As well as additional weapons, armour and items, a DLC could expand the main story of Black Myth: Wukong. The game currently features six chapters for players to explore, but the original plan was 12 chapters. It’s not known if these were reworked to fit in the original storyline, or if Game Science has several unused plot points ready to roll out. Fans have been complaining that several key chapters from the Journey To The West story have been left out, so a potential expansion could feature those.
Ig its the destined one maybe because he wore the headband and hence he continues the cycle of being controlled by the celestial court and tried to remove the headband like wukong he sacrifice himself then a new destined one will come and became a new wukong and so on..
incase you're not sure what these mean, its actually pretty simple if you read all the portrait lores : - orginal wukong went to the west for freedom, but heaven is basically pissed he doesnt want to work for them but will always win as long as they can cheat through that headband - his friend erlang stored all his memories on a usb drive on his forehead cus orginal wukong could never win since the headband is literally also his mind - hinted by many dialogs, the destined one is one of many of wukongs failsafe strands, old monkey even hand makes wooden staffs for every single monkey but they all died, erlang is waiting for a new body thats powerful enough to defy heaven to give the usb drive of memories to so wukongs memory doesnt go to loser that'll just die off when heaven sends lackies like in chapter 6 - bad ending is new wukong putting on headband for extra relic power for tiny bit more damage, but it takes away his freedom from heaven control and not what orginal wukong wanted, we see new wukong essentiall trapped in stone with wukong at the end. - good ending is new wukong is how orginal wukong "ripped off" his headband like he promised erland in the cinematic; having all of orginal wukongs memories sucked off from erlang essentiall fused new and old wukong into one. cinematic shows new wukong remembering everything orginal wukong's life and rejected the headband and this is good because heaven can't beat wukong if he no weakness in a new body with no headband, allowing wukong to be finally free.
Last scene Wukong was with his kind same as him, left without anyone of them remaining where he stands alone, part of why he was also angry at the gods at the beginning scene
Okay, the first ending is a pretty bad one. Wukong is forever lost and we remain bound to the celestial realm via the circlet. The ending, if I’m not mistaken, have us regain what was thought to be lost Mind that Erlang was holding onto and awakening before the old monkey, who likely is working for the Celestial Court. And if I’m not mistaken, the ending cutscene is us regaining Wukong’s memories, which explains why the story was played in reverse. It’s told from Wukong death to his origins, ending at right before Wukong started his first war with the Celestial Court, which hints at the future DLC being use bringing the war to them.
Man I read all comments seems most of them didnt know the real history of Wukong ... As Wukong Long time Nerd, i will tell you the unpopular theory. The crystal rock that look like trapping Wukong on 7:50 is a WOMB containing Wukong, as we know Wukong born from Nuwa crystal or magic stone fragments, which made by Nuwa to protecting heaven on Heavenly Grand War... there is 36,501 Nuwa crystal's Fragments out there , that mean there will born 1 wukong from every each of them when the time is came... so that not looping... or Wukong clone, each Destined one is newborn wukong... Fyi: Nuwa is Goddess, the creator of humankind in chinese mythology, she is dead while patching the barrier to protect the "ungrateful" heaven... wukong is interpretation as Nuwa's son who will instictly take revenge on "ungrateful" heaven... these "wukong-mess-with-heaven" cycle will never stop until the Ungrateful heaven put wukong on the place that he should be as the fragment of heaven's protector.
You know, it just hit me, the higher-ups never wanted Monkey King to be free and wanted him to follow their rules to a T. Well, he did by following one rule that they didn't count on. Reincarnation. Once that happened and he got his memories back, the band was no more, and they don't call the shots anymore. Any thoughts?
