Awesome footage, love them deps flukes. I get more life out of em with a screw lock beast hook than the ewg. Then mend it when I get home lol. Things ain’t cheap. Nice work man.
@@boatsbeats someone else just recommend that to me also. Gonna give it a shot! I love Deps products, but durability definitely isn’t their strong suit 😹 Thanks for watching!
I usually use a 7’2 or 7’3 MH for flukes but i was throwing a bigger bait with a 5/0 superline hook (basically a 2x), and it was around some cover. The MBR taper makes the 7’6 heavy a little more versatile than a normal 7’6 heavy because it does bend a little deeper into the blank. Still probably not the absolute perfect rod for it but i make do with what i have 😹
I haven’t fished down there since april so i’m not sure what it’s looking like but there’s a few things i’d say to try. A glidebait or jerkbait (or weedless fluke) is good to fish around docks and weed clumps as long as it isnt too thick. Keep a frog handy in case there’s some matted up grass. You could also fish some offshore rock with a deep crankbait or a jig if you have the electronics to find that stuff. Drop shot on the ends of docks is probably a safe bet if you can’t get bit on anything else. Hope you catch em!

I remember first time I ever went to Clear Lake I stuck an 8lber dock skipping. Gotta love the ol' "Bass Factory"
It’s one of those special places bro. Wish it wasn’t a 2 hour drive
Spending four to five hours total travel time for a day trip is a pain.
Otherwise I'd be up there all the time
@@nicholasmurakami9895 yeah it ain’t ideal. Next time im gonna stay the night at state park
I think clear lake is dope ..fish are huge there
@@txivhuabtais7406 absolute giants in there forsure! One of my favorite lakes

Can’t wait to hit Clearlake good shit bro
@@eddiehfishing yessir, hope you smash em! It’s magical up there
A 7’6” H for the fluke? I wouldn’t have expected that. The MBR taper is the key? Are you using the heavyweight fluke version?
