White Diamond's power... idk creation?
I mean we have to assume all the gems came from somewhere. What if White is actually the mother of all gems and makes at least the essence to being gems to life?
Since she made them she would know how to corrupt them. Also, since she is white maybe her power could be light manipulation.
I mean we see light everywhere in Steven universe, as a form of transportation, when Gems reform, the bodies of a gem themselves.Besides, when Centi described corruption to Steven it was a bright light... that light had to come from someone right? Just a thought

Yeah, I was thinking. Since Pearl can make holograms, maybe White Diamond can make perfect copies? Maybe she had the idea of making gems.
What if Yellow can affect gems' physical forms, Blue can affect emotional stuff & White can affect mental stuff.
I think that white dimonds powers are:light shining from her hands and eyes, erasing minds , and can copy her form like Pearl, and any one who "works"? Under white dimond has some sort of power for them to produce light in a there own special kind of way.
Michael King I would probably say that’s how the corruption light(?). The light in one of the flashbacks had the following colors: yellow, white, and blue. The powers you said these three diamonds have may cause corruption. We can see that in the episode when Steven heals Centipedel (I think that how you spell it). Centipedel was a captain of a ship before the corruption light affected multiple gems. They looked different, acted differently, and it affected them with multiple things.

Thinking about it, if she is the progenitor, part of her power set may infact be, power, whatever energy that fuels gems, she may be like a wellspring of it, making her nigh insurmountable in authority. Secondly, mind manipulation doesn't sound out of the realm of things ether, as if there is a sameness, a hive mind to homeworld gems, she would definitely be a core part to that network.
So maybe we take a page from code geass here and she is like the eye powers, she forces commands, warps personal histories, her will is a weapon.

I think white diamond has the ability to cause a chemical change within a gem. As in, warp and distort the gemstones chemical makeup. If you look at a corupted gem's gemstone, you will see that it has discolorations on it. This CANT BE something done to the data in the gem, it has to be a physical change in the gem. if you look at the NFPA diamond, the effects listed in the white diamond you might notice that ALMOST ANY of them could do this to a gem. This would also explain wy Steven/Rose cant heal them. It isn't something as simple as a crack. So I think that the parts of coruption are as follows: YD disrupts the gems physical form, BD disrupts their mentle state and WD transforms the gem itself!
Little side note here, but, I also think WD can transform a gem in a less chaotic, random way. In the episode Bismuth, Bismuth at one point talks about the "Gem Elites". The way she says it makes me think they're talking about specific individuals rather than one or more KINDS of gems. What if WD can sorta "Enhance" a Gem? Make them "Elite"? IDK. This is all a bunch of speculation.
Maybe the cure for corruption is linked to the revival of Pink Diamond.

well so far each diamond seems to play a role in corruption so odds are pink has an effect on it as well, ultimately I think pink diamond or a fusion between her and Steven could reverse the effects of corruption...the only problem with that is Steven would have to find her in whatever state she's in an convince her to help, which would be very difficult to do given the current state of things.

I think that the diamonds hair could be a big clue in their abilities. We already know that yd has lightning powers and her hair is spiky like lightning. Also pretty much everyone agrees bd has some correlation with water and her hair flows down like water. Using this logic we can infer that white diamond has fire powers from her hair that looks like a flame and the fire setting on roses training machine. We can also know that pink diamond had plant powers from her hair looking like a flower and roses plant powers. This is probably wrong but oh well
I believe that padparadscha was pink diamonds sapphire. Now in his later video he explains how pink diamond is off color. Now if you focus on pink diamonds gems that she creates ( rose quarts) from what we know rose quarts cares about all living things, which she could have gotten from pink diamond, her creator. So since pink diamond was such a sincere person she did not believe in shattering an off color gem. Now one of the diamonds was furious about this so they decided to shatter pink diamond and since padparadscha couldn't see the future, but what had already happened, and pink diamond did not want to shatter or abandon padparadscha, she did not see it coming

I honestly believe White can effect Gem Memories, if we go under the conclusion that Yellow or White killed Pink their is still one major problem. Eyeball said she saw it, she saw Rose kill Pink but Zircon already punched a massive hole in that story. The only way a Gem could have claimed to have seen an impossible event is if they THOUGHT they saw it. To cover her tracks she would have altered what they thought they saw, if everyone claims they saw Rose do it then case closed, but the holes come in when even the effected can't put together a good explanation as to why Pink stepped out to face her attacker, and why no one stopped Rose if they claimed to have seen it happen.

Also perhaps Pearl did belong to WD's court, maybe instead her formerly being WD's, she never made it to her because she came out defective. She was probably on her way to being shattered when PD saved her. That's why in The Answer when we see her with Rose looking the way she does, she kinda resembles B&Y Pearls current appearance in the show. Pink was probably going to see WD (or for whatever reason was near her portion of the kindergarten) with Rose and saw that this poor defenseless Pearl was going to be shattered just for coming out "Defective" , she stepped in and WD found out, shattered Pink and blamed it on rose, thus we see why most of the off colors are pinkish/reddish, Pink couldn't let them get shattered because she values all "Gem" life. WD probably allowed it since Blue and Pink were close, YD didn't like it but she probably urged WD to let her keep em in her own section of homeworld doing grunt work if only for the sake of Blue.
+K Tony And so, when Pink meddled in WD Court affairs, WD probably saw her not as a defect, but as an enemy. She saw that Pink would go against her, so she nipped the problem at bud. Rose is but a scapegoat. She's just a gem who probably witnessed her diamond shattered and was blamed for it, her court all either in pieces or in bubbles leaving only her, Pearl and those who managed to escape to earth

