Are you getting power to your rear sub, and also can you see the oil life indicator on the dash? I installed mine a couple days ago and can't get these functions.
Very simple review but went over literally everything that actually matters, no one else has talked about the brightness auto dimming so really good to know! It's weird that all the buttons for the tablet are on the left hand side but the temperature is in C, must be aimed at the euro market. The C works great for me in the UK but those buttons are on the wrong side ideally - suppose I'll have to put up with it You've also introduced me to a new climate switch I haven't seen before, can't wait to actually push buttons to make my fans speed up and slow down!
I have this on my 2018 Honda Civic hatchback sport. It genuinely impresses me how good it works, especially when you update its firmware. You can change the F and C by a toggle in settings but I absolutely hate the AC overlay so I disabled it in settings (ac controls have a screen on 2018 model). Just about everything is customizable. My biggest complaint has got to be the home screen itself in it's android form. The widgets on the front are completely fake and you cannot delete them or add any new ones.
There are a 1000 videos on youtube that tell you how to install an aftermarket head unit. You can even find ones for 10th gen civics that show you how to take apart the trim pieces. There's no value in making a video for a type r.
I'm wondering if you can confirm that you're getting sound from your rear subwoofer in the hatch area? I seem to be getting power to all the speakers but am only missing the rear sub. Also do you have the oil life indicator on your dash menu still?

So what's up with these head units not able to include the FK8 specific settings/toggles? I believe it's really only the auto rev match option that doesn't carry over from the stock HU. I'm pretty sure they have the FK8 in China where they make these HUs...
Couldn't tell you for sure. It's a real bummer because Joying did a great job on this and if they would have included the full car functionality for like $200 more I would pay it.
So recently, I discovered that there is a menu for configuring a lot of the vehicle functions such as doors auto lock when walking away, but you're right, the rev match isn't there. I don't think it's an issue. I don't ever plan to turn it off and I imagine you could use a scan tool to control it if you really wanted to.
