@@MrCalamiteh this fish was probably in about 10 or 11ft. You don’t HAVE to hit bottom, but I definitely prefer it. The deflection is what triggers the bite a lot of times unless you’re just reeling through suspended fish and in that case you should use a stop and go retrieve to try to trigger that same reaction. If i had to give 3 tips on deep crank fishing i’d say 1.angles matter. I like to fish at a 45 degree angle on the structure until i figure out the depth they are keyed in on then i might just parallel it. And i usually fish uphill to keep good bottom contact but dont fish at a 90 or you will get snagged way more. 2. Don’t feel like you have to reel your crankbait slow. Sometimes that can be the deal but more times than not its a reaction bite, so burn it past their face, make them decide in a split second instead of being able to look at it. 3. Pay attention to feel. When you’re grinding bottom and it feels like its just ticking smaller rocks keep reeling, but when you hit something hard, stop, pause your bait to let it float up, then continue your retrieve. Soooo many bites come when you do that.

@@jacklieu28 jerkbaits and glidebaits, that’s pretty much it, and sometimes I won’t use them on those either, but it does make changing baits easier, and can also add some weight to the nose of a bait if you want that

Thanks for watching! I hear ya 100% I go back and forth about my videos constantly. My last 2 videos were tournaments and there was a clear lack of dialogue about the fishing, and also a lack of down time, which felt like it wasn’t properly depicting how tough the fishing was. It was just fish catch after fish catch and then weigh in, so i guess in the back of my mind as I was editing this one was to make sure i showed the process of getting out there, having a plan, not getting bites, adjusting, and then getting into some good fish later on. And then i put the time stamps in there so if people wanna just skip forward to the fish catches they can. But I definitely hear you and its a balance i’m trying to find in not having redundancy and just unrealistic videos thats just me catching fish the whole time and nothing else, but not having too much down time and talking to the point that people click off. I appreciate the feedback, and will take it into account when i’m editing the next one!

Yeah i’m an idiot. I have them in a little box with my spare remote batteries and stuff, and completely forgot. Usually i can just get on the other side of the rock and pop it or pull and it’ll come out so i havent needed to use them much, but definitely good to have

Library park or Clear Lake State Park. There’s also some different spots in Nice, parks and then the bridge in Rodman Slough. I haven’t done too much shore fishing up there but thats what i can think of off the top of my head
