Really enjoyed this, this what i call MTB, i love hitting trig points and this can include road, gravel, mud, hike a bike, marsh lands all in one day, good job Rich i know that feeling of an empty tank in the hills, and also I started us google earth and komoot for planning trips, get an idea of steep hills an terrain
I did Whitehaven to Scarborough MTB in 3 days. Loved every minute of it with some brutal climbs & quality downhills. It had stunning scenery & have to say it was an epic ride 🚵🏼♂️🏅🙌🏼
Rat Race the Crossing? Did this in 2018. Think I prefer that route to Richies route. 🤣 Awesome ride. Some tough climbs and great scenery as you say. Pity about the weather on day one!!! 🤣
@@NZWozza yes it was the crossing. Great event. it was day 2 where the weather was horrendous for us thou. Still loved the experience thou & would defo do it again. Yeah Rich’s ride looks evil in places. Hats off 🙌🏼🏅
Well that was definitely an epic ride and achievement Rich 👊 It's great when you plan a route and the bridleways aren't what they used to be or not used and totally overgrown 😂 Awesome stuff Rich and #GMBN 👊 🤘 😎
Well done son! It's a pity they cut it down to 2 days! You could have done more filming and mountain riding etc. And, not been quite so knackered at the end!
Love the GMBN epic rides and this one really put the E in epic. Of course riding in that part of the world, the E would be followed by, "by gum". Superb effort Rich. Well done mate!
Epic job Rich. Those fells are brutal when you are pushing your bike up them and a lot of the down-hills aren't exactly an easy ride either! Great job. Having to set-up your own shots on the hardest parts of the ride can't have helped either! Awesome!
Richard Payne I look forward to it. My first trip to the fells on an MTB was in 1988! I had a Raleigh Technium which was a tiny bit too big for me. I set off from Ravenglass with a map and compass and ended up on the top of Scafell! I thought I was somewhere completely different for most of the climb! I upped my navigation skills after that one. The rough downhills managed to break the strap of my watch too, so I had no idea of time either and I had to catch a train back home to Blackburn later that afternoon. Happy days! Lol!
Good effort mate! Always worth using a satellite overlap to see what is shown on the map is actually on the ground. Can be useful, as well, for seeing the surface you'll be riding on, so you can gauge how hard or easy it will be. Great video, love this kind of content.
What a journey! To go that far in 2 days... and filming content along the way... EPIC! One helluva journey and good on you for sticking with it and finishing regardless of the punishing terrain!!
That was fun for me at least! Thanks Rich! When its not my beloved French press coffee, my favorite tea is Irish Breakfast with just a bit of milk and sometimes honey.
He didn't he had a crew with him, they would of been riding at certain points to record Rich and plus that's where he would of got his food and water top ups. Did you not notice that when Rich wasn't wearing his jacket he wasn't carrying it. He does mention the crew also
@@the_spanner_ch7mp OP: "putting up a camera, and then needing to go back and pick it up again.." You: "He didn't he had a crew with him" 3:27 - watch for 10 seconds
Well GMBN, that was one of the best videos you've done!! That could have been twice the length and still impressively entertaining. Well done!! Right up there with Blakes mega avalanche on a hardtail series.
Definitely Sechuan style green tea laced with jasmine. Preferably as large leaves straight in the bottom of the mug so you can just top it up as you go.
Wow man that's an epic adventure if I ever saw one. Stunning beautiful places and a really brutal first day. Hope you enjoyed and thanks for sharing. And earl gray is also my favourite tea :D
Respect man ! I hope I could ride in yorkshire hills, going through them for my work quite often but in a cab unfortunately. They are attractive and beautifull.
I tried there and back in 24 hours on a road bike a few years ago. It would have been okay but we had rubbish weather and so many issues with tyres and route finding. Always wanted to do the MTB route.
great video and excellent work doing the epic 2days. Looking forward to doing the same ride next year with my son, i think we will give ourselves an extra day or 2 though!!
Nice video, maybe one day you can film how do you film your videos, a little behind the scenes of how you do it and how long it really takes. Not this long one of course but its and idea, and you can show how you camera man work. Planing the video, how many days, how...
Wow this is so wonderful and inspiring. 10:15 Btw, look at the guys in the back who raised their head to see what's going on :D And I didn't know the real English would say "sheeps" ;)
GMBN Should do a day in the life of the camera man
They should give the camera crew e-bikes
@@djnguyen4357 The crew who filmed Rich teaching his Dad, had an e-bike!
Hid Dad even said to Rich, "Isn't that cheating?"!
@@djnguyen4357 they do
both of them must be supermen
v impressed
I have done the coast to coast on a mountain bike and remember some of those hikes, had some great downhills as well, took me 5 days
My dad did this in '92 on a fully rigid Kona Cindercone and with all his gear on his back!
