Knowing some Italian words and phrases would be ideal. But did you use mostly English when ordering food at restaurants?
Yes (well, we'd have a go at the basics but could get by with English fine). And for cicchetti we just pointed out what we fancied as it was out on display@@jonnyboi068
@@OurTravelPlace thanks trying to get some basics down for my trip. Thanks for your reply.
No problem. If it helps, we aren't Italian speakers at all so our well-meaning attempts will have been terrible, and we got by easily@@jonnyboi068
@@OurTravelPlace 👍
Take a bow, folks, this is such a comprehensive and fun look at Venice!
Thank you so much 🙂
This is THE MOST HELPFUL video on Venice outside of the ones in Italian….thank you!!
Thanks very much, I'm happy to hear it was helpful! Thank you for watching 🙂
Agreed! This video was the most helpful on Venice I’ve seen. ❤
My wife and I our heading next Wednesday for 3 1/2 days. Great guide, thanks so much.
Glad it was helpful! Hope you have fun
The best video about Venice I have seen so far, and I think I have watched them all. Bravo.
Thanks very much! 😃
What a dear this young traveller is in her presentation. Lovely voice, great video. Thank you!
Thank you, I'm glad you liked it!
Brilliant!!! I have to say this was one of the best travel videos I have seen! I'll definitely look out for your other ones! Well done.
Thanks very much! 😄
Went 3 times for 7 days always found new areas love it
We could have happily stayed 7 days! 🙂 It's such a wonderful maze of a place to explore
What a professional video! Besides, I love your voice, I can listen it all day. Thank you very much for making all these informative and joyful videos.
Thank you so much, what a lovely comment! I'm glad you enjoyed it 😊
What a brilliantly informative video! Thank you so much - you have answered so many questions we had for our upcoming visit in two weeks time! Also, such a relaxed, easy to understand commentary - bravo!
I'm happy to hear that, glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching, and have a lovely time in Venice!
Thank you so much for this video. On my recent trip to Venice we followed everything you said, and I found it really helpful. We booked a table at the restaurant on Mazzorbo and really enjoyed our meal there thanks to your suggestion.
Oo I'm happy to hear the restaurant was good! And that you found the rest of the video helpful :) Thanks for letting us know. And for watching in the first place of course!
This is the best video I've seen on Venice. The interactive and color-coded map is also fabulous. Well done.😀
Thank you so much, I'm glad you found it helpful! Good to hear about the map too, it let's me know it's worth the extra effort if people like it!
Found another good channel a very informative as well. Kudos to all talented Brit reporter.
Thanks very much! 😃
We are planning our 5th trip to Venice. Having looked at many videos on YT to catch up on changes, I can say this is the absolute best. It's wonderfully shot and narrated with a great deal of pertinent information. Your bookmarking of chapters and map of sites are brilliant additions. Well done and mille grazie!
Thank you for the kind words, much appreciated! I hope you enjoy the trip (I imagine you will if you're going back for a fifth time 😀)
Great content with good information. Thank you for sharing 🎉
This video is so amazingly helpful. We were in Venice in 2017, but only for three days. I wish I had seen this video before hand, and we would’ve then followed some of your advice. Thank you so much for making the effort you deserve a gold medal!
Aw I love this comment, thank you! 😄
Thanks! My faith in TH-cam guides is mostly lost cause it’s always computer voices, long generic texts on a list of attractions taken from tripadvisor etc etc
Really enjoyed watching this one, snatched a few restaurant suggestions (the most precious types of advice, I’d say)
Glad you enjoyed the video! Food recommendations are definitely important 👍 I have had someone ask if I am using a computer voice before (I'm not!) 😂 Thanks for watching, hope you have a great trip!
Massive thanks for putting such a well informed video together!
Very well narrated and explained throughout!
This is certainly my go to video to guide and we very much look forward to our trip 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you, I appreciate that! Hope you have a great trip 😀
I visited Venice several times and this video is very well done and informative - thank you 🤗☺

