Great gun, cleaning is a nightmare, I flush it 35 times and still shake out paint from the rear holes in the inlet. A garden hose connection woulda been nice.
I've been having the same issue. It takes me about 40 minutes to get it clean enough tand I can't seem to figure out how to expedite the process. I always clean the cup first and I take the filter off the bottom to clean it before putting water through and it still always takes forever.
@@megalodon6789 I do the same, it takes about 6 fresh cups of water to get it to run clear. After I'm done I store it with a cup/liner dedicated for pump armor. I guess it's about half full.
My local volunteer group uses a pair of these guns to paint over graffiti and they have performed well. We only use exterior latex paint and find water to be a suitable cleaning solution. I did find the part about if after cleaning the spray tip and still needing to clean the pump removing the tip to prevent excessive wear interesting. The owner's manual 3A4476G pg. 22 also recommends 15-second spray times instead of 5 seconds. Since we are not overly concerned with the quality of the finish making the guns operate and last is our main concern.
Matthew Morrison if you’re spraying water based paint then you would use warm water. If oil pases paint then of course mineral spirits or paint thinner.
What would be awesome is a twist connection exactly like the paint cup has that attaches to a garden hose. a permanent regulator could be installed to reduce the pressure from 40psi if need be.
What happens if I leave the sprayer overnight ready to paint for the morning? Would the pump get damage because of holding the pressure for a long time?
Maybe, but if taken care of properly the cordless ultra is awesome. After a thorough cleaning I store it with a dedicated cup and liner half full of pump armor. It beats having to clean a 25' hose for small, occasional jobs.
What cleaning product is safe to remove dried latex from the main body of the sprayer? Is Goof Off okay or will it attack the plastic? Oil based jobs are easy to clean up with mineral spirits, but latex paint is a nightmare. I spent well over an hour scrubbing off latex paint and my spray gun still looks like crap? I really need some good advice, please.
All of our shrouds are tested for resistance to most chemicals in cleaning products. I don't have a recommendation of a specific product that works best and I haven't heard about Goof off yet. Important to avoid products that are too alkali.
I’ve had nothing but trouble with these, recently purchased the newest version of them for about 650$ 😅 worked for about 3 months and now it’s like stuck in prime mode 😓
When cleaning my gun it doesn’t like to spray the water out after priming the water through, It happens every time and I watch this video every time, sometimes it sprays the water out but it really gets to me, apart from that the gun is fantastic, any help would be great thanks
I just used a new cup the last time I used it , i did change the plastic vent out too I'm going take it apart and replace the white oring on the top of the cup , and clean the exhaust valves I have about 8 gallons through it
Thats begining of the pump goin bad,.my lasted 11 months,it was doing the same thing, eventually didnt spray at all at settings lower than 5 and even past 5 it was inconsistent, last product sprayed was stix primer,urethane... did not thin at all...funny it died right after i finished sprayin cabinets when cleaning the gun.... got new pump and it works excelent.. ill definetly be thinnin all products from now, never sprayed any oils through it.. fflp tips...cleaned maticolously every time, cleaned only with warm water .. hopefully it wont happen 11 months from now again, end of the day its 700$ toy
I just followed this instructions but it turned into a disaster as the cleaning fluid and paint purchased in Lowes turned into a chewing gum substance that clocked up everything rather than thinning the paint. Valspar SeasonFlex + Crown Brush Cleaner = toxic chewing gum. This was recommended by the Lowes "paint specialist" for a paint gun. Crap, obviously I should have used whatever really thins the paint to it's thinnest. Actually water is better and I totally wasted money. Of course I should have known better. Now I've spent perhaps 1.5 hours on cleaning what I can access without disassembling the entire gun but it is still clogged completely inside and I can see this thick chewing gum latex substance stuck inside.
You are actually cleaning a perfectly clean unit. How about using the damn thing on a job then try to clean it. Thats what we all have to do. Its almost impossible to clean fully.
Great pump but the worst cup/container and the worst cleaning. I have to think 10 times before picking it up for a smaller project as it takes MORE time and effort to clean than to spray.
Nope. Paint Contractor here. I have 2, use them all the time on small projects, very quick and easy to clean. Used properly, this little guys are fantastic. And replacing a pump is easy and only a couple hundred $. Of course, anything medium to larger on project scope, use a larger system.
With a product at this price level you should expect a pro tool - the cleaning process is a disaster and it easily takes up to half an hour. Please Graco - come up with a better solution.

I don't run 6 full cups through, I run it about 10 seconds per clean cup/liner.
Ultimately, these things are pieces of schitt. I am anal about thoroughly cleaning out my sprayers and I have still killed two of these things. 🤬🤬🤬

What is considered an "appropriate cleaning fluid"? I have an Ultra. Just warm water or soapy water or something else? More details please!
I always strain laxtex paint every time I fill a cup/liner. Never had a problem with clogs.
Excellent product.
what are the appropriate cleaning fluids?

@@angelicoutcry3478 agree.... the cleaning process as-is leaves much to be desired. it's error prone and not user friendly at all.

Yes to what you say if you're totally new to any kind of spraying.
Hi, which flp would you recommend for water based outdoor lacquer paint?

Me too , mine was 1200$ in Canada and it's a nightmare...
Yeah ours worked for 3 cups then will no longer spray tried cleaning it with arm water.. but I think the pump plugged and a new pump is almost 200$

Naw, I watched this video, used water and cleaned it in like 5 minutes. What I learned was to use the gun for large projects.

Poor machine, No quality as it said. Broken down at first day use, results for water based oil was horrible.
Water based oil? 😅
takes too long to clean.. too complicated
Gosh, why not clean the cup before cleaning the gun? The rest would go quickly. Shouldn't take more than a few minutes.
@@edwaggonersr.7446 honestly, overthought cleanup process
My thoughts exactly. The process is harder to remember than an nintendo cheat code.
