I buy timetables at train shows. Been doing that for 20 years. Before the internet timetables, books and videos were the only ways to find out about railroads. I always carry a radio scanner with me railfanning. I'd just as soon not go trainwatching if I don't have a radio.
Yeah, I couldn't believe my luck on that one. When I arrived I was the only railfan there. Cameron showed up a few minutes later but no one else. I guess it was too cold and windy for everyone. :-))
Awesome video, Danny. That 4-way meet at Crawford was spectacular. In my few times up there I've never been able to see such a meetup. Now it is a bit unfortunate the classic signals are about to have their days numbered up there. Also after the ballast was dropped at presumably Wildwood and Winter Haven from K981, the engines were turned and the train went on to Miami as Train K917, which now shuttles aggregate between Miami and WH like the FEC trains do for that airport project in Lauderdale.
I hope so. We've got a great Saturday scheduled this year. Pancake breakfast, Swamp train Presentation and the city cookout in the afternoon. Plus lots of CSX and Amtrak.
Also I have to say you inspire me as a rail fan you are so in-depth with little details that no one else does I graciously appreciate your videos peace out man have a great day
That trailing GE at 4:34 is probably the cleanest CSX locomotive I’ve ever seen. Norfolk Southern keeps their equipment 10 time more cleaner that CSX does.
It's really not that CSX doesn't bathe them, the paint used for YN2 just sucks. Someone in Waycross got fired because he posted a picture of a CW44AC after taking a bath. Supposedly a railfan outted him
Another great video Danny. CSX K981 was taking Ballast to Vulcan Materials somewhere south in the Central Florida area. I seen those kinds of trains in my area 3 times a week, however they run as Q776-Q778 and K956-K958 but mostly the Q train. Sometimes they have good CSX Power if they don't use a GEVO. SD70MAC would be nice. The crew are very friendly when they came by, I always get a shave and a haircut from them. It's amazing.
It was very good to see you video some NS trains Danny. One of your old vantage spots on the George Jenkins Bridge in Lakeland is about to get much busier. I see a lot of work going on there.
Part 2 was just as entertaining as the day that came before, another extremely well done compilation of a day's trackside happenings. Looks like you really lucked out at that arranged meet at the diamond, who could have asked for more?
Excellent video when I plan to head to Florida again I might as well stop in Jacksonville and catch some trains. Though maybe mostly for the NS. On The NS Southern Tier line in New York we get intermodels coming out of New England I have nerver seen a Triple Crown ever cross the line, though I wish I did.
I still can't believe how CSX double tracked through Ocala in under a year. I bet it will become one of the prime train watching locations in Central Florida once traffic on the S-Line get busier. I wonder what the NS will do when the CSX's Callahan sub gets busier. The crossover in Crawford is going to be even busier once CSX finishes the double track.
The K981 was destined for Winter Haven. CSX has been running rock trains out of Miami and parts of Georgia to Winter Haven for construction of the Winter Haven Intermodal & Logistics Center.
Railfan71xp Haha No They will Not be gone as the roadrailers are the best economical way to transport goods across the country and whoever told you that was lieing thru there teeth. the only way that you can tell is if they put it in the Trains Magazine or In Railroad & Railfan Magazine(true information coming directly from the Railroads). so Don't go saying things without finding the facts out from the Railroad FIRST. and what you did was a Big NO NO when it comes to being a Railfan. JUST an FYI the roadrailer has been around since norfolk southern started back in 1980/1990 after the conrail merger and i don't think they will be gone anytime soon.
I've never seen that truck road raider setup up here in Illinois yet. It's pretty slick. Do you know how long it's been around or who invented the idea? I live about 60 miles west of Chicago and about 25 miles south-east of Rockford and live within a mile of the old Milwaukee Road now CP and the old Illinois Central now CN Freeport subdivision and was born and raised one town away where these two lines cross each other and both come out of Chicago, but I still don't see a lot of theses inovations that you see show up down there where your from. You luck dog you! Another great video!
A homeless person under the bridge with a video camera. LOL Danny, I think you made that engineers' day when he watched you jump. :) Another Emmy winning vid sir! I always enjoy your camera work and editing skills.
Hello Danny 2 minutes in in this video there is a Norfolk Southern GE Dash 8 that has - 9 trucks I think it's Road numbers 88-76 look that locomotive up for me I think it's got more modern trucks underneath it like it's a rebuild I'm curious I've never seen a - 8 with - 9 trucks peace out Danny have a great day
Surely 330's horn-code as it pulled up to that crossing on the way out of the yard wasn't compliant? "two long, one short, one long", not "random parping"...
head to valdosta and u will see 330 at their railyard when they stop to change crews. had the chance to meet them when i worked at the 11. a good crossing is baytree rd. wouldnt recommend the yard as its the ghetto there. also on north valdosta rd on the bridge. i always saw the triple crown train every day. ive moved to michigan now

Makes it more enjoyable for sure. I recently purchased one.

Don't worry. CSX is putting up brand signals there.
OK thanks Harrison. That makes sense now that I look closer at those hoppers. You can read Vulcan on them going by. Good catch.
Oh it was so loud you can't believe it. You'd think I would know better by now. :-))
DH
Yeah, the Old Callahan sub is going to be a crazy piece of railroad soon.
I hope so. We've got a great Saturday scheduled this year. Pancake breakfast, Swamp train Presentation and the city cookout in the afternoon. Plus lots of CSX and Amtrak.

