My husband proposed to me in Venice 15 years ago. It wasn’t quite that busy back then, but still very popular. We also went to Murano and watched the horse being sculpted out of glass!! This vlog bought back some lovely memories; thank you 😊
Best Gelato in Italy we had. It was not far from San Marco. It was in the park Park Giardini Marinaresia. A quiet green space in Venice. The gelato came from an old man and a cart. The cart was right outside what seemed to be a convenience shop by a school. My husband and I each got a cone with 3 giant scoops. It cost €3 all together.
You guys are honestly the best travel bloggers I have seen on youtube, you're informative and fun and it really feels as if we're taking the trip with you! Thanks so much for all the hard work you put into your craft! You're a real pleasure to watch:)
Love how she mentioned “ they are a little no -nonsense “ at that shop . Lol . I totally feel you on the pressure of ordering at a new spot, let alone being new to Italy.
Wolters World th-cam.com/video/zijz-VmUwqc/w-d-xo.html this girl shared one of her cutest Venice trip on her channel , guess she deserves a recognition 😊💕
Thoughts and prayers for those in Venice right now. Been there when there's been flooding (and when not) and it's tough for visitors and residents. Wonderful city that hopefully will get act together to better manage the overwhelming crowds and water level controls.
I recommend you two to everyone I can. You make me excited to travel. I cannot say enough positive things about your channel. So so well done. Down to earth awesome people. Talented shots and content. I’m so proud of you both!!! Wish you nothing but success!!!!!!
We were married in Venice on Christmas night. Christmas Day was magic in Venice and there were hardly any tourists and almost everything was open (Boxing Day was awful!) Night time there was also incredible, all tourists leave and you have the run of the city!
And now it’s underwater ...crazy Also when I went it literally rained for 9 hours straight ...worst day on tour ever I need to go again to make those memories go away lol
Flooding is a huge issue now and it's not going to get any better. Venice was always a bad choice for a city in terms of placement and has been sinking very slowly over time but it's obviously occurring more commonly. St Mark's Basilica has flooded six times in 1,200 years, four of those times were in the last 20 years. Even here in England we're getting harshly tested by flooding from a months rain in a day. This isn't even close to how extreme the weather can be when we hit that +2c either. I worry about all countries ability to handle weather they're not used to. (In our defence we are used to rain here lol, it's the capable river systems that failed to handle the rain and we are struggling to handle the aftermath)
I live 20 minutes from Venice and I tell you that the best months to visit are April, May, June and from mid-September to early October, because there are fewer tourists and the weather is perfect. In summer it is not good to visit it because there are so many tourists that you see nothing and what's more it is too hot and the humidity is too high. In autumn or winter it is not good to visit it because it rains so there is high water, or there is fog or there is such a strong wind that it freezes you.
I first went to Venice as an 11 year old in 1973 and we did the trip to Murano too (and my mother also bought earrings as a memento) so funny to see that day repeated almost a half century later
I'm biased because I love Venice, but this may be your best vlog to date along with Paris. I know the gondolas are touristy, but I feel all couples should try it at least once. It's a great perspective of Venice from the gondola.
My family and I are currently in Venice, its wonderful and the aqua alta or high water comes and goes with the high and low tide. As long as you know about it and are prepaired with rain jackets and rain boots then its so much fun!
when I was in Venice I made sure I woke up early to see the tourist sights before the crowds I went to the Doge’s palace at opening time and also at that time there was literally no one on the bridge with the view of the bridge of sighs so the perfect photo op!

