was this with ethernet or wifi?
Did you get Instrument cluster navigation working?
I've been looking for one of these, thank you :D
How does it work with the turbo settings on the steering wheel ? Mines kinda lost that feature and I’m trying to gain that feature back
Hi! Will you be able to recalibrate your tpms and your maintenance reset like your oil level % to 100% after changing your oil?
Do the radio have auto rev match control function for the type r?
Great video. do you have sensors on the front and back and do they work on joying?
Hey, I just installed mine and I'm not sure how the wifi part of it works, do I have to use my phones Hotspot for me to use Google on the car or does it come with its own wifi?
Does it support the side view camera?
hows the sound quality ?
i have a hdmi built in my car with usb can those connect to it also?
Can you use the air condition / heater controls with that information unit please ? Thank 👍 you!
How did you know the bearing was worn out? I have a strange clunking noise from the rear and I believe its this bearing.
Does it have factory settings like tpms and oil changes and as well as spark plugs and air filters reset?
no
I was mistaken, it does have TPMS reset. I don't use the maintenance minder stuff. I keep track of that on my own as I change it more frequently.
Did you order option A, B or C? I’m thinking of using my own amps instead of the factory amp. I have a Type-R. Which option A,B or C should I buy? Thanks in advance!
It says in the description. C comes with support for the factory amp, but it also has the regular ports on the back hook up your own aftermarket equipment
I can't see the picture for the orange wire? and the links are cut off
Thanks. I'm working on fixing it. Google has to review my identity to use this "advanced" feature. The link is www.joyingauto.com/blog/post/tips-for-oem-backup-camera-connection-on-honda-civic/ You can use a posi-tap to T off the existing wire from the OE plug without doing any cutting.
@@MuffinMan0521 thanks, I don't have my unit yet, but of the videos I have seen, there was another guy with a touring like me. He did not have to do any modifications to the harness.
Ah, because you have a manual transmission, mine is auto so it should be a matter of connecting the rca yellow cable.
Does your backup view look better with this headunit? The view displayed on the factory headunit, in my 2017 CTR, is just awful.
No, the camera is a POS. You can replace it with a higher end unit, however I doubt it would mount perfectly on the trunk. You'd probably have to make a custom mount for it.
Does it say type r when you turn it on lol
hey man! can it be install on fk2 type r model? anyway nice review!
It's for 10th gen civics
Hi, did you get your oem usb ports to work? I have the same HU but for a CRV and my OEM usb ports dont have power..
There is 2 usb ports. The one in the console is just power and the other one is for connecting to the HU. I don't believe that one works for data anymore. The HU has its own USB.
@@MuffinMan0521 i see, were you able to connect the car’s usb cable (green connector i assume) with the usb adapter that Joying gave you? Mine seems to be connected physically but no power goes out from the OEM usb port
So what's up with these head units not able to include the FK8 specific settings/toggles? I believe it's really only the auto rev match option that doesn't carry over from the stock HU. I'm pretty sure they have the FK8 in China where they make these HUs...
Couldn't tell you for sure. It's a real bummer because Joying did a great job on this and if they would have included the full car functionality for like $200 more I would pay it.
So recently, I discovered that there is a menu for configuring a lot of the vehicle functions such as doors auto lock when walking away, but you're right, the rev match isn't there. I don't think it's an issue. I don't ever plan to turn it off and I imagine you could use a scan tool to control it if you really wanted to.
I wanna order one but i heard the maintenance minder doesn’t work with this unit.. is it true? I have a 21 still under warranty so i would like to know if it still works. Thanks in advance!
It doesn't replace all of the vehicles factory functions. It doesn't have the maintenance minder or the TPMS reset. It's annoying, but on the other hand the larger, higher resolution screen and built in solid wireless carplay are significant improvements to the stock unit.
@@MuffinMan0521 does the siri button on the steeering still activate siri?