4 Trains at Crawford at once! Thats 4x the TRAINTASTIC FUN, DANNY. And i love your videos too.
I have even startled myself with my own horns if I haven't blown them for a while. It's easy to forget just how loud those things are.
@ 10:40 I am glad you warned us about the horn. Wearing headphones watching this was loud as well. LOL.
Thanks!
Yeah, I'm going to check out that area this weekend.
That trailing GE at 4:34 is probably the cleanest CSX locomotive I’ve ever seen. Norfolk Southern keeps their equipment 10 time more cleaner that CSX does.
Agreed!
It's really not that CSX doesn't bathe them, the paint used for YN2 just sucks. Someone in Waycross got fired because he posted a picture of a CW44AC after taking a bath. Supposedly a railfan outted him
And that railfan has been blacklisted and banned from any railfan events
@@railfanlynx Do you know whom it was?
I subscribed to your TH-cam channel and turn on nonfictions

Many thanks! The stories of railfan outings are my favorite part of this.
DH
Scared the living daylights out of me. Incredibly loud under that concrete bridge.
Thanks!
DH
Danny. I loved all the trains you was able to get on video...I love the N & S trains....
I think that engineer did that on purpose when you saw you there under that bridge. hehe
You are my favorite train channel
Loving all the NS engines in this
Now that opening! That’s a rare sight!
A very nice production.
Thanks very much. Your comments are worth all the effort.
DH
Thanks Johnny!
It was very good to see you video some NS trains Danny. One of your old vantage spots on the George Jenkins Bridge in Lakeland is about to get much busier. I see a lot of work going on there.
NS and a CSX crossover? Woah...I'd watch that all day!!!!!!!!!
Part 2 was just as entertaining as the day that came before, another extremely well done compilation of a day's trackside happenings. Looks like you really lucked out at that arranged meet at the diamond, who could have asked for more?

theNOVABUSfan I Love Those Horn’s Thank’s
I think you mean the "best part"!
Honestly i love that horn
Good unless you’re under that bridge.
Nah fam.
The Vulcan rock hoppers I see here look the same so I knew it was Vulcan. Keep up the good work.
HD
Awesome vidio, love the commentary in here.
I used to live in hypoluxo..on us 1
you saw trains north n south all the time...but I had no idea the network of other tracks
Fantastic four way catch at Crawford, Danny.
More memories. Remember the oddball crossing of NS at Hampton? All gone...
Yes! I also remember that wierd crossing at Lake City where NS came onto the CSX and 300 feet later went off on another switch.
My goodness. I swear CSX never stops building.
Danny Harman scared that's a first lol I would probably be scared too with that beautiful horn under the overpass lol
nice K5LA on the 8876

I would need a tripod on Q613, dang that horn was loud...

Muy interesante, el cruze de vias. Y la rapidez de algunos trenes. Gracias por su trabajo excelente vídeo y muy explicativo
Love your videos!!!!
That train that went under the bridge made you jump lol
When the Callahan sub was still a single main:
Another advantage of roadrailers is zero coupler slack
"It scared the Bajesus out of me." Lol I would have been scared too.
I had a good laugh about Q613 blowing its horn in your face under the overpass...
It got you good
It's good you saw the roadrailer, they'll be gone in 2015.
+GRE “Autopilot” 2057 those are some powerful horns

GRE 2057 oh sorry my bad lol 😄😄😄😄
GRE 2057 haha. That’s funny in 2018 their gone.
He got you good
I think Q613 blew that horn under the bridge on purpose lol

How come all the trains were going so slow over the diamond? Excellent Video
That’s NS 330
Hahaha! You might be right.
DH
Surely 330's horn-code as it pulled up to that crossing on the way out of the yard wasn't compliant? "two long, one short, one long", not "random parping"...
Great language explanation. Just listen to the trains will put me to sleep. Later.
When the 4 trains 229 330 k-685 and q-602 were there they look like they were about to fight
head to valdosta and u will see 330 at their railyard when they stop to change crews. had the chance to meet them when i worked at the 11. a good crossing is baytree rd. wouldnt recommend the yard as its the ghetto there. also on north valdosta rd on the bridge. i always saw the triple crown train every day. ive moved to michigan now
+lcfrss174 you get to see em again the NS Closed the Triple crowns so now they operate Detroit to KC
Or a railfanning spot for a few railfans
8:30 WAY down the line behind Q453 was that a autorack behind another train or being stored?
CSX 9024 C40-9W, Ex C44-8W.
I bet your heart is beating really fast
Do trains come on that other railroad at the diamond at 11:45
I'm laughing pretty hard at you because you got scared by a csx train horn
(1:40) This crossing is now closed and the crossing signals taken out, right?
hey Danny are you prepared for folkston railwatch 2013?
I LIKE INTERMODAL CARS
my ears would bleed if that happened
great!
How do you know that a train goes from that place to the other passing thru so and so?
thank you
Mi
(NS Southern Tier line is where I'm from)