You're welcome, thank you for watching! 🙂
Fantastic video! Very informative and relevant for the normal traveller. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching 🙂
Fabulous video! We were in Venice in May also, and watching your vlog made me reminisce and also show I missed so many things that I had wanted to see/do. You must have been there early in the month, it was so busy when we were there towards the end of the month. You are so right about doubling the time a map says it will take to get somewhere. We loved the Secret Itineraries tour too! If you ever go back, there is an After Hours Tour of St. Mark's Basilica that we did that allows (and even encourages) photos, and it was fabulous.
Thanks for the tip on the after hours tour - didn't know that! We did find that Venice was rammed around the main attractions but we could still find quieter spots by exploring away from those areas, plus we found it wasn't as bad earlier/later in the day when day trippers left. And the key to dodging crowds on Burano was the early start! (It wasn't even that early really). How long were you there for? Even though 3-4 days was a good amount we could have happily filled a couple more
Top notch video of a very well prepared and beautiful trip ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you!
Fantastic video. It will be my guide in my next trip. Congratulations
Thank you, glad you liked it! 🙂 Have a nice trip
Super helpful video, thank you!!
Thanks, glad you liked it! 😀

Excellent video, concise, clear, and to the point

"Dreamers of the Shore" - I love that tune. You did a fantastic job on this video, I love your voice! My husband and I will be going to Venice in a couple of months and will follow some of your steps. Cheers!

