    Enjoy the vacation Josh, I appreciate you taking the time to dive into clearances and some of the internal differences. In your opinion is an 800-900hp build something that can be put together as a daily driver with the occasional 2 or 3 passes at the track on a Saturday? Or would you recommend sticking to a lower number?

      ya anything sub 1200hp i feel can be daily driven with the clearances on a cast piston

    I appreciate the fact that you show all the sides of high performance yes 2500hp trucks are awesome but they also require lots of work and they tear up a lot. Many people have unreasonable expectations of what these things will do. Also because every stock truck with a tuner makes 800+hp people don't think a 1000 is very wild. Of course those 800hp truck might on their best day make 500 on a dyno so things get skewed pretty fast.

    Please elaborate on the plastic tips. Is this on the valve bridges? All 5.9 CR’s have these? Late 6.7’s are metal and interchangeable to a 5.9 CR? Whole bridge swaps over?
    How bout a sealing tip for the oil pan to rear main seal housing. What do you find works best?
    Good work buddy. Blueprint and measuring is very therapeutic.

    800hp and no fire ring or 625's? Yikes! You should seal off the room and put an air conditioner in there. It will take the humidity out of the air.

      Fire rings are not needed for a common rail 5.9 street truck. And arp 2000s will hold down a 5.9 head without issue. Crank them down to 135 lbs, do two good re torques and gtg! I even had 2000s holding my .02 over 6.7 head down with 100 over injectors and a 467 for a long while, I just upgraded to 625s to be safe. But they were still doing just fine. I only used them because I had them from when my truck was still 5.9. I don't see the point of fire rings on a street truck, good stock mls gasket and 625s torqued the correct way will hold all the power the street can take.

    Ive got a late 5.9 im planning on dropping a s480 over the stock charger, with some 500% over injectors, you think that I would need to break open the engine or should full stock internals be okay?

    • @horsetorquesdiesel

    • @joshuaquilliam2887
      @joshuaquilliam2887 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      🤣500% free or something? That's a stupid amount of fuel, 100-150% overs will max out that setup and still be able to idle and get good fuel mileage. No real need to go beyond 250% imo for a street truck, and I would only go that high if you are trying to spin lots of rpm.

    • @witcher71
      @witcher71 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Where this guy (customer) is trying to go with this engine. i believe the looser clearances will help the engine survive with the extreme heat. I wouldn't expect an 800hp engine to last as long as something closer to stock. Tighter clearances and less heat will last longer if maintained properly.

    • @horsetorquesdiesel
      @horsetorquesdiesel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It will not last as long, how long it lasts is up to care and maintenance. I see this motor failing with a bent/broke rod or a valve train issue
