Ok, so if the destined one was like "empty" and seemed devoid of personality all along the game, was it because he didn't had unlocked the memories of Wukong yet? Does that mean that in the true ending when he becomes Wukong he regains his personality and stop being emotionless???
@@MythofanMythological-n5uI think the destined one is actually every player, the narrative of this game is actually first person, that's why destined one has no emotions in the game. It would definitely make sense for Erlang Shen to assist Sun Wukong, especially after what he went through when his uncle, the Jade Emperor, killed his mother during Erlang's attempt to rescue her.
very good prospective. One of the best retold I have seen. There is one thing I'd like to add. I am 100% sure the Old Monkey is working with the celestial court... I don't think that the old monkey is working for the celestrial court. I believe that he is just a loyal follower of Wukong who purely wants to revive his king. As for the headband, he simply doesn't know better. This whole plan was Wukong secret plot, which no one else knows. Only ErLang Shen with his all seeing 3rd eye, which can reveal hidden intention, knows of Wukongs plot. I don't even believe that this was ploted by them both together. ErLang Shen might just found out about Wukongs plan through his ability and the rest was just a bro thing. Btw Erlang Shen is considered to be one of the most upright god from the heavenly court

Actually in chapter 4 there are clues about how people and yaoguai is breed as medicine to let the court stay immortal. The first chapter indicate that lingxuzi the old wolf revived by the black bear cant stand to eat their own people. So he dicide to kill himself instead of living in guilt. It suggest that in order to stay immortal you must keep eating your own kind.
The original story of journey to the west is about sun go kong learning his lessons to become a better person. Black myth wukong's story is the opposite of that.. It is about time, the heaven need to learn their lessons

wow what a video..,you did a really great job explaining the story and ambitions of Wukong in the game. love the video I hope it gains some more popularity soon.
He wants to break the cycle of consumption, and overthrow a divine order that harvests living beings to prolong its own existence. I'm rough on the details but the big picture is finally coming together. As critical of Buddhism (or at least the "Buddha") the novel and the game seem to be, it's ironic that the real-life Buddha would have agreed with Wukong's rejection of immortality and its cost. Great video, thank you
thanks glad it helps. exactly, the Buddha from the novel and game represents the ruling authority of the time when it was written and is not representative to the real-life religion.
Bro thank you for getting things clear, please make a video on the plausible future possibilities on the journey of the destined one. Thank you for making this video 🙏❤
Destined one? Or better put it this way Sun wukong reincarnated. Since he has all the senses of Sun Wukong which means automatically he becomes sun wukong
This was never my interpretation of the Monkey King. All of the stories I read indicate he desires freedom above all else, not equality of all beings. He defies authority that tries to layer responsibilities and titles as chains, and his ability to see through illusions is most telling in this.
I'm almost done with area 2 of wukong and ive been wondering too about what sun fights for, he clearly desires his personal freedom, but he go above and beyond and its not explained
I really like how game science add a lot of easter egg from the movie as well like the love of wukong that mention in the sea of memory the bone demon (due to mentioning of the tiger ridge the place where wukong fight the skeletal demon ) that wukong never forget his love the wukong lover are not mentioning in novel but was an adaption from the Chinese Odyssey movie and even the theme song that they add from the tv serie 1986 if you run a game in chinese langugae in the chapter 6 ending cant wait for the DLC
So my biggest take away after reading Journey To the West, playing Wukong and reading stories around Wukong is that Buddha is the greatest TRAITOR to all beings.
During the period the novel was written, considering the historical context, it’s generally believed the term “Buddha” refers the ruling authority of that time.
Since Black Myth is after Journey to the west event. So in the novel, do we know what happen afterward? Did reincarnation (Destined One) manage to fight Jade Emperor? Or Destined One story isnt written yet? What is Black myth actually?
