What a professional video! Besides, I love your voice, I can listen it all day. Thank you very much for making all these informative and joyful videos.
We are planning our 5th trip to Venice. Having looked at many videos on YT to catch up on changes, I can say this is the absolute best. It's wonderfully shot and narrated with a great deal of pertinent information. Your bookmarking of chapters and map of sites are brilliant additions. Well done and mille grazie!
Thanks! My faith in TH-cam guides is mostly lost cause it’s always computer voices, long generic texts on a list of attractions taken from tripadvisor etc etc Really enjoyed watching this one, snatched a few restaurant suggestions (the most precious types of advice, I’d say)
Glad you enjoyed the video! Food recommendations are definitely important 👍 I have had someone ask if I am using a computer voice before (I'm not!) 😂 Thanks for watching, hope you have a great trip!
Great video, we used it to plan our Honeymoon in Venice last week! We ended up doing the DIY Island tour, The secret inanities tour and all the towers off your advice, plus we ate a LOT of Cicchetti! So thankyou for this video. We managed to mostly avoid the tourist trap restaurant but we did get caught out by one unfortunately. We found that the Genuine restaurants tended to have all Italian staff and be further from the water which might help people in the future. We also mangaged to get coffee opposite the Gondola repair shop thanks to your video and it was fantastic.
What a truly excellent video!!! Thanks! I'm a Brit who has lived and worked in Florence for the last 35 years, and my wife and I used to go to Venice twice a year for a few days (it's much too crowded now). Still, we must go back next year: it's been too long. For us, the Venitian Renaissance paintings are important, particularly those that are still in situ (the Frari, the Scuola San Rocco, the Bellini in the church of San Zaccaria …). My one negative comment on your video is that the gelato you see piled up in the glass counters is full of chemicals: real gelato cannot stand up like that-look for gelato that's not piled up. The difference in taste is astonishing.
I hope you enjoy it despite the crowds! Thanks for watching. Next time we visit Italy we'll just have to try more gelato 🙂 (I think the one I showed in the video was from Suso)
Thank you so much for this video. On my recent trip to Venice we followed everything you said, and I found it really helpful. We booked a table at the restaurant on Mazzorbo and really enjoyed our meal there thanks to your suggestion.
Oo I'm happy to hear the restaurant was good! And that you found the rest of the video helpful :) Thanks for letting us know. And for watching in the first place of course!
This is excellent. I am off for my 4th trip in 2 years to Venice. I stayed in Murano the first time but staying in Burano for my third time and staying for 3 weeks I love it so much! I also do plein air painting while there...
ÑThank you so much, really helped us get the most from our 5 day visit to Venice. I can see why you ran out of steam visiting four islands in one day, three was our limit. Burano was so beautiful with the coloured houses and unique to Venice. For anyone planning their trip , I would recommend visiting DFS department store next to the Rialto bridge. They have a free roof top viewing area (great views of the Grand Canal) but you need to pre-book 21 days ahead, tickets are limited and get snapped up quickly.
Glad it was helpful! Sounds like you had a great trip 🙂 Yes, 4 islands was pretty tiring. We mainly wanted to visit Burano so I'm glad we prioritised visiting there first. Thanks for sharing your viewpoint tip! We tried booking it but missed it - they do run out quickly!
I hope you are having a wonderful time in Venice - have a great last day there! Thanks for watching our video, I'm glad you found it helpful (if a little late!)
This video is so amazingly helpful. We were in Venice in 2017, but only for three days. I wish I had seen this video before hand, and we would’ve then followed some of your advice. Thank you so much for making the effort you deserve a gold medal!
Massive thanks for putting such a well informed video together! Very well narrated and explained throughout! This is certainly my go to video to guide and we very much look forward to our trip 👍🏻👍🏻
Grazie. This was the absolute best guide I have seen. I have taken notes as 3 friends and I will be in Venice for 4 days in October, I have been several times but for my friends this is their first experience in Venice. It is wonderful to see that you take us to a variety of regions of Venice and to the outer islands. I have seen most of these sights but there are definitely some I have not, so I will make sure those I have not seen are on our itinerary this trip. I will definitely use this as my guide to give my friends a great tour of Venice.
Fabulous video! We were in Venice in May also, and watching your vlog made me reminisce and also show I missed so many things that I had wanted to see/do. You must have been there early in the month, it was so busy when we were there towards the end of the month. You are so right about doubling the time a map says it will take to get somewhere. We loved the Secret Itineraries tour too! If you ever go back, there is an After Hours Tour of St. Mark's Basilica that we did that allows (and even encourages) photos, and it was fabulous.
Thanks for the tip on the after hours tour - didn't know that! We did find that Venice was rammed around the main attractions but we could still find quieter spots by exploring away from those areas, plus we found it wasn't as bad earlier/later in the day when day trippers left. And the key to dodging crowds on Burano was the early start! (It wasn't even that early really). How long were you there for? Even though 3-4 days was a good amount we could have happily filled a couple more
This was one of the most helpful travel vlogs i've watched. Thank you. I will be in Venice for a week in June and there are several new places I want to check out that you covered e.g. Burana. Again, thanks!!
Thank you, I'm glad you found it helpful! A week in Venice sounds lovely, you can really take your time. We loved Burano, especially in the morning while it was quiet - it's so beautiful 😀 Thanks for watching
"Dreamers of the Shore" - I love that tune. You did a fantastic job on this video, I love your voice! My husband and I will be going to Venice in a couple of months and will follow some of your steps. Cheers!