The final ending still doesn’t make sense because in the cut scene it would have implied that the Buddha when making Sun Wukong The Victorious Fighting Buddha he took of the headband but it’s still on when he wants freedom🤨🤨
Let me put it simply, Wukong were freed from the headband but he must serve in heaven, he was happy to be relieved from the headband but eventually realize how living as a king is much more exciting and pleasing for him. But the problem, Wukong wanted no end to his power where in the end the cycle of life must continue and Wukong will eventully left behind only his legacy
I have a theory, since the celestial court would send those mongrel to guard Huaguo mountain, outside of the stone, of course they wouldn't missed out to place someone inside of the stone to keep track of the Wukong resurrection. So who are that old monkey tbh? Judging by how each of Wukong full armor set could took a living form, why wouldn't that headband which is given by Guanyin Bodhisattva took a living form too? Hence my theory is that old monkey is actually the living form of that headband which is given by Guanyin to serve as Lingshan spy to monitor the resurrection progress at the finish line of the journey and bind the new Wukong once again with that headband constraint once he is about to resurrect.
I have been playing the game since release and just finally completed it today. Looks like I got the so called "true ending" at least. Though for some reason I didn't get the trophy for unlocking all the transformations and I'm pretty sure I defeated every boss possible and explored every nook and cranny. I should also have the portraits too. Either way this game was a breath of fresh air and a masterpiece. I loved every second of it. Edit: Once I started new game plus during the first cinematic I did end up getting the remainder of the trophies I was supposed to get. So definitely start a new game plus.
Let me put it in simple words. In the first ending, the Destined One wears the headband and stays under celestial control because he didn't knew anything but in 2 ending he fights erlang and gets the memories of wukong and he open his eyes and see everything all wukong memories and finally he gets free.

I like this game really, i like it so much, just because of WUKONG🎉🎉🎉, okay, lets discuss this, from open minded to open minded. To me, the first ending, hinted that, everything, is just a looping, like right from the very beginning, its just a loop, if you guys read the novel you know that wukong born from the rock/stone. Wu Kong himself tried to bent FATE/DESTINY, but he TRAPPING himself in a loop, not in a cycle of reincarntaion, but a limbo, where universe born, then he is born, then when he died, and the universe end, every thing jusy repeat itself, over and over and over and over again. Make sense? No? Okay. Then the 2nd ending, ALSO indicate of repetitive, because the memory flows backward, and the cutscene ended when Wu Kong was about to start the 1st war with the HEAVEN, doesn't that mean that its repeated? To you guys? No? seems to me its repeating, because from that point he must, walk the same path he walk, even though he doesn't want it, because all for the sake of his own clan, its like i can hera him saying that "ill do it again over and over again, if it means my clan can be saved" is that it? I don't know, let me know whay you guys thought will ya😅😅😅😅
second ending he rejects the headband which cages him. The rest is just animation of everything that happened on the Journey to the west to the beginning of his tale (when he and his demon brothers decides to fight the heavens).
@@MrKong1089 The way I understood the end cutscene is he toasts all his fallen brothers (represented by all the weapons) at the end and heads off to challenge the celestial court again
Spoilers ahead?? Okay so basically to summarise it. First ending is when you don’t take time to explore and find out all the missing lore and items of Wukong(Each time you defeat a Yaoguai King, you find out bits and pieces of the full story of Wukong and them. That’s why they seem to address you as Wukong because they have or well had a connection with him.) and the destined one doesn’t learn about why wukong did what he did and just accepts the headband, continuing the cycle wukong wanted to break out of. Second ending is considered the true/good ending where the destined one gathers all the missing items and learns everything from the yaoguai kings then confronts Erlang Shen who took major part in this plan to free Wukong from the headband that tied him to the celestial court. Thus becoming Wukong and achieving his original goal.
Help! I’m almost at the end of the boss fights of chapter 6, how do i get all “3 endings” in 1 play through? Do i need to do like this in order? -Fight the stone monkey -Fight Erlang (secret boss) -and fight the stone monkey again. Help please. Thanks
no just fight erlang first and then fight the stone monkey that'll turn to husk wuong, i think if u dont fight erlang first you can only fix it by playing again in NG+
the ending that rejects the headband is related to "Journey to The West" you guys can take a look at it if ur interested as a chinese I'm proud of how this game which represents my culture nice stroyline overall and I'm kinda impressed
So I will try to explain this 1- The Ending you are talking about is the first ending(The Bad Ending) where the destined one wears the head band and can be controlled by the celestial court and so is made a stone again. Remember we saw a stone at the start just before we started the adventure? Its that. This means that the cycle repeated and we couldn't become Wukong 2- The true ending is when we do all the side missions and defeat Erlang and in turn Erlang gives us wukong's memories. So after defeating Wukong's relics when the old monkey finally came to give us the head band we arise as the Wukong and reject the head band and the cycle stops
That headband is like kryptonite for superman, That headband is to control sun wukong in journeys to the west when he act mischievous, idk why he still have that headband mybe just for this game so he can lose to erlangs. In original story after journeys to the west, he became a Buddha. The fighting Buddha nobody can defeat him tbh.
