    I've never left a message online before for anything, but I've just finished watching your video and I thought it was excellent. I live in Port Talbot and I ride the Afan Valley all the time. Lovely to see you finish up on Aberavon sea front and great to see some of the other great sites through Wales. Brilliant video, brilliant ride and it's given me some ideas for doing something similar, just not all in one go. Well done and thanks again.

    well done, crazy distance, maybe a 2x setup on the bikes would have been better than a 1x for mixed terrain, and keeping up cadence? would have hurt less...

      It was perfect dry and not to hot. Strada Florida was not to wet. Fern Gully was a nightmare, and we should of not done the Black mountain section as it turned into a 3hr push and carry. Apart from that a wicked route. Nick

    just came across this, jeez you guys were hardcore. Funny hearing Strata Florida mentioned - the toughest ride I've ever done was an 8 hour loop starting and ending at Strata Florida. Some local on a cycling forum reckoned it was an easy ride he did with his 8 year old girl so I thought it would be a piece of P. Started with a climb followed by a shallow descent that forded a small river at least 12 times. Cue frozen soaking wet feet. I wonder if that's the same as the flooded track in this film. I also made the mistake of thinking I'd be able to buy food and drink on the way so took hardly anything, but as you guys found out its a complete wilderness. The ride had everything - hail, puncture, a pack of savage sheep dogs, nightmare. Must go back and do it again some time, this time avoiding the wet bits

    Any chance you can make a video about preparing/equipping a bike for adventure riding? Specifically the type of bags and options? I'm not even sure where to start, from the type of options out there. I'm not looking to carry a tent or anything (planning on hotels instead), but a change of clothes and some shoes, spares, would be a nice start.

    If you had to do it again, would you switch the seat pack against a rucksack? The seat bag doesn't look very practical too me, especially not during the push sections... In addition, switching a rucksack would allow to use of a dropper seat post..

    You should come to the US and do a coast to coast. If you can make it from the coast of northern Washington state to the tip of Florida in a day then, and only then, will I be truly impressed. Maybe even the tip of Alaska to the tip of Florida in a day. That would be a true epic ride.

      Cheers Adam, I think for this kind of length of time it’s mainly about eating what you can stomach. I’ve made myself horrifically ill on cycling specific fuel in the past. I do still use it racing where the seconds count but we were in no rush on this ride with all the photo shoots for MBUK along the way 😊

    • @richardm9688
      @richardm9688 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      At 7:00 you can see its the Exposure Maxx-D. I think this is better (for my riding) as the bottom led lens sends out more of a beam to light up more of the road near to you while the other 3 leds are for seeing into the distance. I'm not sure if I've explained that very well? Check out road.cc if you want to see their latest light comparison. They have a whole bunch of Exposures in their line up.

    • @tdwragg
      @tdwragg 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Joe was using a MaXx D and i was running the Six Pack, both were great, we never needed to run them on full power so the MaXx D was probably the preferred choice. Both paired with Diablo helmet light that we ran on low unless it got very techy.

    What's the deal with UK channels and not using proper gyros on their camera equipment? Even beginner riders here in the US seem to know how to properly setup a camera with a nice $200 gyro that is smooth and comfortable to watch. I can't even watch this video because it's an instant migraine with all of the shaking and vibrations.
