    Thanks for this, Andy. It's very helpful to see. Does the dish end up mounted with any pitch at all to shed water? Is this needed?

    • @MobileMustHave
      @MobileMustHave  21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi David! So, the dish doesn't have a pitch to shed water, but it really isn't needed from what we're finding. Andy hasn't had any water collection issues while using his and we haven't heard any reports of this being an issue. If you have any other questions, reach out to us via email at info@mobilemusthave.com and we'll be happy to help!

    Whats the download speed of kick mount laid flat on truck, w/o the bonding bkups ?

    • @MobileMustHave
      @MobileMustHave  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We were not able to see a change in speed when flat or pointed and optimized but checkout our friends at the Mobile Internet Resource Center who have a great Starlink guide with a lot more deep dives. Membership to their site is included if you join our membership which also gets you discounts across our entire store that generally pay for the membership in 1-2 purchases. how did you test this things UV resistance and long term robustness. Are the indents for the kick stand designed to be strong enough to hold this on a roof on an RV on a gravel road?

    • @MobileMustHave
      @MobileMustHave  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hello! Those are very good questions. So, the Trio Flatmount is following the leading edge of development on Starlink and is a mount designed to function with a Starlink Gen 3 dish that was released only approximately 60 days ago. As such long-term testing can be tricky regarding UV resistance. What we can tell you is the product is made of high-strength ASA plastic which has highly UV-resistant properties and since the mount primarily lives in the shade under the dish we do not expect UV to be a factor. The manufacturer tests the stress tests of the plastics themselves with up to 120 pounds of downward and upward force to test for durability. The antenna itself weighs less than 5 pounds so we feel this test appropriately tests for conditions in excess of what the mount would encounter in normal daily use. While a “gravel road” could mean a lot of different things for an RV based on drive and road characteristics I don’t suspect this would be an issue however regularly inspecting the mount would be a good practice here.

    What did you use to mount your Starlink router and power brick to the wall?

    • @MobileMustHave
      @MobileMustHave  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This is Andy. I custom 3dprinted a mount. I am working on getting them added to the store. Email us and we can send you link once we get them up.
      I didn't think people would be interested, but we have had a few requests!

    Does the flat dish need direct sight to the sky? I have a rooftop tent but theres a gap it would fit between

    • @MobileMustHave
      @MobileMustHave  8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes, the Starlink dish does need to have a direct sight line to the sky. Starlink's signal is impacted by things like heavy tree coverage, so I feel like the rooftop tent would cause some issues with the interference as well. How do you protect (weatherproof) the ethernet cable end after removal of the dish?

    • @MobileMustHave
      @MobileMustHave  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      So, if you're looking to just waterproof the cable through the roof connection, our Cable Entry Solutions from Icotek will work for you: mobilemusthave.com/pages/cable-entry-systems
      If you are looking to waterproof the cable end after removing the dish, this would require a different cover of sorts. We don't currently offer a cable cap for this situation, but if you reach out to us via email at info@mobilemusthave.com, we can help guide you in the right direction! Thank you!

    Can you not somehow get rid of the Starlink Router on the Gen3 and connect it to the Peplink without the Starlink router?

    • @MobileMustHave
      @MobileMustHave  หลายเดือนก่อน

      So, there are ways to remove the Starlink router completely from previous versions, but we don't have any firsthand experience with converting the Gen 3 yet, so we're waiting on more information and testing before we recommend a sure route to get rid of the Starlink router. But, from what I'm finding, most people who converted their previous Starlink models are not converting the Gen 3 and just using it with the Starlink router since it has ethernet ports already built-in.

    When will they invent something for glass ceilings? Support like this already exists thousands on the market, the difficult thing is to find it for panoramic roofs.

    • @MobileMustHave
      @MobileMustHave  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hello! I definitely get what you mean, but the Trio Flatmount may have an option that works with your glass panoramic roof. The Trio Flatmount offers suction cups as a mounting option and you can also add on the Pivot Legs to help with the curvature on your panoramic roof. It will ultimately depend on the strength of your glass roof and the amount of curvature, but it does seem like this option may work for you!

    And now connect without the gen 3 starlink router???😊 if that would be possible, maybe near future.

    • @MobileMustHave
      @MobileMustHave  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Its doable now with a poe injector and a 12v to 56v dc converter. We continue to do testing but are seeing promising results.

    Did you notice a lot of wind noise when you have this mounted on the roof of your truck ??

    • @MobileMustHave
      @MobileMustHave  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello! So, we didn't notice any noise with the Trio Flatmount, but if this is something you're running into, it may be worth it to go with the SpeedMount version of the Trio mounts. The SpeedMount is specifically made for high-speed situations and has a lower footprint and possibly less drag. Here is a link to the SpeedMount on our site: mobilemusthave.com/products/trio-speedmount-for-starlink-gen-3?_pos=2&_psq=speedmount&_ss=e&_v=1.0

    What’s a peplink?

    • @MobileMustHave
      @MobileMustHave  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello! So, Peplinks are the routers we sell that help provide mobile internet connectivity, in conjunction with Starlink! The Peplink routers provide cellular connection through hotspot-only data plans installed in the router. You can then easily add-in Starlink to your setup by plugging it into the Peplink's WAN port and utlilize one wifi signal for both your cellular and Starlink! If you are interested in learning more about Peplink routers, send us an email at info@mobilemusthave.com and we'll be happy to help! Thank you!
