Hey everyone, if you haven't noticed it yet; I uploaded a similar video like this one for The Lost World: Jurassic Park ARCADE! Be sure to check it out! --Link: th-cam.com/video/fuTI9wCdVEk/w-d-xo.html
This game was something else. The intensity was just nerve destroying. And looking back its funny that literally every dinosaur on the island wanted you dead. By the end of the game you have single handedly wiped out the whole dino population.
Nah. The dinos are just misunderstood. They're just trying to live on the island man, hah. They aren't wiped out, since you're using Tranqs. They just get put back in containment.
When I was little I would play this every time I went to chucke cheeses. Granted, it scared the shit out of me, but I still wanted to try it every time for some reason.
Something else to mention about the T Rex's vision In the original book, the reason the T Rex's vision was movement based was because of the frog DNA. The dinosaurs had all sorts of issues in the book due to frog DNA, understimulation, and overall poor care. Also, "they're tranquilizer guns....that destroy stone....yeahhhhhhhh"
Well actually, in the original novel, only five of the fifteen dinosaur species on the island incorporated frog DNA, and the T-Rex was NOT one of those five species. I didn't pick up that detail until probably the third time that I read the novel.
There’s a couple of inconsistencies like that. There’s a male and female Dilophosaurus during the river scene doing a courtship dance, despite the fact that the Dilophosaurs didn’t have frog DNA either.
Everything from music, to the graphics and how they looked ahead of it's time for '93, to gameplay, this is one of my favorite railgun shooters of all time.
I can recall my four year old mind being absolutely captivated by every detail of this arcade unit. From the colors and design elements of the machine itself, to the beautiful log scrolling in game.
I use to play this at Chuck E. Cheese too! Sadly they got rid of it though. I remember playing this game with my cousin and we bring all of our token with us so we could beat the whole game. Ah, the memories!
The dilophosaurs always creeped me out when I played this game, the way they'd just lose color completely and lie on the ground twitching uncontrollably once they were defeated. It was seriously disturbing. Maybe the tranquilizer venom is having a bad reaction with their own paralyzing venom? Who knows, it's creepy as hell either way.
8:24 with the benefit of subsequent play throughs, you go from thinking that the T Rex stalking you across the island feels contrived, to realizing that this is subtle foreshadowing that there are two Rexes on the island.
dezinfectant it was built on a big ass arcade machine 😂😂😂 anything that big definitely had graphics ahead of its time . I’m also throwing that bone to killer instinct and tekken on the arcade machines as well
This game was my childhood I remember wanting to go to chucke cheeses just for this also their great pizza too XD I'm not kidding their pizza is still really good like Pizza Hut good I went to a few of my cousins birthdays when I was growing up meaning they had most of their birthdays at that same chucke cheeses I also remember storing up my tokens just for this game it ate like 10 of my tokens XD
Why this isn't getting more views or like is beyond me. Nice work, plus it was pretty nostalgic seeing this game takes me back to my time at Chuck E. Cheese's.
Animefanboy4life If I had to guess? Probably some sort of mounted belt fed Vulcan Cannon, loaded with dart projectiles. That could be a thing...? They probably happen to have just enough ammo for the mission.
Always made me laugh when I heard a girl scream during the second and final T-Rex encounters. I always thought it was the guy you were playing as in the game. I'm guessing since Dr. Grant and Ellie are seen in the ending, the two tagged along with the two commandos and Ellie was the screamer.
This game used to terrify me as a kid. Nowadays I play it all the time through MAME. If you're ever curious as to where Raw Thrills got the inspiration for when they made their version in 2015, look to this game and The Lost World: Jurassic Park.
This went past my homepage for some reason and it unlocked a core memory of my childhood, a very long time ago. I loved watching other dudes play this in the arcade, one time I saw a big muscular dude wearing a tank top that used both sticks at once, looking exactly like the kinda commando the players are supposed to be. Never could play it myself, because the bloody opening act was a T-Rex chasing you, and my little kiddie heart just couldn't handle that, but now I can. Thanks mate.
I had the fight or flight kick in as a kid, but when the bench seat moved during gameplay I just thought it was too cool to stop playing. Back in the day, I only got as far as the legs stomping around lol
Your commentary made me imagine the hilarity of an interactive CD- Rom happily narrating a tour while the Jeep is being attacked by every force of nature.

Thank you for uploading this! Man, this brings back so much memories from when I was kid. I remember the music for this game being super loud and that use to freak me out. I think I spent $ 20 dollars on this one arcade machine just to beat, and I did . I remember the ending where Trex goes to sleep lol.