Legend. I did it on a fully rigid Zaskar in about '94. Epic route.
Oh
Pfff.. I did it on a penny farthing while carrying 9 kids and the wife, after a 14hr shift down the pits
@@dougiegraham662 Pffff! You're lucky you have a job!

Rich, you’re insane. I love these videos of the ridiculous challenges you get and still deliver above and beyond performance. Keep it up man!

Tremendous respect Rich.
Epic ride Rich. 🤜
GREAT JOB 👍🏾👍🏾. Thanks for sharing. I dig the Earl Gray the most.✌🏾
Man alive. I know about it on the MTB after 20 miles. Live in Yorkshire and know your pain. Builders tea like a scone with jam and clotted cream.👍
What a fantastic Garmin!
Cool video Rich,👍😎 that was an epic ride and gorgeous views!💯 It could have been worse for ya tho... could have been on an ebike😆
My favourite tea is coffee. With a scone not a "scone" Cream first the jam.
Hello fellow American!
I like starting with coffee, then moving to tea later
Pumpkin Spice Latte right meow!
Great effort Rich!!
Solid Effort.
Champion effort Rich!
There's only one kind of tea worth suppin' and it's yorkshire tea!
Thanks Rich. My favourite tea is spiced chai and I definitely won’t be going on any trips like that... now.
full respect to you on doing that ride
Monster ride Rich, great vid . Well done .
Definitely Sechuan style green tea laced with jasmine. Preferably as large leaves straight in the bottom of the mug so you can just top it up as you go.
Rich = Ironman!
Awesome video Ritch, by the way favourite tea is English Breakfast and a full packet of custard creams 👌
Earl grey?! You savage. Also, well done on the mega ride. Another quality film. 👍
Wow man that's an epic adventure if I ever saw one. Stunning beautiful places and a really brutal first day. Hope you enjoyed and thanks for sharing. And earl gray is also my favourite tea :D
GMBN you need to do a video on how you film your videos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well done I was just knackered watching you climb those hills👍🥺
Very nice trails & nice video GMBN 🤙
Tea: Jasmine Green Tea, or Earl Grey
Those were some insane distances in the saddle!
Epic ride! And my favourite tea is spicy chai with a splash of half and half.
Epic! Great effort 👍🙌
Looks like Hank and Ollie had it easy doing the Coast to Coast. At least Rick knows what a "chippy tea" is.
I'm not so sure, they did do it in a day, but having hike-a-biked up those mountains since the late 80's, I know it's epically hard!
Great effort Rich, love the adventure videos, brilliant stuff👌 💪
Enjoyed it wish it had been longer though maybe 5-6 episodes.
All of this and don’t forget he had to keep walking back down and then up to get the camera. All about the angles
Nice to see my local ride area Guisboro Woods and the moors around there. It's Danny Harts local too.
Respect man ! I hope I could ride in yorkshire hills, going through them for my work quite often but in a cab unfortunately. They are attractive and beautifull.
I lad you’d better get yourself up to the dales
dik fik , thanks mate , added to bucket list
I did this in 2010 and still have nightmares about it 😮 took us 4 days and well over 200 miles and 12 hour days in the saddle and bike on the back.
The number one thing you need is a saddle that’s comfortable. It’s the only thing I struggle with
I tried there and back in 24 hours on a road bike a few years ago.
It would have been okay but we had rubbish weather and so many issues with tyres and route finding.
Always wanted to do the MTB route.
Brilliant, loved this video. Well done, buddy. 👍🤙
Favourite tea: either lemon & ginger or massala. Yea, mixing things up a bit.
I loved the video!!! This style of riding is really cool to watch
Hey Rich great ride right there. My favourite tea is mint tea whit a bit of honey. Cheers
Have you ever wondered what would it be like watching GMBN Presenters Q an A?? uhm... Just Curious. I'd love one!
great video and excellent work doing the epic 2days. Looking forward to doing the same ride next year with my son, i think we will give ourselves an extra day or 2 though!!
Living the dream mate I'm doing that very soon
I ride coast to coast 10 or 15 times a year no sweat
I do live in Cornwall tho 😁
🤣😂👍🎖🏅🏆
I so need to do something like this.
But in the summer and not in 2 days.
Go for it! Solo adventures are so much fun, especially in the sun!
You should try a coast to coast in Australia
thats awesome dude
Awesome. Nice job camera crew.
Great Orbea bikes!!!!!
Great effort
Hopefully your next vid will be on what to check on your bike after a crash coz i just had a pretty bad one lol
With a carbon bike?
Well done rich. Epic 💪
Awww I feel your pain!
Your route planner’s had a shocker!! And the vid totally missed the best riding of the lot, the Dales.
Orbea OIZ is perfect for TRIP like this