its your, or the monkey u played, now he become a new shell, continue the cycle till the right " wukong shell" come, basiclly u become the monkey u fought before the game end
ppl who ties true ending animation to a “dlc” is dumb dumb cuz clearly the ones who says that never know anything about journey to the west :/ wu kong will not go through anything to live his past life a second time
Before finishing the game I need to do the pagoda boss by doing that il get the trophy meet the match, then continue ch6 to finish then fight wukong and il get the trophy a duel of destiny trophy right, if not then someone recommend what to do first.
I have a question: If I complete the first ending, I can continue the game and go fight the secret boss and come back and fight the stone monkey again and see the second ending without starting the story over again.
How do you still play in English in all endings. Just play in Chinese bruh. Don't pretend like you understand the story and won't search for explanations later anyway
I'm not exactly sure, but it looks like 白骨精(White Bone Demon), its one of the demon WuKong encountered in his JTTW. There is a movie adaptation made by Steven Chow called A Chinese Odyssey, which depict White Bone Demon as WuKong's love interest and the Spider Demon as Zhu BaJie's love interest. BaJie also got the Spider Demon pregnant in the movie. If im not mistaken, this wasn't in the original JTTW story, and its likely the game took inspiration from the movie and made this sequel of JTTW game with the movie's character love interest as part of the story.
in an oversimplified version of the Journey to the west story, that woman was just a ghost demon tryna eat up Tang Sanzong so that she can achieve immortality. Sun Wukong killed her like three times. He and his master (Tang Sanzong) fought about it. It was a whole ass ordeal man🤣🤣
In the original story, Wukong was still quite rebellious when he first became Monk Xuanzang’s disciple. Guanyin Buddha secretly gifted Xuanzang a headband that tightens with the associated spell. Xuanzang then tricked Wukong to wear it, and used the spell every time Wukong revolts. The headband then became part of Wukong as he was never able to remove it. (The game had it when the headband finally comes off as the original Wukong officially dies.) Some interpret the headband as an epitome of discipline, rules, and humanity-after all, Wukong is a monkey, but many believe it is a shackle against freedom. Given that the developers of this game embraced tons of hardships to break free from technical, cultural, financial, and bureaucratic challenges, it is without a doubt that the true finale of Wukong’s story is a superhero who wears no chains.
First one is the accurate ending - the boss they fight at end of video is the same boss you fight at beginning. So you can’t defeat the first boss of game in order to see him at the end.

@@TheFirstCurse1 Yes, but I don't think there's anything special announced for this year, is there? So starwars has come and the new Ac is still to come, but from what we've seen so far I don't think either of them will be GOTY. So my personal GOTY is Wukong so far
How do u get him to reject it?
As well as additional weapons, armour and items, a DLC could expand the main story of Black Myth: Wukong. The game currently features six chapters for players to explore, but the original plan was 12 chapters. It’s not known if these were reworked to fit in the original storyline, or if Game Science has several unused plot points ready to roll out.
Fans have been complaining that several key chapters from the Journey To The West story have been left out, so a potential expansion could feature those.
DLC = We traveling to the celestial court and fight to jade emperor
Since we stopped at chapter 6 if they could drop DLC for a chapter or two then this could be the greatest game ever made for Chinese Mythology.
