH-cam page and website in order to gauge his progress and inspire others to pursue their goals relentlessly. He's also considerably humble with an innate sense of honor & integrity while being just enjoyable to hang out with on a live. Those qualities have endeared himself to many, and that is why Vasc Nation has grown exponentially in recent years. Some of Vasc Nation are the very ones who've reacted to his music and now also follow him on other social media platforms.
Merci⚜️🇨🇦❤️🔥🫶🙏
Hey, if you ever want to look at a really good dig at the egos of classical singers, look at Mireille Delunsch's La Folie with maestro Minkowski, including not ending the notes when they should. Just say gimme if you can't find it.
Fairy Tale next, so you can hear Dan's full range. The live version of the original very much recommended also. There's Dawn of Victory ft. Fabio Lione, Burn Butcher, Burn, Kiss from a Rose, Black Wind, Fire and Steel... But for a real outpouring of emotion, Son of Pain.
I really appreciated your analysis of Dan's singing. It would be wonderful if you did the same for his performance of Gethsesame from Jesus Christ Superstar.
Please listen to his cover of „Gethesmane“!
💯 agree! My favorites of Dans are Gethsemane and Nessun Dorma even though I’m a metalhead at heart. Hail VascNation ❤
I'M sorry but must disagree with you I have been listening to Tenors since 1940 and 1950 and if you listen to Beniamino GIGLI or Franco Correlli to their Nessun Dorma both being native Italians they do rill their "R" as is correct and music is all about interpretation did you have a chat Mr PUCCINI and ask him how to sing his music or listen to someone else telling you how it should be done sorry again but maybe look into History a bit
More dan vasc
Have you listened to music of the night. ❤️
I don't understand why you said he would be rejected, but I know nothing about opera. I did go and listen to Pavarotti after I listened to Dan, and all I can say, is I wouldn't pay a dime to listen to Pavarotti, lol, sorry he sounded kind of sick compared to Dan. The song was just beautiful when Dan was performing, it brought me to tears. All I can say is when it comes to music, Dan is magic.
In my perspective, opera singing is about the appreciation of vocal technique, the artists complete understanding of music (which can extend into theory, the piece of music their performing, counterpoint, etc.) refinement of their developed skill, natural timbre, and masterful storytelling. It's also a way of appreciating tradition and roots of classical music and singing in a world that is consistently changing and evolving. The genre (like all other musical genres) is not for everyone and, at least for me, was an acquired taste. When I say Dan would be rejected by an opera house, I mean that there is a lot of classical vocal technique he isn't adhering to and creating discrepancies in his sound (which is open to artistic interpretation and much of his audience really likes his own take on the music, like I do as well). I think he did a great performance of the piece, just not performed by traditional standards which opera casters and directors would be hesitant to hire considering much of the audience that listens to opera leans more to the older generations that like consistency and stability in an everchanging world. I have stories about this experience but I'll save that for future videos. I hope this helps =)
@@goodeveningstories I understand what you are saying. I went back and listened again to Pavarotti, his voice just sounds bland and well kind of ordinary, but that's just me, lol. Dan's voice is full of emotion and although I have never really listened to opera, I loved his version so much, I had to go look up what the words where that he was singing which made me like it even more. Thanks
Rejected immediately? Their loss, not ours. Nessun Dorma is precious to me. I'd rather not go into why so soon after watching Home Free do Brothers In Arms. As a stage actor, jaw tension? Anthing that affects the mask affects the tone.Color me happy!
Dan speaks Italian. His father was Italian.
Dan. is one quarter Italian - his father’s mother was Italian, I believe. He’s now learning conversational Italian, I’ve heard.
