    What a beautiful machine. I would still prefer one of these , even if it drank twice as much as a German car. I've had German and they cost double or triple to maintain. They can keep em.

    It would be great to see all cars tested like this. I wish there was a dedicated channel where people test all cars highway fuel economy

    BMW X3 M40i 7.7Lt/100 touring with cruise control on and not in ECO mode … if you fill up at a servo on the highway, it will maintain under 7.5lt/100 for quite some time. It’s incredible that they can achieve that with something that’s capable of 285kw and 500Nw and a car and driver 0-60 miles per hour of 4.1 seconds - that B58 engine is incredible.
    The wife has one and we do a lot of touring in it and it’s been great for cruising, especially when you hit some twisty stuff, it’s very enjoyable. The driver ADAS is not too intrusive, but there’s a quick switch to switch it all off, but gee it’s expensive … looks like you get great value in the G70

      For touring, Better off with the torque monster super efficient 3.0D, I don't see a point in the m40i.

      I'd love an X3 M40i but it's too stiff for me even in comfort. I test drive one a few weeks ago back to back with a M440i sedan and I said to the sales rep that the X3 felt to me about 25 percent stiffer than the sedan.. The sedan in comfort was beautiful..

      @@malsmith2012 the Tyres they come with are terrible, plus it could have had too high tyre pressures during your test drive. Unfortunately there are only 2 manufacturers that make run-flats in this typical German unusual size. We put on Pirelli P Zeros and the difference was incredible.

      @@garageblitztv3215 Yes you're right mate I've heard that in many reviews both written and videos. I'm 50 and super sensitive to vibrations and harsh suspension due to sever chronic spine issues since I was a child { many operations etc ) so supple suspension is a must for me. Both the M440i and the X3 40i have run flats as I understand it so it was an apples to apples test in regards to where they both sit in the "range" I drove the same roads here in southern Sydney that I'm super familiar with and that I know are horrible in firmly damped cars so it was a great back to back test. The M440i was lovely so I'd say with non RF tyres it'd be even better.
      Last weekend I went and drove a CUPRA Formentor VZx and boy oh boy that thing with the new VW 16 stage( or whatever it is ) damper adjustment where you can go beyond comfort was AWESOME for me and at 6 feet 6 inches tall the seats were fantastic which was another massive surprise. I want a car early next year to enjoy on the weekends and I did want a M340i but if I'm more comfy in the 2025 VZx Formentor I'll go with that.. Cheers

      @@madrx2 I in reality we are both wrong for touring ..: neither have a spare tyre and it’s a bit of a risk touring in a European car.
      Having said that, I would not be surprised that we are in the minority actually using these vehicles for more than around town. I carry a 4x4 quality compressor and tyre repair kit and the only state this car hasn’t been is WA.
      As for torque, well the mild Hybrid B58 according to independent testing is producing its maximum torque from as low as 1,480 RPM … the 3.0lt Diesel is 2,000rpm and above.
      At 110KPH it’s sitting at 1,750 RPM so right in the sweet spot of 500Nw and 500Nw is enough for a kerb weight of 1,715 kgs … to dumb it down, Nw is the max a powerlifter can bench press - KW is how fast the powerlifter can do it.
      So, IMHO for us it’s been such a fun “touring” vehicle because we like to take the twisty country roads and enjoy … nothing stupid as we have family in the car, just concentrating and enjoying lining up corners correctly etc and when you are in the zone, you are a much safer driver.

    Nice vehicle that, and definitely underrated. My experience of Hyundai/Kia products is that they don't give their best economy until they've got a good 10000km on the clock. It had less than 1000 when you left so I reckon it would probably do better once it's loosened up a little.
    Great way to get where you're going tho!

    I would say that's not actually particularly good. Ten years ago when we had a NA ML350 Mercedes we would regularly get in the low to mid 7s for that trip. The diesel we replaced it with would knock 2 off that figure easily and more in winter without AC on

    The intrusive safety tech and the big pay increase makes the GV70 less appealing compared to it's rivals. Currently for the same price you can get a BMW X3 30e PHEV, sure not the top trim but competitive and benefits of a PHEV. Still would consider the GV70, but feel the pre face lift was a lot more attractive.

    Beautiful car but I feel the engine doesn't match the quality of the car itself. Imagine this with the B58 or even the 210kw 650nm B57 diesel it'd be epic, frugal and fast.
    I don't think it's enough for Genesis to claim exclusivity " and imply you're getting something special with this 3.5TT all because it's not used in Hyundai vehicles when in reality your getting bugger all extra KW/NMs no acoustic qualities etc. There's nothing special about it..
    I really like Genesis and love luxury not wanting firm suspension AT ALL but I do love cars and love a bit of power with a nice sound ( I drive a WN CAPRICE and will get an suv next) and would absolutely consider getting one of these or a GV80 but the engines just have nothing going for them and you get the higher fuel use to boot.. The BMW diesel sounds muscular and goes great in the X5 and the B58 speaks for itself. If Genesis can put quality engines in these they'd be bloody awesome.

  • @russell3436
    @russell3436 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    This only gains 5-7kW and 20Nm over the 3.3TT, it must be severly detuned from factory, also the performance is hindered by its 2 ton weight, most N/N Line cars can out perform this in most categories. I mean I may be comparing apples to oranges but if a mid 2015-2018 A45 AMG can pump out 280kW from its 2.0L 4cyl turbo I expected alot more from a 3.5L TT V6.
    But in saying that this car isn’t about full on performance and it’s priced fairly well at around the 60k mark for a used one and 80k mark for a new one, slap a European badge on this and you’ll be paying triple the amount.

    • @user-vk4vd7vr5t
      @user-vk4vd7vr5t หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Maybe compare oranges to oranges then. Mazda’s new 3.3 straight 6 only makes 254kw with hybrid assistance.
      You also need to remember that the GV70’s engine is shared across the Genesis line up so it’s specifically detuned to not outperform the larger GV80. The engine in the GV80 with mild hybrid produces 305kW and 550Nm. When you compare this to the B58 in the BMW X5 xDrive40i, that only has 245kW and 450Nm!!