7:38 here's our real sun wukong from starting
Ig its the destined one maybe because he wore the headband and hence he continues the cycle of being controlled by the celestial court and tried to remove the headband like wukong he sacrifice himself then a new destined one will come and became a new wukong and so on..
incase you're not sure what these mean, its actually pretty simple if you read all the portrait lores :
- orginal wukong went to the west for freedom, but heaven is basically pissed he doesnt want to work for them but will always win as long as they can cheat through that headband
- his friend erlang stored all his memories on a usb drive on his forehead cus orginal wukong could never win since the headband is literally also his mind
- hinted by many dialogs, the destined one is one of many of wukongs failsafe strands, old monkey even hand makes wooden staffs for every single monkey but they all died, erlang is waiting for a new body thats powerful enough to defy heaven to give the usb drive of memories to so wukongs memory doesnt go to loser that'll just die off when heaven sends lackies like in chapter 6
- bad ending is new wukong putting on headband for extra relic power for tiny bit more damage, but it takes away his freedom from heaven control and not what orginal wukong wanted, we see new wukong essentiall trapped in stone with wukong at the end.
I have no idea what is going on at times in this game. But god damn I know a good game when I see one and this is it.
Same. I don't cite it as a negative, but I had a hard time following the plot most of the game.
Fyi:
Nuwa is Goddess, the creator of humankind in chinese mythology, she is dead while patching the barrier to protect the "ungrateful" heaven... wukong is interpretation as Nuwa's son who will instictly take revenge on "ungrateful" heaven... these "wukong-mess-with-heaven" cycle will never stop until the Ungrateful heaven put wukong on the place that he should be as the fragment of heaven's protector.
That video at the last ending only plays when destined one reject the headband? Cuz i got it but i honestly cant remember if he wore it or not
yes
I gotten the bad ending because i havent done erlang boss fight. I know i can do it and get the true ending in the same playthrough but does that mean i have to fight wukong again or does the game skip it because ive already done it before?
you have to fight wukong again.

Yes, in fact, one of the in-game characters have hinted that this is not the first or second reincarnation of Wukong. I forgot who though.
@@chinachampionMany implied that they've faced many reincarnations of Wukong before, but all of them either failed to retrieve all 6 relics and died or accepted the headband again, fulfilling the cycle of a Wukong being under control of the Court. Until us, the Destined One, did something different (defeating all the secret bosses) and granted all previous memory of the original Wukong by Erlang, saw through all the Court's bs and rejected the headband. The third ending is connected with the second in this video
The Erlang fight in the great pagoda isn’t really an ending. Just a secret boss fight with some lore tied to it
Thank to @tlwa😊
The headband was created by Guanyin to control Sun Wukong. It tightens inducing a headache so painful that Sun Wukong cannot bear and the only way to take it off is to die. The games opening scene show Wukong suffering the pain while he turn into a bird and gets defeated by Erlang.
After absorbing all of Wukong's relics the destine one became the "new" Wukong.
Accepting the headband = Accepting buddhahood and continue serving the heavenly court in Wukong's name while being "caged" by the headband Not accepting the headband = Breaking free from the heavenly court and living a life free from any rules which is what the original Wukong always wanted.
The ending animation starting from 42:10 is actually telling the story of The Journey to the West from the original Wukong's perspective in reverse.
46:07 Become the monkey King
45:57 Deciding the wreak havoc in heaven and hell
45:47 - Erasing his name and all his monkey buddies name from the Book of Death (So all of them becomes immortal)
45:30 Causing destruction in heaven
45:15 Capture by Buddha's palm and as punishment trapped him under a mountain for 500 years
44:40 Tang Sanzang the monk frees Wukong from the mountain
44:36 To redeem himself for all the havoc he causes 500 years ago, Wukong was tasked by Guanyin to protect the monk journeying to the west to retreive buddist scripture. He also received the headband by Guanyin at this point.
44:31 Met his other 2 traveling buddy, the pig and sand monk. Together with Wukong and the monk the 4 of them travels together to the west
43:17 44:27 - Various ordeals and adventures along the way to the west
42:36 Successfully helping the monk retreiving the buddist scripture and becoming a buddha himself (Actual Journey to the West story ending) 42:10 Wants to give up buddhahood and breaks free from the heavenly court (Same as the games opening)

It sucks that I learned you can fight erlang after I beat the game :/ still beat him but seeing the cutscene would have been cool
Nope im still confused
second ending he rejects the headband which cages him.
