      @@grumpyvetgarage done. I have the gen2 b58 too I’m starting to build on my channel as well I can’t wait to see what direction you take 🫡

    On the gen 1 b58s we had customers go from the flowmax+ to the ultraflow and on 93 there was almost no performance difference and on e50 the performance difference was marginal. You really need port injection and ethanol to even make use of the ultraflow’s extra size. The trade off for our customers is about 500-1000rpm difference in spool going from the latest flowmax to ultraflow

    • @grumpyvetgarage

      My plan is to go port injection and play around with ethanol but wanted to get decent performance on 93. 1000rpm in spool is a big trade off for only a small gain. What numbers were your customers with the Ultraflow on 93? Thank you commenting and providing such great information.

    • @behindthebuild8016

      Yes on the street you really notice 1000rpm as minimal as it sounds. We were seeing about 460whp but sometimes less depending on the 93 fuel quality

    • @grumpyvetgarage

      @@behindthebuild8016 Your definitely right, fuel quality is huge. The A90 Supra with the Gen2 B58 has been putting down 520-550whp on 93 with upgraded turbo (pure800 or larger) and cooling (upgraded manifold and heat exchanger). I'm hoping the DAW 6769 might be able to push power passed that if I use Port Injection along with a upgraded manifold and heat exchanger.

    great video
    i just order the DAW 6466 and my main goal is like you
    the 93 tune
    i can totally relate to your explanation
    any updates?

      Thanks. The 6466 is a great turbo as well. More progress on the Supra coming. It will be supporting mods to get ready for either a 6466 or 6769 and custom tuning in the hopefully not too distant future.

    shawn sent me a 6466. and im on the fence about asking to upgrade to the 6769. goal is just reach 600hp/550tq stock everything with port injection + E. trying to get that power on 93 is going to be hard but not sure if i should stick with a 6466 or get the 6769 for 800-900 build.

    • @grumpyvetgarage

      It seems like the support for the B58 is expanding and the DAW 6466 or the 6769 will support power similar or better than the Pure850 or the new Pure900 (should be coming soon). Port Injection + Ethanol will get you over 600whp with the 6466 or 6769. I think the 6769 has a better chance of making that 600whp on 93. The 6466 is still a great turbo more aligned with the performance of a Pure850 in my opinion, which from what I've seen has not made over 550whp on 93.
      Really either turbo is going to be good, I'm leaning toward the 6769.

    I have a gen1 B58 and I’m trying to decide on the 6466 or 6769. I have an end goal of 700whp but not right off the bat. I understand that bigger turbos are more efficient than smaller turbos when it comes to making moderate power. Basically the 6769 will make the same amount of power up top as the smaller ones but with less psi so less heat and lower egts which means more efficiency

    • @grumpyvetgarage

      The efficiency range is bigger on a large turbo is compared to a smaller turbo. The small turbo will spool faster but at the top end boost will create more heat than the larger turbo will at the same boost level, but the larger turbo will also have much more top end performance than the smaller turbo could ever make. Basically, the 6769 will make more power at a given boost level than a smaller turbo, due to less heat but it accomplishes this at the expense of spooling slower (turbo lag).

      @@grumpyvetgarage I’m not really worried about 1/4 mile times as I won’t be drag racing much if at all. I’m more of a roll racing type and care more about 60-130 times. Tq will be limited to about 550-600 for the stock transmissions sake. I’m leaning towards the 6769 and willing to sacrifice down low spool time

    • @grumpyvetgarage

      @@iJustB58 I agree with you. I think on the roll you will already have the turbo spooled and the 6769 will give you the performance you're looking for with plenty of room to make even more power.

    So would i be able to use this safely if i get the mhd+ unlocked ecu route? Or would it need to be a cloned ecu

    • @grumpyvetgarage

      A unlock of so sort will be required if you have a locked DME. After the unlock, any change in turbo size will require custom tuning for that turbo. So no, you would not be able to safely use this turbo without a tune for this turbo. Let me know if you have any other questions.

    • @WNDRFL1

      @grumpyvetgarage oh no I know you would have to get a tune. I just wasn't if the only way to be able to do bigger turbos or top mount was through a fully cloned 2020 ecu or would femto unlock be enough and have enough safety parameters post tune

    • @grumpyvetgarage

      Gotcha. A Femto unlock with MHD+ has all the capabilities to safely tune for a 6769 or Full-Frame top mount turbo.
