I use the scissors on takeout food condiment packets. I’m ordering a PowerPint tonight. Thanks for a great review!!

Also - note that these are left-handed scissors. They work best when held "upside down" and operated with the index finger instead of the thumb.

Thanks for the tip, I’ll definitely try that out next time I use them. 🙏

Seems like a good one and a decent price. I like that it has a pocket clip. Great video!!

Absolutely. This and the Skeletool have been my go to multitools lately. I definitely appreciate that it has a pocket clip as well. Thanks for checking it out!

Nice review. I agree on the tools. Only use a handful and would want bit storage over the other tools.

One gripe I got is the leatherman ratchet accessory fits but really gotta grip it in order to use otherwise its got tendency to slip out. Not sure if specific to mine or all of em. Otherwise great tool 🔧 👍🏽

The SOG PowerLitre is the sister tool to this but has a handle locking bar which greatly improves the bit driver functionality ...... the Leathernam Surge accessories pair great with this tool as you can grip the file and jigsaw blades in the bit driver.

I really like the PowerPint, however I can see the value of grinding both the cap lifter and file into slot screw drivers.
That being said, i carry my PowerPint in a Leatherman tool pouch along with a bit extender and 4 1/4" bits in a plastic straw (melted on end closed). I have all I need without modifying the tool.

I really like it too, a couple things I’d love to see changed if they ever do a version 2 but is really solid as is. Great idea on the straw for storing the bits, I may have to copy that idea! Appreciate you checking it out! 👊🏼👊🏼

look into the dewalt flip and switch. It's a bit holder that has reversible bits in it. Just the one holder carries 4 bits. can't beat it for the size and it goes perfectly with the powerpint.

In general I agree the material and some of the design could be improved, but the blades (knife, package opener) are very functional if you just sharpen them. IMHO like most other multitools SOG have included obsolete tools, the bottle opener could have been a medium flat screwdriver with wire stripper v notch, the can opener could have been a light duty prybar/large flat screwdriver. However with that said it is a litle powerhouse of a multitool. My biggest disappointment are the sissors but they are functional.
The PowerPint has tool unlocking tab on the other side of the handle (open the tool and you will see a black hinged tab, press down about an inch in from end and this releases the tool lock)
The SOG PowerLitre is the sister tool to this but has a handle locking bar which greatly improves the bit driver functionality ......
The Leathernam Surge accessories pair great with this tool as you mentioned the driver bits work well, you can also grip the file and jigsaw blades in the bit driver. Adding the Leatherman ratcheting driver extension really makes this a very functional compact tool kit

Absolutely, it’s not without its flaws but there is definitely a reason so many people like it. I didn’t realize this tabs were acting as the lock release until after I made the video but glad it’s there. I have the PowerLitre on my list to checkout but haven’t handled one yet. Thanks for watching and for the info! 👊🏼🛠️

Great tool and considering in New Zealand leathermans can get up to $500 so also great value and would recommend as a first multitool.

    • @UncommonEDC
      @UncommonEDC  ปีที่แล้ว

Absolutely! And yikes, $500 for a Leatherman is definitely not worth it. Thanks for taking a look!

One note. If you press the black metal on the back of the tools, it will unlock them.

Also if you open another tool half way then you can close the tool you were using this way you don't open the players to close one tool I've been doing this now

If your multitools aren't as smooth as you like it's because they need lubrication.

Everything is OK. but scissors are awful.

Agreed, not a fan of the scissors on these. Better than nothing but not great. Thanks for watching!