@@carlg7418 Yes it's basically the Destined One becoming wukong and setting out to challenge the court
@@silentlore2458😅 erlang will definitely piss him off
Spoilers ahead??
-Fight the stone monkey
-Fight Erlang (secret boss)
-and fight the stone monkey again.
Help please. Thanks
no just fight erlang first and then fight the stone monkey that'll turn to husk wuong, i think if u dont fight erlang first you can only fix it by playing again in NG+
I hope they make a prequel to the story so i can understand more lol
Is it just me, or did he lose so much to gain so little?
I'm not a smart to find this, but I need my game homies and the loving nerds to help me find a cheat lol.
I got two of the endings in one play through lol
What was that baby doing in that bird cage?😱😭
It's describes about china in the past (bad ending) and now (true ending)
Do we get anything for getting the bad ending? Or is it just like “ya done fucked up try again”
the ending that rejects the headband is related to "Journey to The West" you guys can take a look at it if ur interested as a chinese I'm proud of how this game which represents my culture nice stroyline overall and I'm kinda impressed
I have a question, at the end of the first ending (bad one) we see wukong in a rock. What is that? Why is he trapped? And how?
So I will try to explain this
1- The Ending you are talking about is the first ending(The Bad Ending) where the destined one wears the head band and can be controlled by the celestial court and so is made a stone again. Remember we saw a stone at the start just before we started the adventure? Its that. This means that the cycle repeated and we couldn't become Wukong
2- The true ending is when we do all the side missions and defeat Erlang and in turn Erlang gives us wukong's memories. So after defeating Wukong's relics when the old monkey finally came to give us the head band we arise as the Wukong and reject the head band and the cycle stops
Am confused my ending was the crowing dropping in the water and ending with an animation
plz someone explain me,what happened with sun wukong.and what is the head band.when sun wukong was in bird?
That headband is like kryptonite for superman,
That headband is to control sun wukong in journeys to the west when he act mischievous, idk why he still have that headband mybe just for this game so he can lose to erlangs.
In original story after journeys to the west, he became a Buddha. The fighting Buddha nobody can defeat him tbh.
Theres 2, 2 endings.
So in the true ending is the "true" Of black myth wukong or what i say is the secret story of wukong? Interesting😮
I got the last one. With the stone monkey. Is that the right one? I thought I was gonna fight wukong with the armour and stuff.
Why there is no bgm for the animation???
So there’s 2 endings
the last one is the true ending
Is that true? I got ending 3 after ending 1 right away, I thought it was one ending
anyone knows how to get the true ending where the Destined One rejects the headband?
How do you get the one where he rejects the headband

Sun Wukong was born of a rock
its your, or the monkey u played, now he become a new shell, continue the cycle till the right " wukong shell" come, basiclly u become the monkey u fought before the game end

How do you still play in English in all endings. Just play in Chinese bruh. Don't pretend like you understand the story and won't search for explanations later anyway
at 44:17 who is the girl behind sun wukong and what is she for/ what does she mean
Stephen Chow's JTTW2 feels like a parody to me, too much comedy.😂 But Wukong fight scene really look so good in that one.
in an oversimplified version of the Journey to the west story, that woman was just a ghost demon tryna eat up Tang Sanzong so that she can achieve immortality. Sun Wukong killed her like three times. He and his master (Tang Sanzong) fought about it. It was a whole ass ordeal man🤣🤣
Whitch one was a sad/bad ending good ending and secret ending?
The one where he puts on the headband is the bad ending
In the original story, Wukong was still quite rebellious when he first became Monk Xuanzang’s disciple. Guanyin Buddha secretly gifted Xuanzang a headband that tightens with the associated spell. Xuanzang then tricked Wukong to wear it, and used the spell every time Wukong revolts. The headband then became part of Wukong as he was never able to remove it. (The game had it when the headband finally comes off as the original Wukong officially dies.)
Some interpret the headband as an epitome of discipline, rules, and humanity-after all, Wukong is a monkey, but many believe it is a shackle against freedom.
@@Andrea-ej751I’m Chinese, you are wrong. The gold headband is a delicacy, and made Wukong stronger and more protected. Not sure where you’re coming up with this nonsense. Read the book this unrealistic game is based on.
