By the third week of May, the days were warmer and sunny, so you’re going at an ideal time for good weather! That said, you’ll be visiting at the start of peak season. Thanks so much for the compliment and for watching :) Your Vaporetto ticket will take you from the airport to Venice, and no additional ticket is required. @@bhumibharadwaj9813 We only took the Vaporetto 3 times during our stay. 1. The Alilaguna from the airport to our Airbnb. 2. A 75-minute pass for the self-guided tour on this video, and 3. A round-trip pass to visit Burano. These are all different tickets, we got with different price points. We decided to skip purchasing a 48-hour pass to walk as much as possible. If walking is not an issue, you can skip purchasing the 48-hour pass and get a 75-minute one. Something to remember, though, is that if you're following this guide, you'll walk for approximately 2 hours ( or more, depending on where you're staying and the order of your stops.) If you guys are ok with that, then walking on foot is the best way to see all of Venice :)
I can't book tickets for Saint Mark's Basilica 😢 Where can I book this. I went into your website and can't seem to find links to any of this places you show us 😔
I hope somebody can answer my question. I haven't been to Italy, but I have been to London, Paris and some town in France. My impression is that Europeans don't really eat, and I had trouble finding food except for lunch and dinner time. If you are hungry in mid morning, mid afternoon or late at night, you are out of luck and out of food. You can't really find food like in Japan or Hong Kong. Is that right? I have a friend who went to Spain and she packed many instant noodles.
@@audreyc3078 Hi Audrey, most restaurants in Italy close for siesta, which is usually between 2-5 pm. You'll find a few places open depending on where you travel to in Italy. Big cities with nightlife open till late, so it's easy to grab food after hours; smaller villages don't. I recommend making reservations when traveling during the high season and trying to have lunch before 2 pm and dinner after 5 pm. Breakfast is really not a big thing in Italy either, but some hotels offer pastries and coffee for breakfast, and of course, you can always visit a local bakery to buy fresh baked goods. I hope this helps! Have a wonderful time in Italy!!
@@audreyc3078 Of course! If you want to snack while sightseeing, then yes! But you can also grab some Italian snacks from the local market and save them for later on.
My husband is a picky eater and would not eat anything probably in a nice restaurant. Would it be problematic if he sat and only ordered a drink and no food? Also many TH-camrs say that if they have a menu other than in Italian that they are not authentic and are made for turists? Did you find that to be the case?
Hi, it honestly depends on what restaurant you visit. I don't see that being a problem for any of the restaurants featured on this vlog. As for language for the menus, I found almost everywhere we went, except for some locations in Florence(Tuscany in general) and smaller villages had menus in both Italian and English. Italy is used to having tourists, so most restaurants will cater to them as well as locals. If you find a spot where the menu is in Italian only, I suggest googling the restaurant's name and taping on the images to see some of the meals offered and show your waiter the dish you'd like. If you're visiting Venice, I have a separate vlog with my top 5 restaurants. These are local spots that range from street food to fine dining, and I highly recommend them :) You'll both love Italy! I wish you a fun and unforgettable journey :)
@@JanethBissdorfvlogs That’s a lot! Check out my pinned comment in this video. There, I have a guided tour that includes several activities (including the gondola ride) for less. Good luck in Venice, and safe travels!!!
We are visiting in a month, do you think we’d be fine not getting a 2-3 day Venice pass for waterways, just pay as we go?? Not sure how this works since we’ve never been here. Thanks in advance
If you don't mind walking, then you'll be fine. That's the way we did it, but we walked a lot! We only purchased the Alilaguna ( from the airport to Cannaregio ), then a 75-minute Vaporetto pass, and the day trip tix for Burano. Only 3 passes were used in this travel guide you just watched :) I hope this helps!!
@@hbwproductions To see the major highlights, yes, but if you have more time to spare, a few extra days is not a bad idea. You can take many day trips to islands like Burano if you get bored of Venice.
The water taxi is more expensive than the water bus. A water bus will cost you about €7.50 for a 75 min unlimited ride. It’s like riding a public bus vs a taxi for example.
Great little tips... I will be there in June 2024. Funny thing, I had chosen the same neighbourhood to stay in. Just one thing thou... the ads in your video are all misleading deep fake A.I videos...

If you love pasta, I recommend trying some “Minestra de Pasta e Fagiou,” a pasta and bean soup. Some great vegan/vegetarian restaurants to check out while in Venice are Osteria La Zucca, La Tecia Vegana, VgOloso, and Frary’s Cucina Mediterranean. I hope this helps :)
We went in May, which usually would be an ideal month to visit Italy. Due to climate change, the weather has been different than in past years, and for us, the first three weeks in May brought a lot of rain and slightly colder-than-average weather. If you do decide to visit in May, I would recommend the last week so you can enjoy the sunshine with less of a crowd. September/ October is also a great time to visit. Summers are hot and crowded, and winters are cold. The only upside to visiting during the winter months (Nov.-Feb) is lower prices and less of a crowd.
The train station is right at the beginning of my suggested self-guided tour. Continue watching the video; I showcase the train station on Google Maps :)

