He also had eye of the tiger by survivor played as he went into the church. That was a nod to my nephew age 23 who past away June 2018 from suicide. Well rock 'n roll was influenced by people of all races but I do know that a lot of people did get their influence from black folks. Jazz and R & B played a big part of influencing rock music. And he isn't making it a race thing because he's telling the truth. But then there is music from all over the world that helped to shape the rock era.

He doesn't listen to current artists like Lil Pump and Ariana Grande, he listens to Led Zeppelin. Sure he is a cool guy but will he ever change?" I would hear these things a lot. Last time I heard it and I just kept on walking. Sometimes a walk in life must be walked in solitude, in honour to be walked at all. Sure I looked cool but my music was different. Being 17 and having people ask why I listen to different music I would say "Just leave my music man, I like it" and I would just keep on walking even though i'm just 17!

John Bonham was massively intellectual on the drums. Every part and every fill made sense and was carefully considered so as to compliment the song and follow its own internal, consistent logic. The unique and quirky bass drums fills on Kashmir. Never deviates. It follows internal logic.

@@hseo8 I don't think anything is wrong with them not really listening to or liking this kind of music though. People like what they like and there is great musicality even in the modern songs today. It doesn't automatically make them have lesser taste in music for not liking older songs. Maybe the generations that come after us will rock to our music now. I'm just saying, I often see these comments with teens saying they appreciate this kind of music but their friends don't. But, as cool as this music is, it doesn't make one cooler to be able to appreciate it. Also, it doesn't make one less cool to not see the beauty that you see. We all have different perceptions and different tastes, none of that makes us lesser or greater than another.❤
2:23 because that contrasting tone and percussive buildup is very important to the presentation. It's like the difference between a plated meal and one dropped on the table. Or the difference between the picture of a plane crash and a 2 second video clip that begins while the plane is still whole right before it explodes. Lol... we get it though.
And though they some of the greats, this was more commonplace than not (okay maybe not this great). As it was just about every single, album and artist in that period had passion and greatness, no matter what genre. A very competitive time in music that I say lasted from 63 to 82. 66-74 being the creamy center. Lol.

I recommend Moby Dick, the version from "The Song Remains Thee Same" it is a 10+ minutes lesson on what a drum solo should sound like. No thrashing and smashing just pure music. Even better through noise cancelling head phones full blast, so loud you brake into a sweat. Sheer bliss 😎
Exactly 50 years ago my friend had me listen to the studio cut off the album. I’ve never been the same. I just listened to it again with my head phones and realize how incredible Bonham was. His lead into Jimmy’s solo was great. His input into this classic was huge. But then Jimmy’s riff comes in and you go into a complete zone and are oblivious to anything other than his guitar. But it took all four to make this track a classic.
Ya know Led Zeppelin and a few other iconic groups led me to learn guitar...1977..I can remember what my guitar instructor always said "never lose tempo" I let him listen to Bonham, it blew his mind...syncopation within syncopation he replied...and shortly after, I tried to keep the tempo with the drummer..was not easy ...I would slap my hands on that dash board and stomp my feets til I got it...I think that Zeppelin was/is the greatest rock band ever

The greatest rock band to ever rock the planet...
You wanna hear the instrumental version of this with all the overlaying and dubbing ! It’s incredibly complex and nuanced though most of it you can’t hear when Robert is singing, it all adds to the layers of the cake that is this masterpiece. It’s no accident that this song sounds so good !

@Buford Montgomery that's because he keeps time with Jimmy's guitar rather than everyone else following his lead

My dad had this played at his funeral in November 2020 after his battle with prostate cancer. Was amazing how everyone started to smile and laugh. He also had eye of the tiger by survivor played as he went into the church. That was a nod to my nephew age 23 who past away June 2018 from suicide. They use to sing it together. He also played Waterfall by Jimi Hendrex.Holding back the years Simply Red and when he was leaving the church Spirit in the sky Norman Greenbaum. Dad loved all kinds of music. I am lucky to have grown up in the 80s listening to these songs. All thanks to my amazing dad.He would of had more songs but the service wasn't long enough. He use to loved ACDC Thunderstruck so was suprised he didn't include that.I played him that song hours before he passed away.Always grateful for his love of music.

So strange, I just cam from listening to thunderstruck and then this and now your comment
The most wonderful thing about Led Zeppelin is that they all got along so well. They really loved each other, and it shows.
Very true. An insightful fact. They were never plagued by the the types of in-fighting that most other bands suffer with.
Your both very wrong , am one of the biggest zeppelin fans , ego was big part , page wanted control and plant wanted out of the band after the third album , today page and plant hardly speak to each other

Where could I hear it?
Ya know Led Zeppelin and a few other iconic groups led me to learn guitar...1977..I can remember what my guitar instructor always said "never lose tempo" I let him listen to Bonham, it blew his mind...syncopation within syncopation he replied...and shortly after, I tried to keep the tempo with the drummer..was not easy ...I would slap my hands on that dash board and stomp my feets til I got it...I think that Zeppelin was/is the greatest rock band ever
