    There's a switch here in Farmer City but it's locked 99% of the time to let the trains run. They only ever open it to put cars on the other line in town for an order of grain. The other line continues on to a dead end. I'm here off the Gilman sub, it goes right behind my house and we get 1 or 2 trains in a 24 hour period. I wish there were more. I love watching them.

    Also as an additional note, the power move's engines were originally in Wildwood Yard, hooked to a north facing ballast train. Probably indeed a power balance move.

    Many of those reroutes Like with the double stacks are due to construction of the sun rail on the A line

  • @distantsignal
    @distantsignal  11 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Yeah, the 1st double stack was R-177, Duval - Taft. I don't think that's ever coming back to the A-Line though.
    The Q-045 is an S-Line train. Former Q-189, all traffic for Uceta ramp in Tampa.

    Haven't seen this one. As usual, perfection, informative, and great shots. With regard to the train stopping so the conductor can board, in my day I would've boarded the moving train. It's a lot of trouble to start the train, bring it to a stop, and then start again, but I guess things have changed since my days as a brakeman on the SP Hearne, Tx sub.

    Nice video Danny. Nice to see both BNSF and Union Pacific locomotives on CSXT. I guess the big two Western Class 1's have a kindled romance with CSXT. And the icing on the cake was spotting that former Great Northern Railway woodchip hopper on Q452. It's the second car in the consist behind a classic CSXT "Do Not Load" hopper! You really made my day. :-)

    I'm not sure how CSX works out a deal with BNSF and UP for the run through power. Are those pool locos or do they just go from point to point and back again? I also caught to old Great Northern car at the end. I have not seen one of those Goat Cars in years!

    Wow, RJ Corman based out of my neck of the woods? KY? That's kind of cool. It seems that on the rail line outside of my neighborhood seems to be getting a siding added pretty soon. Norfolk Southern had it started earlier this year, clearing a path along the current track, just recently set down a turnout next to the track last month. No further progress has been made, and I haven't been able to find any news about it from Norfolk Southern.