Every time I go to Venice I swear it's the last time. Total tourist overdose. The worst food in Italy, not to mention the price. If you spend the night, boring as hell, because all the ship day tourists are gone, Mestre Italians are gone, bus tourists are gone. But it's peaceful. I always say I'll never go back. But alas, I do
I love Venice, it's so beautiful, but yes it's full of tourists. My favorite restaurant in Venice is on Burano's Venitian island, “Al Gato Nero.” Have you been? Their risotto is out of this world! I highly recommend checking it out. I actually appreciate the tourist-free and quiet nights to hang out in Cannarrgio; the vibe there feels more local and authentic. And I understand you going back, how can you not? Its Venice!! 😎
@@WheretoNau For example you say "Meryl Streep's favorite restaurant" or the place where the seafood is hand picked by the chef daily but you do not say the name of the osteria or whatever it is. You do this throughout the video
Why are all these videos the same? You even suggest things to do but then explain they are super touristy, not worth the money, overrsted... Why then? Show me a place in Venice that is worth it. Not the places every venice video talks about
These videos are all somewhat similar because if you've only got 2 days in Venice, you'll probably want to do many of the same things as everybody else who only has 2 days in Venice. Yes, I wouldn't go out of my way to visit the Acqua Alta bookstore. But it's free and takes 10-15 minutes if you're already in the neighborhood. And you have to admit, the restaurant suggestions are different. I've never seen anyone recommend Frito Inn before. Definitely NOT Meryl Streep's favorite restaurant! Plus Madonna del' Orto. Most Venice videos don't mention that church.

If you find a spot where the menu is in Italian only, I suggest googling the restaurant's name and taping on the images to see some of the meals offered and show your waiter the dish you'd like.
If you're visiting Venice, I have a separate vlog with my top 5 restaurants. These are local spots that range from street food to fine dining, and I highly recommend them :)
You'll both love Italy! I wish you a fun and unforgettable journey :)
Now its cost more the gondola
@@JanethBissdorfvlogs It should still be a fixed price… How much did you pay?
@ 185 euro
Its three choices 95 135 and 190
@@JanethBissdorfvlogs That’s a lot! Check out my pinned comment in this video. There, I have a guided tour that includes several activities (including the gondola ride) for less. Good luck in Venice, and safe travels!!!
Did you use the your phone or a camera ?
For Venice I used my camera.
@@WheretoNau thank you so much! We love walking! Your video was very helpful 😊
@@liebet9491 thank you for watching! I hope you have the best trip ever 🤩
When did you visit Venice. Exact month. And is October a good month to visit venice. Please reply
@@arpitadutta8340 Hi there! I visited Venice in May and yes, October is a great month to visit.
Are the restaurants good with dietary restrictions?
We didn’t make any substitutions while there, but most restaurants have an extensive menu catering to different dietary restrictions.
Hi! We didn't make any substitutions while there, but more restaurants cater to a diverse range of dietary restrictions.
where did u book the secret Doges palace tour?
On their official website. They have the tour daily in 3 languages: English, Spanish, and French.
What is the name of this official site. Is it vivaticket after Muvet to pay?

Good job . Thank you from WINE SHOP VINTIDO .
Hi! Thank you. We can't wait to go back!! :)
Is 48 hours enough?
@@hbwproductions To see the major highlights, yes, but if you have more time to spare, a few extra days is not a bad idea. You can take many day trips to islands like Burano if you get bored of Venice.
What is the difference between the water taxi and water bus? The water taxi is a lot more that's why I ask.
Hi there! Please take a look at the pinned comment. All locations are now listed with links and hotel recommendations :) Enjoy your trip to Venice. -Nau
Do they have vegetarian options for food?
If you love pasta, I recommend trying some “Minestra de Pasta e Fagiou,” a pasta and bean soup. Some great vegan/vegetarian restaurants to check out while in Venice are Osteria La Zucca, La Tecia Vegana, VgOloso, and Frary’s Cucina Mediterranean. I hope this helps :)
@@WheretoNauThank you. It’s useful for me.

What month was your trip?
We went in May, which usually would be an ideal month to visit Italy. Due to climate change, the weather has been different than in past years, and for us, the first three weeks in May brought a lot of rain and slightly colder-than-average weather. If you do decide to visit in May, I would recommend the last week so you can enjoy the sunshine with less of a crowd. September/ October is also a great time to visit. Summers are hot and crowded, and winters are cold. The only upside to visiting during the winter months (Nov.-Feb) is lower prices and less of a crowd.
And if you don t arrive at Marco Polo airport ?!
The train station is right at the beginning of my suggested self-guided tour. Continue watching the video; I showcase the train station on Google Maps :)
Where did you stay ?

You made cannaregio sound Spanish 😂
Believe it or not, if you're looking for a very reasonable bite to eat,,,,go to the Train Station!!!
Where do you stay please
I stayed at an Airbnb in the neighborhood of Cannaregio. Here’s a link to the Airbnb I booked:

Where to stay in Venice unless you love the stench, constant smell of cigs and huge crowds it’s the most over rated place in Italy I have been yet.

Hi beautiful
I'm venetian and I didn't like this video. people shouldn't play the tour guide if they are not prepared. bless the internet and the education 😅
Hi Rebecca, what didn't you like about it?
Too bad you say "I recommend" but don't say the name of what you recommend. Bad form.
Thanks for watching! Can you be more specific about what recommendation you’re looking for?
@@WheretoNau
For example you say "Meryl Streep's favorite restaurant" or the place where the seafood is hand picked by the chef daily but you do not say the name of the osteria or whatever it is. You do this throughout the video
@@debracrestoni1833 there's a pin with the location in the video- the name is there. All the spots have pins with the name of the place.
Very informative video. Thanks!
Thanks for watching!!
