What many owners and dealer sales agents don't know, is the front sun visors can slide on their mounting when unclipped! Brilliant for when the sun is between normal sun visor position and the rear view mirror!! And when you swing the visors to the side, it also slides on its mounting so you don't have sun glare or burn in that irritating gap with door pillar!!! I know this coz I own a 2021 version.
The new Everest in this Platinum spec looks great, a major step forward for Ford- well done to the styling department! It definitely appeals to a particular market who will get caught up in the perceived looks and gadgetry - but underneath all the plastic it will be guaranteed to be plagued with Fords questionable build quality. Great video. Although, I'd like to see it up against the new Prado-when it eventually comes out 😁. However, in Australia, there's a good few Rangers that simply switched off and another that applied brakes at 80km/h. Saw these on TH-cam. Would there be any comment on this from Ford SA. Before I found out about the new Prado, I was ready to sign the OTP for a Platinum, however, now I'm waiting for the Prado. . Reliability of the Toyota is very hard to beat.
New Prado has definitely had a much needed updated. I'm not in love with the new exterior look though. Also the GXL will price match this platinum, with the Kakadu being around 20k more expensive. Interesting comparisons to be made.
isnt the Platinum supposed to have the Matrix LED Headlights? i noticed none of the Wildtraks currently for sale on Autotrader has the Matrix LEDs too. What is the story there? see its standard on the aussie versions of the Everest Platinum and available as an option (Performance Pack upgrade) on the Wildtraks.... or is it a case same as when Toyota launched the 8th gen locally back in 2015/6 and it just came with standard halogen headlights and after a year or so the HID with LED eyebrow DRL was introduced? if it is to curb costs on a R1Mil + car, that is just silly...

Looks great! Saw one in person the other day. Would still get a Fortuner or Prado though - will give less problems if you plan on keeping the vehicle for longer, and if not will offer higher resale value. Toyota desperately needs a V6 diesel!
@@tonynogueira8900 Never mind the fact that you need a advanced driver course to keep a Fortuner on its wheels if you hit a corrugated road, they still love to lay on there roofs!!
That is total nonsense about reliability and just a Toyota "Sales Pitch" because that's all they have left as there products have stagnated over the last couple of years . Watch when the new Fortuner comes out its going to be at least 100k more expensive with mediocre engine and trim levels as is the case with most of there vehicles. I find it really funny when people say Toyota have good resale when there car cost 100k more to begin with, Resale is only relevant if you talk about lower end market as any car over 500k will drop in value substantially the higher there original price escalates.
We had 20+ Toyotas and Fords since the 2000s. Toyota was always the best but it has really changed since 2015. All Toyota is reliable and second hand value, nothing more. Objectively Ford is better in every other category. We have had 6 Fords in our family since 2015. None of them has ever broken down or had a problem. Our 2016 Ford Ranger 3.2TDCi 4x4 supercab has 250 000km and is stilling running like new. Toyota has always won reliability, but its getting really close. The last thing Toyota has going for it is second hand value.
Lol overpriced yet it's still being bought, it's not just South Africans, people can't have preferences now and stick to their preferences? Because of some loser who find it outed? 😂😂😂 ai you have issues boet
In reality, you can't say anything about this until you go for a comprehensive test drive. This is a new dawn for SUV's in SA, nothing on the roads in that price bracket can come close to the new Everest. Go and test drive it, your mind will be blown.
Fortuner Everest mux Pajero sport were all great, the one thing that bothers me is the trailblazer, once a 7 Seater Colorado SUV turned into crossover Damn Mary Barra
Why are there no Matrix LED lights on all SA Ford Ranger and Everest models? Knowing other markets are getting them and we are not is so not on. Thats one of the best features and its missing.....makes me think twice about buying the Wildtak.
I have the Gen2 Everest, and I love it a lot! Best car I've ever had, not worried about climbing onto things, fitting things (and people), etc, so obvs my dream car is the new Everest. But I'm disappointed that there are only 2 options available in SA, either blacked-out like G.I. Jane (cause that's exactly what a 30 something mom wants 🤦♀️) or pay over a million bucks for a "normal" looking SUV that kills me on diesel 🤔 Love the big screen though, I noticed they switched the cruise control buttons to the other side of the steering wheel, that will take some getting use to! Also, the plug is very disappointing 😞 The 2 biggest issues I have with my Everest are: 1. The spare wheel is not the same size as the tires on the vehicle and 2. The painted door handles scratch like crazy. Would have liked a more in-depth look at the features that make the new Everest better in this video, but thanks for the review!