Fantastic video. I’m spending five days in August on my first solo trip but not my first visit to Venice. You’ve given me a few more ideas of things to do now. Thank you ! ☺️ also I didn’t know the vapporetto pass only started when you first scan it so that was super useful info. I wish they did a five pay pass though 🤷🏽♀️☺️
This video ways truly amazing! I'm traveling to Italy in a week and this was perfect. My only two questions are, do most places accept card and the overall safety of exploring Venice.
I'm glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching! Venice is safe, day and night. Just watch out for pickpockets in crowded areas, but that goes for all busy touristy cities. We found most places accepted card but it was good to have a bit of cash on us just in case. Hope you have a great trip to Italy! 🙂🇮🇹
Lovely shar, i visited Venice some time ago and really loveld it,unfortunately I did not go to the water as it was January or February so it was just too cold. Still, I have enjoyed your video and watching Venice through your lenses.I hope to see more from you in the future.
wow one of the best video and full of information. im glad to watch it before going to venice this August for 3 1/2 days. Excellent and well explained, thank you for sharing your travel experience
Treviso is a great spot near Venice with airport as well. You can find a great apartment like "palazzina trevigiana" or "chiarano home" near the train station (10 min by walk) and then go by to Venice easily because are only 35 minute of train. Very helpful and well put together video. I enjoyed your tips especially about what most don't cover- food, vaperetto, bus from airport, and some of those tucked away places. Even bug spray advice! Thank you!! I took a bunch of notes. :-)
Awesome video! Very informative! Can I ask whether you have to scan the 2-day vaperetto pass every time you take the vaperetto? Or do you just scan it the first time?
Great video, we are hoping to visit later in the year. Does the 1 or 2 day Vaporetto ticket include the trip to Burano? Also did you use it a lot for the rest of the time?
It did include Burano. We didnt use the pass much to be honest because we love walking (although sitting on the outdoor vaporetto seats was nice!). If I remember right we still saved a bit of money buying the pass but not a a great deal.
@@OurTravelPlace Thank you. Just subscribed… we’ve recently got back from Seville and your video was a great source of info for that trip. We’ll be watching this Venice one again and look forward to seeing your next adventure x
Thank you! Great and helpful video! I have a question, if you need to be at the airport very early in the morning, about 6 AM, is the vaporetto available at this time?
It looks as though the first Aliliguna vaporetto (blue line) arrives at the airport at 5am. Alternatively airport bus (ATVO) from Piazzale Roma starts at 4.20am. I forget if I mentioned in the video but there was no public transport when we needed to go to the airport so we caught a regular taxi (rather than water taxi) from Piazzale Roma. It was 50 euros so more expensive that public transport but a lot less than water taxi! (although water taxi would probably have been fun)
Thank you so much! Ahhh I'm sorry, I don't have any recommendations for that (not because there aren't any, just because it's not something I looked into!).
Nicely explained. We are a family of 2 seniors, 4 adults and 2 kids aged 4 and 10. We have 2 nights and 1 day to explore venice. Where should we stay for 2 nights and explore venice including Murano island in on day. Please advise. Dr Pramod Kumar Choudhury
Venice and Murano in one day sounds quite ambitious! As for where to stay, it depends on what you want to see in venice, and your budget, but for a short trip if it were me I would prioritise convenience. E.g. if you want to see the sights around St Mark's Square, if it were me I would be aiming for accommodation north east of San Marco, somewhere between the sights of this area while being on the same side of the island as the Murano vaporetto stop. Wherever you end up staying I hope you have a lovely trip!

Knowing some Italian words and phrases would be ideal. But did you use mostly English when ordering food at restaurants?
Yes (well, we'd have a go at the basics but could get by with English fine). And for cicchetti we just pointed out what we fancied as it was out on display@@jonnyboi068
@@OurTravelPlace thanks trying to get some basics down for my trip. Thanks for your reply.
No problem. If it helps, we aren't Italian speakers at all so our well-meaning attempts will have been terrible, and we got by easily@@jonnyboi068

@@OurTravelPlace Thank you. Just subscribed… we’ve recently got back from Seville and your video was a great source of info for that trip. We’ll be watching this Venice one again and look forward to seeing your next adventure x
Oh wow that's great, happy to hear it was helpful! Hope you enjoy our future videos too 🙂 Have a fun time in Venice!
Brilliant, thank you 😊
Glad you liked it, thanks for watching!
Amazing video, is there a hotel you recommend thats family friendly?
Thank you so much! Ahhh I'm sorry, I don't have any recommendations for that (not because there aren't any, just because it's not something I looked into!).
Superb video under the sun however it misses the historic and mythical palaces like the Danieli hotel 🙂
Just looked at photos inside the Danieli hotel...wow!!
I also made a short video where we see the interior, magnificent, historic and legendary hotel :-)
Hi-great video- I am going March next year- what time of year did you go?
We went in May. Have a great trip when March rolls around! 😀
Fall and spring are the best times.

Amazing💞 Thank you💞
Spectacular overview! The book, however, is the deep dive. "Temporal Echoes: Amelia's Odyssey Through Ancestral Shadows" by Vivian Rosewood
I stayed 3 weeks!

Beautiful 👌🙂
