Mario Kart DS (マリオカートDS Mario Kāto Dī Esu?) is a 2005 racing game developed and published by Nintendo. It was released for the Nintendo DS handheld game console on November 14, 2005 in North America, on November 17, 2005 in Australia, on November 25, 2005 in Europe, on December 8, 2005 in Japan, and on April 5, 2007 in South Korea. The game is the fifth installment in the Mario Kart series of video games, and the first to be playable via the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection online service, but has been terminated on May 20, 2014, along with other Wii and DS games. Like other games in the series, Mario Kart DS features characters from the Mario series, and pits them against each other as they race in karts on tracks based on locations in the Mario series.
Mario Kart DS is a racing game, in which the player races in a kart against other racers as one of eight characters, each with three karts to choose from. While racing or battling, the Nintendo DS's top screen offers a third-person perspective of the player's kart, while the bottom touchscreen shows the race's current standings, items carried by each racer, and a map of the course. The bottom screen can be toggled to show either an overview of the entire course, or a bird's-eye view of the players kart and the immediate vicinity, including nearby racers, course hazards, item boxes, and incoming attacks. Each course features item boxes that the player can drive through to receive a randomly selected item, which the player can use to gain an advantage over other racers. Some items allow the player to attack other racers to slow them down, while other items can be used to speed up the player's own kart to pass other racers more easily.

Gold trophies in 100cc nitro cups unlocks a 3rd kart for every character. And all gold trophies in 100cc retro cups unlocks Waluigi.

I got the game for Christmas when I was little (either in '04 or '05). My parents bought me the red Mario Kart DS bundle. I remember buying an issue of GamePro magazine like a year later that told you how to unlock more characters. By that time, I already had Dry Bones and Daisy, but I had no idea there were more. And I had no clue who Waluigi and ROB were! All they had was a blurry screenshot of a purple guy. I was so determined to unlock him. That shit's exciting when you're a kid haha.

I agree with you I prayed a lot of Mario games and I've never heard of Rob, and I've even play Mario Kart on the nests and I still don't know who rob is I never thought the Mario franchise had a robot in it

I think donkey Kong and bowser on the rob legs are the most beautiful things I've ever seen.
I miss when you had stuff to unlock in the single player in mario kart games. Mario kart 8 deluxe unlocks everything for you >:(

Wow, my memorial thoughts was right. Every non-standard kart in MKDS IS balanced in how many different characters can use it =0

If you beat this 100% with all challenges and missions done with top tier, you're pretty much a pro at Mario Kart.

I just played nitro and I came 1st place in every match after watching this... I didn't get dry bones but I got a new star map

man i only had 2 karts for all my characters (all except rob) i never knew i could get all those other things, i thought my dad did all that and complete it, but nope.
Trust me, when you unlock everything in this game (or any Mario Kart game), you will be very satisfied.
I got all of them. I think I know where my MKDS cartridge is somewhere, but I don’t know where my DSi XL is, but I do have my 3DS. Btw if you didn’t know you can play DS games on a 3DS.

When I first got the game I hade everything unlocked
GOD I always wondered how you unlock these when I was like 7
When u say all of the nitro cups, do you mean the 2 u have by default or do I have to unlock the other two
I completed the game when I was little I didn't know what delete data meant so I pressed it and now I think I was stupid when I was little
I only made it as far as unlocking daisy now that I saw this in going to play it again since I still have the game with me

And how do you unlock the extra cups so you can complete them all to get the extra characters and karts please?
What if right off the bat, you get gold trophies in 150cc Retro or Nitro without doing anything else? I assume you'll unlock the ability to use some other character's karts, but some of those karts themselves have not been unlocked. So would that mean at this point, each character has 4 karts? (Their two default ones, and two from other characters)
If you do that, You will unlock 7/10/Mirror Class with gold on every cup.
I have everything unlocked except for level 7 on missions.
How did you get the top screen different
+Beyblade master get a gold trophy on all the cups in all the classes.
What’s classes as a golf trophy? E.g c,b,a or star
Cyonated Gold. Not golf. You get a gold trophy by coming in first overall. The rank doesn't matter.

Whatever my video says it the correct answer. Mine is the newest, thus has the most recent information. I did a lot of research before creating it, as well as noted down what I unlocked while playing the game.

So did you have to complete all the cups in 150cc both Nitro Grand Prix and Retro Grand Prix to get Mirror Mode

how do you get these special cars (unlockables)
+IwillReckYou if you get a gold trophey on all the 100cc nitro cups, you'll be able to choose among 3 diffrent karts
if you get a gold trophey on all the 150cc nitro cups, then you'll be able to choose among 7 diffrent karts
and finally, if you get a gold trophey on all the 150cc mirror retro cups, you'll be able to choose among all karts.
there's a total of 36 karts for all characters.

I'm terrible at the game, so I haven't been able to go beyond gold for 100cc
I've tried to beat 150cc banana cup for ages and still cant get gold
or you could just do 150cc mirror cups in retro and get rob and all karts for everyone. PZEZ