Think its an amazing car ... all the right features, looks good and is priced right ... probably wont last forever as a toyota but who wants to drive a car forever ... btw my ranger is 6 years old with no issues ... cannot speak for others ... reliablity i cannot complain about and ford has given me 1st class service
Love it.would love to see this in a fast charge PHEV..that can run tools and my home and office as we continue with 6 hours blackouts per day. That has now gone up in JHB stage 6
And it wont be getting better in next 10 years until IPP start .
15:55 is that like a bag where the whole bicycle goes into? When did people start doing that now???
8:07 Coming up from Hout Bay side to Alphen Hill drive☺👍
Since last 6 years ( may 2016 )I am watching your videos ❤😍😍
First video I saw on ur channel
That video is comparison between Toyota Fortuner vs Ford Everest depth video

Love from INDIA ❤
I think Ford should make an Everest Raptor for South Africa and the Asia Pacific.
Using the same twin turbo V6 as the Ranger Raptor.
I think that's the only time I'd consider buying an Everest
It's complicated bcs they have to fit the fox shocks😅😢
looking forward to the new landcruiser prado review
Love the French Fry feature
Can't get this car in the UK. But if it was available it would be expensive on fuel as here in the UK it is equivalent to 34. 00 ZAR per litre.
Reminds me of the Jeep Grand Cherokee. The pricing has moved to another level. Fortuner will outsell it and Prado will hold better value.
Looks great! Saw one in person the other day. Would still get a Fortuner or Prado though - will give less problems if you plan on keeping the vehicle for longer, and if not will offer higher resale value. Toyota desperately needs a V6 diesel!
Fortune you need now to have 2 trackers for the insurance.
Great review. Is there anything on its reliability?
Ford is the best when it comes to handling and steering precision
We had 20+ Toyotas and Fords since the 2000s.
Toyota was always the best but it has really changed since 2015.
All Toyota is reliable and second hand value, nothing more. Objectively Ford is better in every other category. We have had 6 Fords in our family since 2015. None of them has ever broken down or had a problem. Our 2016 Ford Ranger 3.2TDCi 4x4 supercab has 250 000km and is stilling running like new. Toyota has always won reliability, but its getting really close. The last thing Toyota has going for it is second hand value.
Great talk, but sales will tell in the end.
In the words of "Mr How much". Well done Ford, Well done
It's a great car, but the Fortuner will continue to outsell it because South Africans are addicted to outdated, overpriced Toyotas.
Lol overpriced yet it's still being bought, it's not just South Africans, people can't have preferences now and stick to their preferences? Because of some loser who find it outed? 😂😂😂 ai you have issues boet
True 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Let's compare reliability lol
Reliable
As they said, reliability… Ford will never come close. 4 Toyota’s in the garage
I would say it's pretty well spec car and that made me change my mind about fortuner and hilux
When are you doing the new Amarock?
"You might think it's a Ford Platinum"... I died 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ciro, I can see that the Christmas season has been good to you
awesome detailed and useable review Ciro.
what an attractive and beautiful SUV.
love it
Many thanks!
Excellent looking vehicle
Definitely the car I would buy right now if I had that kind of money lol
Just a shame about the adblue and that you don’t get it with the matrix headlights
In reality, you can't say anything about this until you go for a comprehensive test drive. This is a new dawn for SUV's in SA, nothing on the roads in that price bracket can come close to the new Everest. Go and test drive it, your mind will be blown.
Fortuner Everest mux Pajero sport were all great, the one thing that bothers me is the trailblazer, once a 7 Seater Colorado SUV turned into crossover
Damn Mary Barra
Well... Ford did say that the Everest competes with the Prado than the Fortuner hence the price.
Why are there no Matrix LED lights on all SA Ford Ranger and Everest models? Knowing other markets are getting them and we are not is so not on. Thats one of the best features and its missing.....makes me think twice about buying the Wildtak.
And the Amarok will have them locally.
Looks good! Gorgeous SUV
Apparently People are already having problems in Australia with the gearboxes...
Please do next gen Ranger