As tcof said, BMW is just an another adaptation to JTTW. There is no the destined one in the original story. Whatever happens later is up for interpretation and let’s just wait for DLC. If you want to know about some relevant dark backstory, feel free to check out my previous video, it might give you an idea of why it’s called the black myth
Wow thank you I really didn’t get that as a native English speaker it was hard for me to understand all of the lil yet important meanings in there story’s like the elder story I understand the fox and young man story I understand that ur destiny is not written in stone but it carved out by are actions and beliefs like the great ocelot says there are no truths just interpretations
glad it has helped a little. I think I've seen some videos of the elder one, but it is basically about letting your desire eating into you and eventually destroy you. thumbs up to no absolute truths, only different perspectives and interpretations of reality.
Because of her he found himself again and because of him she lost sense of herself. When they look at each other and he sees her devolving into a spider and she sees him turning into his old self and fading in tears. Maybe if she forgets him, she will find herself again he thinks but she would rather be in hell with him than to be in heaven without. What a dilemma! 1000 lives of love's tragic cycle.... what a punishment! So beautiful!
Yeah, I didn't realize it until the little skip part scenes of the game. I'm not interested in the game. I never play the game. Little shorts of the game. That's when I realized when you start going to the other characters. Buddha is showing favoritisms, to immortal humans. While the humans are not no directly, being affected by the actions of the immortals. Yet he does not show any particular love or interest in them. Yet he allows the hatred of all those sentient no humans. Today's Buddha is some luck wealth God. You know originally Buddha was supposed to be a equality God. Being that's supposed to love all things fairly. Even though the actual Buddha was never a god at all. He was just an ordinary person. This is not part of the story. This is a real guy.
Black Myth Wukong may not be the Greatest Representation of Buddhahood or Bodhisattva but it’s Great Game, and to have Good Action Game, We need “Rage” 🎉🔥✨ this is still matrix or illusion of a pocket dimension m still programming codes but can make u think. Asura or Deva Demons or Celestials both sides are the counterparts of the SAME COIN. Good vs Evils became Dubious Nuances. Because there is no good or evil. because in the end, it’s still the same energy but usages of that energy is the differences. Just like a knife 🔪(energy), we use it cut vegetables or stab other beings.
Good job, and well done. If we believe human are basicly good, then everybody should re-evaluate the values of things as a human, not obey the values passed from god(others). If we believe human are basicly evil, then we also needs to think about who is responsible for that? Is it inherited from parents or infused by the God(society)? "What's in it for you?". Ask questions like Nietzsche, Kant。 Not follow the trained thought from Capitalism and Consumnism.
thanks! well said and I have my latest video discusses the human nature after going into details of the story told in chapter 3. feel free to check it out!
I love tbe game a lot. But making Wukong hate immortality shouldnt have been a thing. Most of the story of journey to the west Wukong is obsessed with his immortality. Including killing people who tease him that he can die just for insulting his immortality. To get the good ending and break the crown i think is a great enough reason for the rest of the game. Because he hates being trapped by that crown.

Such an amazing video 👏
very insightful. All the oxymoron are very well thought out
Haven't seen anyone trying to explain them before,so this is interesting.
In the end when the eyes flash
It was sun wukong waking up
And get the memories of Journey to the west😁
@@RyanLei8505 yes he got the memories flashing back slowly after the black smoke came out of they eye of erlang
A story about freedom. It was a great game. They better win GOTY
Thank you. I am renouncing my Buddhism
ohh the buddhism in JTTW and BMW does not represent the religion
@@HanlinGo219 true. in real life religion, Buddha-hood is not gaindd by "merits" but by enlightenment, it is a status not an title of power
Bro thank you for getting things clear, please make a video on the plausible future possibilities on the journey of the destined one. Thank you for making this video 🙏❤
That’s a difficult one! Will try! But I guess it will be the destined one getting back to the celestial court
Destined one? Or better put it this way Sun wukong reincarnated. Since he has all the senses of Sun Wukong which means automatically he becomes sun wukong
Very nicely explained!
Also in Chapter 2 ending, Bodhisattva Lingzi said classes and ranks are set and stone and none shall interfere it.
Underrated!!
The monkey king movies are hilariously good 😂
mind blowing as heck
Nezha is so damn cool!!
potential allies fo Sun wukong similar to Erlang
The best explained video for those that didn't get it
This was never my interpretation of the Monkey King. All of the stories I read indicate he desires freedom above all else, not equality of all beings. He defies authority that tries to layer responsibilities and titles as chains, and his ability to see through illusions is most telling in this.
damn, i didn't know my boy wukong was a comrade
The Great Sage Sun wukong only want three things from the court or heaven : fair, fair and f**king fair !
