- In celebration of the final Buu Saga review from Totally Not Mark, I thought it was about time I revisited and updated one of my earliest DBZ covers, SSJ3 Power Up! The original one I did was only less than a couple minutes long, and I never finished it, plus that was 2 years ago now, I've learned and improved so much since then!!
I've been working all week on this track, while juggling the artwork for this and Genkidama, while also beginning composing a new short film.... so I can definitely say I went even FURTHER BEYOND to make this- and that's Super Saiyan 3 for you, a power that one must find deep inside themselves to bring forth. I wanted to include the intro from when Goku demonstrates the different stages of Super Saiyan to Buu and Babidi, which @JJMDude reminded me of, so thank you!
So here we go, my new and improved, full version of SSJ3 Power Up by Julius Dobos!

I think this is the first cover I've heard that really gets the spirit of the song. It has oomph in all the right places, gets softer where it needs to, and most impressively adds extra things here and there that feel like seamless extensions of the song, rather than something completely new.

You, Saiyan Enigma, and Halusatwin do such a good job on remixing these themes to the point where they arent so different that they become unrecognizable but inatead feel like remastered versions almost. I think ur take on the Super Namekian theme would be awesime! Keep up the great work

THAT PART AT 2:18 THO!!! You really never miss with these! And i really love how you let the music slow down and build back up again, it's one of my gripes with the original that once it comes in, it doesn't slow down. So i'm glad you let the intensity stay strong with another build up :)
Yes that’s very true, the original is HYPE all the way haha. I definitely felt like it was missing a bridge section, or something to take it somewhere else for a bit, for it to then return with the main melody in full force ;) Glad you enjoyed the additions 😁

My god, what an UTTER perfect masterpiece Julius and Faulconer productions made.
It really takes the soundtrack to another level when it first plays like the SSJ3 transformation does, I remember watching an interview with Julius talking about it, and he was saying some like that whatever he decided to make had to go somewhere musically to a level the rest of the music hadn’t been yet 🎵

The fact that the final climatic moment of the whole series, when Goku blows up the Genki Dama, uses it, speaks volumes about it that no amount of collective high speaking I can give it, ever could.
The fact the world at large uses it for anytime they show even a SSJ1 transformation says it as well. It is the single most known song in the western DBZ. And it is known worldwide even in Japan, Africa, South America for people who have never seen the Funi DB dub. I think that says it all.
That beat at 1:00 though. Love this version.

I just don't get how you can continue to release these absolutely awe inspiring tracks. Seriously man, thank you so much. You're making a lot of DBZ/DBS fans happy with these. This is going straight into my gym playlist for sure.
The only possible suggestion I would have left would be "Vegeta Knows His Son" which is a small snippet that i think has good potential to be added onto with your style - that would be awesome.
I have so much love for DB, I’ve been thinking about it a lot lately- I think it might be my most beloved franchise, I’m a massive Star Wars fan but lately it hasn’t been everything it could be, while DB has maintained a legendary status in my life and continues to impact my life through its story and its music. So, making these, it brings me so much joy!
And getting to share that joy with people is just unreal, it’s wonderful.
It is a short track, very impactful though! I’ll have to think about it- to extend it or make it more epic could possibly take away from its brief moment of pensive, reflective emotional quality. I’ll have to listen to it again ✌️☺️

@@GladiusThemes I always listen to your remakes. My favorite themes are this one, Gohan Angers, Vegeta’s Hell’s Bells, the Ginyu Force, and Gohan Powers Up. The only thing I haven’t heard yet is Piccolo’s theme. That and my Falconer favorites would be done completely done. The agony I Force remake is my favorite of your list. Sorry, never saw DBS…but maybe something from GT? SSJ4’s Hero of Heroes 🤷🏾♂️
