- My 100th video!!! I wasn't sure what to name this one, if you have better ideas let me know :D Anyway, instead of one track, I have 5 new tracks for you!! I thought I'd put together a compilation of the battle/fight themes from the Faulconer Productions OST. I add my remake of Gohan Fights Frieza to the end just to top it off :) All the tracks are by Mike Smith.

Some notes:
- In Goku Battles, there are a few moments that stop and start that I took out of my arrangement. I wanted to keep the momentum up so I made the decision to close them up and focus on the main riff.
- For Vegeta Fights Frieza, I did another round of the whole track as a second half, where I added some extra chords to add more progression.
- I decided to keep Piccolo Vs. 17 the same, which made for a short track, but it could only have been extended effectively if I wrote a whole new part for it which I didn't have time to do.
- I mixed and arranged Goku & Gohan Train and Goku Trains For Buu together for my remake.
Also, I didn’t put as much effort into the visuals for this video as I do with my other videos, since this one was much longer. But I hope you enjoy my redrawings of some of these classic DBZ moments.

I love how much effort you put into keeping the original time signatures and such. Like all the tiny bits a lot of people just decide not to cover, is the reason I love your covers!
I’m definitely grateful that you appreciate that. Because it does get very meticulous 😅 That’s usually the first thing I plan out first, the tempo map. Most of the time, just matching it to the original track works, but sometimes the tempo fluctuates in subtle ways and so I have to be extra careful then. That said, I think that’s a big part of what makes these tracks so unique and awesome, and so i almost always love to remake them as close to the original as they were intended to be!

When I covered the Majin theme and especially imperfect cells theme I felt that struggle but also loved the challenge with how specific you have to be with them and over time it’s become the most fun part! Though when I did goku battles 19, I took it as an excuse to do a full ok thrash metal song but I appreciate you keeping the timings! I couldn’t find anyone else who even covered this song besides us :)

All of these covers were great! I really liked the Goku Battle cover as the opener. It's not a track I see get remixed very often, so showing it some attention was nice.

Ah thank you man :) The session is crazy because I have all 6 tracks in the same session! So there’s a lot going on. And I think the tempo changes are one of things that make these tracks so unique and cool.

All of these are sick but my faorite has always been Gohan fights Freeza followed by Goku & Gohan train. Piccolo v 17 is also very underrated. amazing mix!

Can't believe it's already been 100 videos. The first track sounds so good! I love the electric sound it has. Though it's honestly weird to hear that it's for Goku of all people. The chanting in the second track is heavenly. ❤ I never realized how similar Piccolo VS Frieza sounded so similar to Gohan VS Frieza! You basically uploaded 6 tracks to could be full videos in one! 😁👊 I have the grandiose idea of taking DBZ Kai and adding my Faulconer remakes into the soundtrack (not completely replacing the Kai score but just adding it where I think it would serve the story). It would be a lot of work but it would be like making my definitive version of DBZ 😅
@@GladiusThemes i second your idea.... one of the main reasons that i still prefer DBZ over DBZ kai is Chris Sabat's old vegeta voice and the Faulconer OSTs... bringing even one of them back to Kai would really make it "Definitive"👍🏻

This is one of my favorite videos from you now, amazing job on all songs in this set. That Vegeta Fights Frieza Remake completely smacks everything that i have heard from modern DB music. I really hope, if the anime comes back and and they modernize the dbz music, they at least reference this style. I can picture it my head of hearing this music in like UI Sign Goku vs Moro or something. Great job

Idk why there’s so much hate for the Faulconer/Dub soundtrack. This is part of what made Dragonball Z so great. The music matched the intensity or mood of the scenes. Just like most things that made Dragonball worth watching, it’s all but gone now. It’s a shame but this cover really brings be back.
It could be due to the lack of credit the producers got. Despite being called the Faulconer Score, there's not really a song made by him.

It’s quite a sonic difference from the original Kikuchi score, and its songs such as Cha La, Unmei No Hi etc. So if you grew up watching the original DB and DBZ, it will come as quite a noticeable change watching it with the Faulconer music. So I can completely understand why people wouldn’t like it, as sonically, it departs from the classic, martial arts style orchestral sound.
As someone who grew up watching the dub with the Faulconer soundtrack, and have come to love the original score too, having studied and made remakes of pieces from both; I see them as the alternate realities of the same story. Because, they definitely feel very different, yet, it’s the same adventure, the same characters, same struggles. That to me, is incredibly fascinating. I plan to make a video essay on this one day to share more of my thoughts on the subject.
@@GladiusThemes Sounds interesting, hopefully if you ever get a chance prior to doing that, you could check out the Hit Song Collections where most of the songs as well as tracks like Solid State Scouter or BPU originally came from, since they're decidedly more contemporary sounding than the main score and were practically being spammed throughout the original series run (but with only a few getting used in the actual series and most others being image songs).

I definitely thought about extending some of them, but it was already so much work making 5 tracks at once 😅 That’s one of the reasons I put them all together as a compilation. Hope that makes sense 🙏

Dang, so happy to see us return to the Faulconer stuff, as much as I love TONS of the Japanese score. Also feared we'd keep chasing the modern manga stuff, of the last few weeks, which I can't watch, because I've decided to hold out for the anime adaptation to happen in like... eight years...
Goku Battles is definitely a top contender, but the Frieza fight stuff is underrated, and definitely useful too. Just can't go wrong with the brawl-style themes.

You’re right!! I did say that 🥺 But as the date approached, I decided to make a different video instead- originally I was going to do an Ultimate Faulconer Productions Collection of my remakes, with about 36 tracks. But I didn’t have enough time to finish the remaining tracks (I have made part of DBZ finale already btw). So in the end I decided to make a FP battle mix compilation. Also it gives me time to save that video for a more special date potentially.
Yes I’m sorry about the new manga stuff, I have plans to work through the music for the Granolah Arc too very soon. I want to get all up to date with the Manga before Daima comes out, so I can do remakes for the Daima OST while we’re all watching it :)
I may have to take another break from posting, but in actuality, I will be continuing to make music and art for the channel for the next batch :)

Thank you! I didn’t plan to make full versions as I was just remaking the versions from the released soundtrack (not the anime versions). Tbh i actually forgot that Piccolo Vs 17 had a faster version, I may have added it if I had have remembered it. Sorry man! I’m not sure I’ll revisit it but you never know 😅
