Jump cuts, no HDMI management chip, board looks single layer with a handful of traces, JUMP CUTS, no per-channel caps for RGB, this is sketch AF. Jump cuts. I can't get over how suspicious jump cuts are. He also pretended to press a button on the console, but pressed the accelerate button on the gamepad. Gonna guess they made a custom menu in Batocera and they will ship a Rockchip in a year and a half to much anger.
in the video they edited a double mouse click sound at 0:52, just after putting the game first, a sound that they already edited and is not heard, who tells you that they do not have a laptop behind the TV, also the reservation is 3 € and if they do not reach 1000 units, they keep the money hahahahaha ... in fact one of their comments says it, the double mouse click thing, I am from Spain and it seems to me a joke in bad taste, it seems like a bad joke told, presentation, image .... everything ... 500 € - £ approximately ... are you joking or what? ... without scanlines or submasks ... you make a core of this magnitude and you are not capable of that?? ..... garbage ... do not reserve they keep the money if they do not reach a thousand ... I do not understand who they want to fool ..
Whenever I have a question about something like this (like will it ever arrive, is it real, etc.) I just pretend it doesn't exist at all, and then maybe some day I'll be pleasantly surprised. :D
The heat sink and fan are covering whatever is actually running here, and because there's a stick of laptop RAM on the side, my guess is it's actually some kind of x64 processor module which handles most of the tasks. Was finally able to see it when it zoomed into the upper right corner but it seems like they are using a 3.5mm jack for audio for the component and S-Video outputs which is a little odd.
They honestly shouldn’t have jumped in too deep, and had to lie to make up for their shortcomings. Collectorvision worked their tails off and made a FPGA Colecovision. They should’ve reached out to them, release an FPGA Master System and SG-1000.
In the twitter link in the pin comment, you have a screen capture of the HDMI port. There are 5 or 6 solder blobs shorting half the pins. Any devices with a connector like that wouldn't be able to output anything.
I wouldn't be surprised if this is just emulation. That'd also explain how they want to make Dreamcast work later on. Nothing wrong with that (to me anyway) since the RetroN5 did a similar thing but then I seriously hope they fix their marketing as everyone expects FPGA grade stuff here rather than yet another emulation device with cartridge dumpers built in.
There is no Game Gear cart slot oddly enough. There are more Game Gear games than Master System and SG-1000 which makes it even more weird. Also why are they using Compact Flash, it is a dead storage medium.
SEGA DREAMCAST WAS AND IS WAY UNDERRATED! IT WAS A DECADE AHEAD OF THE COMPETITION AND NOBODY KNEW UNLESS YOU WERE SMART ENOUGH TO BUY THE $500 BEAST. 😂
Reminds me a bit of the polymega console that was announced in 2017 and supposed to be an all in one modular FPGA-based system but ended up being a modular software-based emulation platform eventually when they realized they couldn't do it the FPGA way. The same M.O was used by then with brief videos presenting gameplay, making tons of promises but never showing proper technical parts or components and never giving proper technical answers to questions (where are the coders ??) :=))
People are worried because of the 1st video, and the 2nd one "without cuts" is just as bad. It's still sketchy as hell, shot with one hand with a shaky cam, instead of a camera on a tripod, aimed at the whole setup. Gameplay is delayed from what he does on the controller by a solid second. This is explained to be "input lag". No viable console has input lag that bad. There is no demonstration of disc based games running from a drive. Making things worse, there's also a comment from the channel basically saying all negative comments, or comments casting doubt on the project will be deleted.
@@SNKev411 you'll likely be disappointed, there's more than right here. More information is coming to light about this project, and honestly, it's not looking good.

Even if the Super Sega was totally legit, it's a terrible value proposition compared to just buying a Dreamcast and a Taki Udon FPGA bundle to emulate everything up to Saturn with hardware emulation, or a Steam Deck OLED to emulate everything up to PS3 with software emulation.
@@puertoricanguy999 in all fairness, these guys have shown way more then other alleged upcoming projects, whether it materializes or not is another matter.

The only selling point I can think of for this is the Dreamcast functionality, which is 99% probability a straight up lie, and even if true will probably be a worse experience than the 3 or 4 best CPU & GPU based Dreamcast emulators.
They have a picture on their website showing the FPGA they are supposed to use : A Xilinx ZYNQ ultrascale+ XCZU2CG-SBVA484 which has only 103320 LE according to Mouser so... 12000 less than the Cyclone V in a MiSTer. And they want us to believe they can run a Dreamcast core on that ??? Mwahahahaha 😂😂😂... What a bunch of clowns 😄
So it has Laptop Ram, by the looks of has a chinese knockoff Yamaha sound chips , and some Chip Capacitors, Sandisk Ultra Compact Cards Its not that popular most Console Clone makers prefer Micro SD Cards I am guessing this guy wanted to go cheaper lol?
In terms of the hardware, it looks to be real. Just a question if it gets off the ground and enough development to fully support all those cores. I give them props to have come this far as such a small team with limited resources.

The sound of the double mouse click is still audible. Maybe they have attenuated its volume but it is still there in the second 52.
this is going to be software emulation if it ever sees the light of day