Hello, this is Candy from Joying. after checking your review video, we are really appreciated on it. we want to talk something about the joying stereo function with you. could we get your email address? 😁
Anyone have issue with not being able to have sound to the rear of the car messing with the equalizer? I can’t figure it out and I’ve had everything connected
Hey I just install my headunit and I notice a couple things that annoys me, I now don’t have the maintenance icon, brake pressure and acceleration % icon shift light icon and g force icon on my dash, all I have left is boost fuel and consumption…I also was not able to reset tpms and maintenance on the new headunit, i tap on reset it just doesn’t response…do you have any of those issue?
I don't use any of those functions. As far as the TPMS calibration, I haven't tried that yet. I think with the TPMS calibration it doesn't clear it immediately, you have to drive the car.
I have honda hack will I lose my functions?? Cause I use the hondata app but it’s still android??
How long did it take to get there? I just order one and was wondering.. and thanks in advance for any infor..
I think 2 weeks
Thanks because im worry because i have 2018 fk8 and i also got an Dasaita Android unit and i plug it up.. and it turn on…but NO sound audio at all..
is there a reverse camera
Go to the website and read the plethora of product information. I don't have time to field 10,000 questions that are easily found on the manufacturers website :)
Is this the 4gb / 64 gb version?
I can't remember the specific ram, I just know that it's the upgraded one.
Is there any Audio Lag with the Bluetooth?
No, only slight lag with wireless carplay.
@@MuffinMan0521 Bummer, I want Wireless Carplay, but with no lag.
Celsius is the only way!
I'm wondering if you can confirm that you're getting sound from your rear subwoofer in the hatch area? I seem to be getting power to all the speakers but am only missing the rear sub. Also do you have the oil life indicator on your dash menu still?
Nice, do they have this one for 2012 civic?
You have to understand that I just reviewed this one I got for my FK8. I'm not a brand ambassador, manufacturer etc. It's so easy for you to go on their website and see what they have for sale.
Does it support SiriusXM?
Does the parking lines follow the position of the sterling wheel in rear cam/ rear gear? Like OEM? (Parking help) And does it show like OEM headunit where something is (parking sensors front (facelift) and back sensors?) Which core is that? Px5 or px6 or snapdragon?
The lines move with the steering wheel, but I don't know anything about parking sensors. I don't think my 2020 has that
@@MuffinMan0521 so than yours is not a facelift fk8?
@@MrAuhue mine's a 2020, I'm just not familiar with all the 1000 features it has :)
Did it work with the fk8 facelift? Did it work with fk8 europ and oem external dsp?
If you go to the 16:15 mark in this video he shows how to change to F° th-cam.com/video/XHBCnbGHo_4/w-d-xo.html
I must have missed that. Thanks
I took a closer look at his Factory menu and the options display there are totally different.
I have an 2019 civic sport that I want an aftermarket system and I have been told they is no harness available so I am just stuck with the OME................
This unit probably works for it. Check the product page and reference the back of yours to determine which harness you need.
What do the optional accessories do? It’s probably self explanatory but thought I’d ask.
They aren't accessories for the headunit as you'd expect. Like the TPMS are just bluetooth valve stem caps and a phone app, for instance.
@@MuffinMan0521 so since you can’t calibrate the tire pressure this is how they are going about it basically?
Awesome video. How do I get the viewing angles to display when I'm in backup mode?
You'll have to ask support. Mine worked out of the box.
2:27 hmm that's weird. Mine has Fahrenheit
Do you need a dash kit to install?
No. It's made for this car. It has bezels on the sides that match the stock look.
Very simple review but went over literally everything that actually matters, no one else has talked about the brightness auto dimming so really good to know! It's weird that all the buttons for the tablet are on the left hand side but the temperature is in C, must be aimed at the euro market. The C works great for me in the UK but those buttons are on the wrong side ideally - suppose I'll have to put up with it You've also introduced me to a new climate switch I haven't seen before, can't wait to actually push buttons to make my fans speed up and slow down!