When I was in Venice in October 2018 I stopped by a little pasticceria and bought myself a 'sfogliatella' - the best thing I have ever eaten. I believe sfogliatella originates in the south, but even in Venice it was insanely delicious. Would definitely suggest anyone try sfogliatella in Italy
What a special video and day! I watch (and love) all of your vlogs but every so often there's one that especially touches me...like this one! See you on the road :)
I am a little bit surprised about how you guys and also people in the comment section are so lighthearted when talking about the flood in Venice which was a natural disaster who distroyed the home of many people leaving them on the street and even killed someone. The worst is that the situation is still not under control and could get worst with new forecast of heavy rains. I think there is a real opportunity to use this video to raise some money to donate to those in Venice who dont have anything left anymore, maybe by donating all the ads revenue or any sponsorship money to the charities who are helping and supporting Venetians, and raise awarness of them in the comment section. I know this might be beyond the scope of the video but why not?
I think you have to weigh the pros and cons of the tourists in Venice. You really missed something by not seeing the Doge's Palace or the church of San Marco. You also missed all the art museums (Academia and Peggy Guggenheim). Walking around is the best thing to do in Venice but don't miss out on the live music too (the opera at La Fenice is awesome).
Those earrings can probably be easily fixed. It looks like the glass wasn't glued well enough to the post. Craft stores have jewelry glue, and they look like they can be re-glued.
If they had still been on Murano when it happened, she could have taken it back and they would have either re-glued it for her, or exchanged them for a new pair with better glue. But she knows what to look out for now!
Venezia! La bella città dei gondole! Thank you for this. Now we can see the flooding the city is suffering had previous signs. Acqua alta is a common phenomenon, sometimes is extreme as 1966. Now wind has been the biggest issue in the current crisis, hope the city can recover part of the natural barriers to contain future disasters (some of the "isole" used to be like mini Everglades) and they can have better emergency protocols in order to protect the city and population. Respecting the pronunciation: pronounce "chiquetti" and "baccalà manteccato". In the other hand: what a lovely cat!
Great video as always guys. When you went to Murano you should have gone a bit further over to Burano, it’s a beautiful island fully of multi coloured houses. And away from the main areas it is very quiet.
The baccalà in Veneto is not made with cod but with stock fish, totally different and also the real Venetian Spritz is with Select(or Cynar), Aperol was born in Padua
I do love Murano - there's quite a lot to see on that island other than the glass; I have a favourite place that I like to visit to watch the fishing boats coming in and out. I completely agree about getting off the tourist trail - I love just wandering about and getting lost and finding new squares and things to see. Glad the weather stayed dry for you.
We went there for my 50th birthday in March 2018. It was snowing which was just amazing. I hope you got a chance to go to Burano. That island is beautiful and such a change from Venice.
Love your work guys. Venice is the only Italian city we've been to 3 times. It's crowded and touristy but it is beautifully unique. Winter is best - especially when it snows. Italian coffee has always been the best but those 3rd wave trendy Melbourne style coffee shops have taken it to a new level. I think we'll be back. Maybe one day we'll even get to Murano 🤣
Great video. Spent 5 days in Venice a few years ago. Murano is lovely but we preferred Burano. Stayed on Lido and enjoyed walking the beach. Glad you missed the aqua alta.
I went in early May and stayed a few nights in Venice. The key is to wake up early around 7am go out and explore. You can take pictures without hundreds of other tourist in the way. It was very nice getting to walk around and enjoy the peacefulness before all of the other tourist boated onto the island. In the evening time around 5pm was another good time to go out it wasn't as busy bc most of the tourist leave the island by then.
Not a bee sting, you would have felt it. It really hurts when the bee stings you. Guess you still have that first one to look forward to. (It's probably a spider bite.)
@@vijay20 I agree with you. Honey bee stings don't really hurt and they look *exactly* like Eric's little wound-- right down to the tiny spot in the middle of the tiny swollen spot. You should’ve gone to Burano, it’s really pretty & have lots of shops selling lace & some great places to eat! On a side note, we stayed on Lido island which is a ten minute boat ride from Piazza San Marco but a nice quiet haven after the crowds of Venice plus the view of Venice across the Lagoon at sunset was magical! you two are the cutest! I've been binging your videos for hours haha. Thanks for making these, super informative :)

We started asking for Aperol Spritz's with prosecco while we were out there...much better that way.
Another amazing vlog. Great way to chill out on a Sunday night 👍💕😁
Love this video, I’m going to Venice tomorrow to vlog it too! What lens do you use to talk to camera? Love it
The best pizza I’ve ever had was in Venice! 😃
I have several glass pieces from Murano! A must visit in Italy!❤

not true. i have been stung by bees and only noticed when i had an allergic reaction.

There is two little islands name, Burano and Murano, the water taxi take you there, they are so cute and picturesque .

Cheek-etti :) Glad you guys were not trapped by the acqua alta!
Our favourite thing to do in Venice is ride the vaporetto. Lol at fishy cod, we had a very gross fish plate there.
" the after taste is even worse than the regular taste "!! Lol love it !