@@yihuang-ww4tl okay, added on it
Man this game is deep.
I'm almost done with area 2 of wukong and ive been wondering too about what sun fights for, he clearly desires his personal freedom, but he go above and beyond and its not explained
Not just for freedom but fair is what Sun wukong want. Freedom is important, but fair maybe worth more
I love your videos. Keep it going.
Glad you like them!
Nice job bro!👍
Damn lord in this deep as elden ring even it just a remake of old mythology
Great explanation. Many thanks 🙏
Excellent explanation friend
Perfect explanation
Glad you liked it!
I think they’re gonna make a second game where he actually fights the celestial court
It might come with the DLC
They have prepared 2 DLCs for this, including the battle in celestial court.
I really like how game science add a lot of easter egg from the movie as well like the love of wukong that mention in the sea of memory the bone demon (due to mentioning of the tiger ridge the place where wukong fight the skeletal demon ) that wukong never forget his love the wukong lover are not mentioning in novel but was an adaption from the Chinese Odyssey movie and even the theme song that they add from the tv serie 1986 if you run a game in chinese langugae in the chapter 6 ending cant wait for the DLC
nice!
the love of bilibili
b站来的+1
very clearly !Good work!
Great explanation bro
nice!Thank you for the video.
So my biggest take away after reading Journey To the West, playing Wukong and reading stories around Wukong is that Buddha is the greatest TRAITOR to all beings.
During the period the novel was written, considering the historical context, it’s generally believed the term “Buddha” refers the ruling authority of that time.
Great explanation ❤️
Thats fire
Since Black Myth is after Journey to the west event. So in the novel, do we know what happen afterward? Did reincarnation (Destined One) manage to fight Jade Emperor? Or Destined One story isnt written yet? What is Black myth actually?
No, the true JTTW end with them finish the journey, bring back Bulda book to China. End. Black Myth Wukong is a modern sequel make by modern people.
What happened later is concluded in God of High School
Wow thank you I really didn’t get that as a native English speaker it was hard for me to understand all of the lil yet important meanings in there story’s like the elder story I understand the fox and young man story I understand that ur destiny is not written in stone but it carved out by are actions and beliefs like the great ocelot says there are no truths just interpretations
glad it has helped a little. I think I've seen some videos of the elder one, but it is basically about letting your desire eating into you and eventually destroy you. thumbs up to no absolute truths, only different perspectives and interpretations of reality.
Om Ma Ni Pad Me Hum
3 universal truths
4 noble truths
8 fold noble paths
12:00 the journey
Because of her he found himself again and because of him she lost sense of herself. When they look at each other and he sees her devolving into a spider and she sees him turning into his old self and fading in tears. Maybe if she forgets him, she will find herself again he thinks but she would rather be in hell with him than to be in heaven without. What a dilemma! 1000 lives of love's tragic cycle.... what a punishment! So beautiful!
❤
I love the way you say Erlang shen
Thanks haha just how it is pronounced in Chinese
The character origin of WuKong is Wu ZhiQi
And Hanuman is just a servant never want freedom
Thanks I actually did not know about Wu ZhiQi! thanks for sharing.
And only... To be free
free may be for one but fair for all
Black Myth Wukong may not be the Greatest Representation of Buddhahood or Bodhisattva
but it’s Great Game, and to have Good Action Game, We need “Rage” 🎉🔥✨
this is still matrix or illusion of a pocket dimension m still programming codes
but can make u think.
Asura or Deva
Demons or Celestials
both sides are the counterparts of the SAME COIN.
Good vs Evils became Dubious Nuances.
Because there is no good or evil.
because in the end, it’s still the same energy but usages of that energy is the differences.
Just like a knife 🔪(energy), we use it cut vegetables or stab other beings.
Okay why do I feel WAY more Tuned in to listen to you @HanlinGO! 😂 I think it’s cuz you’re Asian n I trust your input on this 🙌🏾
LOL thanks for the acknowledgement!