Very good video, and beautiful voice!
Thank you very much!
Murano and burano a must to visit! Beautiful, those colored stores. Beautiful shops
Agree, such a great day trip! Sounds like you had a fantastic time on your trip to Venice 😀
Very beautiful historic city ❤️.
Very helpful and well put together video. I enjoyed your tips especially about what most don't cover- food, vaperetto, bus from airport, and some of those tucked away places. Even bug spray advice! Thank you!!
I took a bunch of notes. :-)
Thank you, it's good to hear what you found helpful! Hope you have a great time in Venice 😀
Thank you so much. I've booked some tickets based on your advice!
Super, what have you booked? 🙂
Treviso is a great spot near Venice with airport as well. You can find a great apartment like "palazzina trevigiana" or "chiarano home" near the train station (10 min by walk) and then go by to Venice easily because are only 35 minute of train. Treviso is a super cool city as well, and cheaper!! so I think is the best way to visit 2 great city in one trip 🎉
Super, thanks for sharing this tip! 🙂
I will never get to go there so I thoroughly enjoyed your tour. Thank you.
Thank you for watching, I'm glad you enjoyed it 😊
Lovely shar, i visited Venice some time ago and really loveld it,unfortunately I did not go to the water as it was January or February so it was just too cold.
Still, I have enjoyed your video and watching Venice through your lenses.I hope to see more from you in the future.
Hope you had a good trip even though it was chilly! Thanks for watching, we're happy to hear you enjoyed the video! 🙂
Also, if you're into art go for Venice's gardini for this years Biennale in architecture and the exhibitions in Venice's Arsenal and villa's the were rented for exhibitions all around the city + can visit some contemporary and modern art at Guggenheim museum
Thanks for the extra suggestions! We were thinking of visiting the Guggenheim but in the end were enjoying just walking around outside too much! 🙂
Thank you
This video ways truly amazing! I'm traveling to Italy in a week and this was perfect. My only two questions are, do most places accept card and the overall safety of exploring Venice.
I'm glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching! Venice is safe, day and night. Just watch out for pickpockets in crowded areas, but that goes for all busy touristy cities.
We found most places accepted card but it was good to have a bit of cash on us just in case. Hope you have a great trip to Italy! 🙂🇮🇹
Very good video
Thank you!
Venice is a beautiful city ❤
It is 🙂
Beautiful 👌🙂
Thanks for watching!
Spectacular overview! The book, however, is the deep dive. "Temporal Echoes: Amelia's Odyssey Through Ancestral Shadows" by Vivian Rosewood
Thank you! Great and helpful video! I have a question, if you need to be at the airport very early in the morning, about 6 AM, is the vaporetto available at this time?
It looks as though the first Aliliguna vaporetto (blue line) arrives at the airport at 5am. Alternatively airport bus (ATVO) from Piazzale Roma starts at 4.20am. I forget if I mentioned in the video but there was no public transport when we needed to go to the airport so we caught a regular taxi (rather than water taxi) from Piazzale Roma. It was 50 euros so more expensive that public transport but a lot less than water taxi! (although water taxi would probably have been fun)
Awesome video! Very informative! Can I ask whether you have to scan the 2-day vaperetto pass every time you take the vaperetto? Or do you just scan it the first time?
Thank you, I'm glad it was helpful! Scan the pass every time you board
The pass works on a 48-hour basis from the time stamp. So you may use it for parts of 3 days which is great.
Thanks for adding that extra handy tip! 🙂
I stayed 3 weeks!
Bliss 😍
I have been to venezia 13 times. My home is furnished with velvet tapistries, murano chandeliers and hand painted silk lampshades
Sounds amazing!
❤
Amazing video, is there a hotel you recommend thats family friendly?
Thank you so much! Ahhh I'm sorry, I don't have any recommendations for that (not because there aren't any, just because it's not something I looked into!).
Superb video under the sun however it misses the historic and mythical palaces like the Danieli hotel 🙂
Just looked at photos inside the Danieli hotel...wow!!
I also made a short video where we see the interior, magnificent, historic and legendary hotel :-)
Great video, we are hoping to visit later in the year. Does the 1 or 2 day Vaporetto ticket include the trip to Burano? Also did you use it a lot for the rest of the time?
It did include Burano. We didnt use the pass much to be honest because we love walking (although sitting on the outdoor vaporetto seats was nice!). If I remember right we still saved a bit of money buying the pass but not a a great deal.
@@OurTravelPlace Thank you. Just subscribed… we’ve recently got back from Seville and your video was a great source of info for that trip. We’ll be watching this Venice one again and look forward to seeing your next adventure x
Oh wow that's great, happy to hear it was helpful! Hope you enjoy our future videos too 🙂 Have a fun time in Venice!
Impressed by the tidbits? The book is the treasure. "Temporal Echoes: Amelia's Odyssey Through Ancestral Shadows" by Vivian Rosewood
will going to be in Venice April 18-22 the daily vaporetto card can i use on any vaporetto and maybe another transport or only in vaporetto thanks we will arrive by train from Verona we stay 2 minutes from St Mark square getting the vaporetto at Santa Lucia can i get off in San Marcos
are they charge for luggage 1 large per person Thanks so much GREAT VIDEO very understandable
I think the pass also covers actv buses although we didnt use it for this. And for luggage, again can't speak from experience but i think it depends on size whether or not you are charged. This says Length+Height+Width up to 150cm in free: actv.avmspa.it/en/content/baggage-0
Hope you have a fun trip! 😄
Hi-great video- I am going March next year- what time of year did you go?
We went in May. Have a great trip when March rolls around! 😀

Nice video.
Can we meet "Attenciano Pickpokete" lady here ?
I'm not sure! Glad you liked the video though 🙂
Important to know, the bathroom fee was in euros! No cc, no other currency..ran to a nearby restaurant. They were very nice and friendly.
What does the air smell like? I was told the sewage goes into water and makes it stink. I hope not, it is beautiful.
We didn't notice any smell, it was fine 🙂
It is an education video
Is there public bathroom ?
Yes, although they aren't free. Take advantage of the bathrooms when you visits cafes, museums etc!
And dont go home before taking the famous gandola ride!!! Highlight of the trip
ding
Yea u would never go there I like to walk around not sit in no boat
€80 for a gondola ride? Wow
I know, ouch!
The background music is annoying and unnecessary.
Do you mean the background music used in this particular video, or do you find background music on YT videos annoying in general?
@@OurTravelPlace Background music, I stopped watching after a few minutes because of it
Those canals must be stinking by now. Awful place to go to. The best thing to do there is leaving.