I'm assuming they decided the LHD market was their primary money maker and making a right side control version wasn't practical.
I have this on my 2018 Honda Civic hatchback sport. It genuinely impresses me how good it works, especially when you update its firmware. You can change the F and C by a toggle in settings but I absolutely hate the AC overlay so I disabled it in settings (ac controls have a screen on 2018 model). Just about everything is customizable. My biggest complaint has got to be the home screen itself in it's android form. The widgets on the front are completely fake and you cannot delete them or add any new ones.
Installed mine last night on my 21 Type R. Super easy install, looks and functions amazing. 100% recommended.
Are you getting power to your rear sub, and also can you see the oil life indicator on the dash? I installed mine a couple days ago and can't get these functions.
@@vroomn_fl5did u fix the sub issue?
@@johnfromschool yes, I emailed Joying and they told me I needed to change 2 of my wired connections. I made the changes and it's worked perfectly.
How about the auto rev system?
@@ac47956 works. but you cant toggle it
Did the AutoRev Function still remain in this Head Unit?
I didn't know the old one allowed you to toggle that. This one retains it, but there isn't any setting to turn it on or off. It's just on.
Can you watch Netflix on this ? & also does the oil , TPS settings , gas mileage cluster still show ?
Can you also still reset the oil ?
They still show on the cluster, but the unit doesn't have a way to calibrate the TPS to remove the light. You either have to use a scan tool or temporarily replace the unit with the old one. Annoying, but what this is used for regularly, it's a nice upgrade.
@@MuffinMan0521 damn no tpms recalibration? That's a deal breaker for me cause I always have to do it 🥲
I contacted joying and they explained how to reset tpms: Car info > turn right enter camera > tire pressure calibration
Installed this on my 2020 type R. When using wireless CarPlay from my iPhone 14 pro max after a while the screen pixelates then I change screen go back it works…does this happen to you?
That did happen occasionally initially. Maybe happened a total of 7 times and then never again.
@@MuffinMan0521 thank you for the reply. It has happened to me already 5x 😅 clearly it’s a wireless CarPlay thing becuz I minimize the screen and pixelation goes away but does come back hopefully it stops
hello friend, thanks for the video. could you clear me a doubt that no one has shown in any video, the cluster information like navigation, phone, bluetooth, and song names are still shown in the cluster?
@@Naiteification I can tell you the navigation goes away you will not see that anymore just a spinning circle for Bluetooth I haven’t tried checking if name comes out on cluster either. Being honest I don’t ever use cluster other then to check my oil or keep it at the how much range I have
@@mybloodtype_r Companies clearly have a really tough time implementing wireless carplay properly. I don't think anyone has mastered it yet.
If you can put an installation video that would be great. I was looking at this same unit but I wasn’t sure how it would be to install it on a type r.
There are a 1000 videos on youtube that tell you how to install an aftermarket head unit. You can even find ones for 10th gen civics that show you how to take apart the trim pieces. There's no value in making a video for a type r.
Does the navigation and car play info still show on your digital speedometer? It's the one thing holding me back. I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere.
No it doesn't. I don't use my cluster for that. There is a huge screen just to the right that shows all of that information and more.
@@MuffinMan0521 yeah I get it, I have something like this in my other vehicle and I love it. I'm undecided. Thanks for the info!
@@Seanzaldo if you are fine with the stock system then just keep it since it integrates so well with the vehicle. Mine kept crashing and I was tired of poor wireless carplay experiences.
@@MuffinMan0521 in the Control settings I believe there is a faction called " Tachometer Display" Which you can turn on. but I'm unsure what functionalities this enables. I would love to know
Finally someone who has the type r. How is the install? Im thinking of buying one for my R .
It's easy, it's all plug n play. I didn't need to reuse 2 of the brackets from the old radio.