Sadly, the center defunct after few years and I couldn't find a second arcade machine (I'm in Vietnam, so these games are pretty rare, especially old Japan arcade games).
Well, actually I think you shouldn't have shot the Ichtyosaurs even if they're just tranquilizers- Ichthyosaurs still needed to breathe air and, if they're sedated and underwater, they'd drown.
+bryceh59 Well, thanks for making me feel even worse now for shooting it... I'm just gonna say that even though I accidentally may have shot a few; its ok because they didn't get enough sedation to pass out, and they just feel sluggish for awhile. They're fine now though.
This game was like the pinnicle of sprite based games. They were able to get much better looking graphics than the 3d games of the time. I feel like house of the dead should have been made this way
This game is phenomenal!! I remember seeing this at Chuckie Cheese as well. The first movie is always the best! It always shocked me to see how much larger herbivores are, compared to carnivores. The Brachiosaurus was 20 times larger than the Tyrannosaurus Rex. It’s like a Cape buffalo to a lion.
This brings back a lot of childhood memories.... They don't dinosaur themed arcade games like they use to. Rest in peace original Jurassic Park Arcade game.
I never understood why is there a high pitched screeching noise when the second T Rex shows up in the final fight, and it even emits it at some points during it. :/
Playing it at the arcade, Chuck-e-Cheese or wherever, this game was impossible to beat playing only 1 player unless you had like $50 worth of quarters. I remember it being a very expensive game to play in which you would die like every 35 seconds with the amount of dinos thrown at you.
QuickStix26 It also depended on who owned the game, they could change the cost settings in the test menu. Hopefully they had the credit settings low. As a kid, my local Chuck E. Cheese was 1 token = 1 credit.
I never knew that you were shooting tranquilizer darts in this game, but given the rating of the game, I understand why they did it. Regardless, this was still one of my favorite games to play at Chuck E. Cheese's. Great job.
The movement for the dinosaurs on this game is better in my opinion then the newer version. I personally like this game better. The way the Dinos move In this game makes it scarier. That (for me) makes it fun.

Kevyn The DevylMan the one in the long beach, CA area has the new school version of this. IMHO, same sort of style and feel of the 1994 version, even as soon as you step into the cockpit.
This was my childhood everytime I went to a chuck e cheese I had to play this game with my dad at least once before we left or I'd leave unhappy. Man such nostalgic and wonderful memories come flooding back with this one, wish they'd create an offical port for consoles and pc.
I had no idea this game existed, I never ever saw it in any arcade place (Im from Mexico, btw) but im sure it was a blast playing it in the cabinet, and man, those dinosaurs look really good, for a game of that age. And that T-rex looks amazing and terrifying! Thanks for the video, dude. You have put a smile on my face.
I played this very game at my local Chuck E. Cheese’s. When I was a little kid in the 2000’s, I was always scared to sit down next to the arcade cabinet while it was playing. I was always scared of the predator dinosaurs, especially the T-Rex. This game still creeps me out to this day… in a god way. Looking back, the game was fun, and it was one of the very best games to play at Chuck E. Cheese’s.
Goodness the memories! This game would always scare the shit out of me because of the creepy Continue screen music. So much so, that I never played it. It was after I got older I got the nerve of playing it. I wonder what they did to the cabinets after they were taken away? Hopefully not destroyed, makes me wonder how much they go for a working one. What a blast from the past though, thank you for the upload and great commentary! :D
I love how you added in facts etc about the game and the dinosaurs Especially Dilophosaurus, people tend to forget how much they changed that and even Velociraptors
Jon Murphy What can I say? I like dinos, and glad you enjoyed it. Also love the ones portrayed in the movies, and the DNA theories on why they look/are different is an interesting read.
Part of why the Raptors are so big in the movie is because in some scenes they are portrayed by people in costumes, so the costumes had to be big enough for the actors to fit inside them. The original book didn’t describe the Raptors being as big as they were in the movie, making them out to be the size of wolves. This was due to Michael Crichton getting his dinosaur information for a less than reliable source. His source was an outspoken paleontologist who considered the Velociraptor to be a form of larger dinosaur called deinonychus, and Crichton just went with a cooler name. The tyrannosaurus having vision based on movement was something explained better in the book. In that the vision was the side effect of some of the toad DNA coming from species with vision based on movement.
I just imagined getting chased by a T-Rex in a endless loop while raining just running with no vehicle and the T-Rex running this fucking fast as hell. Also if by any chance you rip out the T-Rex chase theme I would be happy because I cannot find any T-Rex chase soundtrack from the arcade instead I hear the soundtracks from the movies and not the arcade game itself which is this one and I want to download it to my psp for some reason.

Looking back, the game was fun, and it was one of the very best games to play at Chuck E. Cheese’s.
Man should've called these 3 agents in jurassic world xD, would've got everything under control,
Basically the entire plot of Jurassic world Fallen Kingdom: 10:46
The second rex that shows up with Rexy near the end was most likely a grown up version of the juvenile from the original novel by Michael Crichton.
6:49 YABBA DABBA DOOOOO!
I love driving up the Brachiosaur and taking a flying jump. "The Duke boys were sure in a whole heap o' trouble this time"
I rember when I played this game at Las Vegas a long time ago...
ARWEI0 me too!!!
Has anybody played this arcade game back in February 1997?
thanks for the nostalgia. I remember chuck e cheeses. having a blackout while me and my cousin were trying to beat the game
That T-Rex face scares the shit out.of me!
Great example of a game that is fun to play through. Not too hard. Just fun
Can anybody give me the link where I can download this for Mac?
this was a great vid. loved the tid bits of commentary. educational yet not annoying
+Jack Mcloud Thanks. I've always thought LPs should be more about the game itself, not the player.
But that's just my take on the matter.
+ARWEI0 Exactly! If I want to hear some kid point out every "funny" thing he finds, I have plenty other options
Chuck E Cheese anyone?
Yep, that’s my childhood memory playing Jurassic Park in Chuck E. Cheese
Cc thanks :)
Linda Ultreras You're welcome, hope you enjoyed the vid!
The soundtrack on 2:15 has a melody that resembles Flight of the Bumblebee.
***** Someone else asked about the soundtrack from this game too. I am trying to work something out, and hopefully plan on uploading it soon.
Whoaa whoa?
Okkk?
Man somebody should give the driver a raise. Because the guy drive through Jurassic Park like a champ.
Do Sega's Arcade game: Magical Truck Adventure :)
ErnestoXO With dinosaurs.