Well it makes sense that Pearl's projections and duplications are made of light, because a gems physical form is light and it seems like that's what Pearl is projecting. So maybe White Diamonds powers are light based, and she can project, alter, and manipulate light like the other diamonds control their elements. And if the final part of corruption is permanently changing the physical form of a gem, which is made of light, it seems like White's powers are closer to the "white light" stuff.
Additionally, maybe Pink Diamonds powers, centered around healing, finish the corruption song and actually destroy gems. If Blue harms them mentally, Yellow destabilizes them, and White damages their form, maybe Pink prevents them from healing, permanently disabling or actually killing a gem. And because Pink was shattered when the Diamonds used the song it was only able to corrupt the gems that heard it

William Clay if you reread what broski wrote, you can see that he's saying that the reason Gems are corrupted is because Pink diamond isn't there.

so this isn't really about their powers but what if white diamond is actually the result of the other 3 diamonds fusing?? It'd make sense if you think about the fact that all colors of light joined together make a white light but at the same time I don't think that this is true.. just a theory :)
Arilyn Jade that would be a lot more convincing if diamonds didn't despise fusing of different courts of gems like when they tried to shatter Sapphire and Ruby because they are of different courts assigned to serve.

I believe White Diamond has exactly what is shown in the White label for the NFPA Diamond Insignia (hopefully I wrote that correctly). I only put this power for her contribution to corruption however. It's what creates the appearance of corrupted gems, sort of like what you said. Things like acidity, radiation, corrosiveness, can be linked to corrupted gems and their appearance. For ex. centipeedle had acid spit. Radiation has also been known to cause genetic mutations to animals and some humans, in incidents like the Chernobyl incident, in which they have weird mutilations to their bodies, like in corrupted gems also. That's my theory lol

Personally, I dislike the term villains for the diamonds. Mostly because they're doing what they think is best, as they seem more of a neutral than evil. Willing to destroy for the greater good of their own race. A villain seems more like a comic book classic evil type of individual. An antagonist(s) is simply someone that goes against the protagonist(s).
Just my own thoughts on that matter.

Okay I have a theory that I've been working on since Wanted. AwestruckVox, I agree with the majority of your ideas but I believe something slightly different. Using this system, I believe each diamond is a part of a whole elementally and sort of like parts of Humanity.
Elementally: Humanity:
Yellow diamond: Electricity, as shown in the trial. Yellow diamond: Physical, as how she destabilized green zircon
Blue diamond: Ice and Water, as in her color. Blue diamond: Emotions, as in the trial
Pink Diamond: Fire, as AwestruckVox said. White Diamond: Mentality, as it fits with the others and corruption
White Diamond: Air???Idk just thinking simple. Pink Diamond: Soul?? There isn't much left to claim except it kinda fits with fire
These all fit with the characters' color scheme, and the insignia and ships because white is at the top, which would represent the mind and could be a head and torso ship. For yellow and blue emotions and Physicality are kinda equal and could be represented by arms. For pink though, soul Wouldn't really fit at the bottom and legs?!?! Idk about that

It's not Yellow Diamond giving her orders. The hair was more like an afro style, and the gem cut was a rectangle. Centipeetle's commander was just high up in Yellow's court, most likely.

I think Centipeedle's commander was a Heliodor, a Beryl like Aquamarine, so they would be high up. Centi would be in yellow's court because she's green.

I think Pink can also create plant life, such as the Hollyhock, the flower we see in and around her palanquin. Interestingly, Pearl's tree also has what appears to be Hollyhocks on it. Either that or her shards are the flower's life source.

I did a White Diamond animation based on Christine Ebersole singing and I was just thinking her abilities like you said. Amazing vid 😭💙
I think WD's power is related to Gem Creation. Since she "is the original gem", hers are the powers to give shape and meaning to a gem. The kindergartens drills could be based on her abilities, just like the gem desstabilizer is based on YD.
So with WD beeing able to give shape and meaning to a gem, on the corruption song, she would be responsible to make the corruption possible in the first place. And when the gem body is destroid by YD, and the gem mind destroid by BD, WD give the new form and meaning to the corrupted gem.
Here comes a thought, if the temple fusion(you called it Chalcedony I think) is based on Rose, Garnet, Pearl, and Amethyst fused together, that means that they all fuse at some point for some big purpose since they don't just fuse to look cool. Also who made the temple? Why did they all fuse? Was it during the rebellion?
Jasper recognized the temple as Rose's base, meaning it must have been their HQ during the war. Amethyst was not around during then. The temple fusion is likely Rose, Garnet, Pearl, and someone else (not Amethyst) with her gem on her chest.
Ryu Tama well then, the only gem that has a chest gem that was close to the crystal gems during that time that we know of would be Bismuth, but it's a completely and profoundly different shape/cut than hers...

It's a good theory though unlikely. Ryu Tama is right Amethyst wasn't there and your right about Bismuth but if you think about how the war is talked about you'd think they'd be seen as better off. The crystal gems were seen as out matched beyond Rose's tears but if they had fused it would probably be remembered differently. It was probably something completely different maybe even just someone Rose looked up to like how we have a giant Abe Lincoln.
Is really nice to re-see there theories and just watch them to re-learn more about Steven Universe. Especially since SU is paused for now.

@roundtable this gave me an idea about white diamond. We all know Rebecca sugar loves making anime references. With white diamond, the dragon ball series would explain everything. The hairstyle, the powerful demeanor, she was made to have a 'super saiyan' look, so let's base her powers off on an average super saiyan: energy blasts that can range from moderate to fatal and flight. That's all I know since i've never watched the show...
I was in San Pedro CA and I saw the NFPA symbol and I totally agree with you on the diamond's ability and I hope we see more of this in season 5&6.

I feel that white diamond might have the power of radiation. It makes sense because if blue messes with their mental emotions and then yellow causes them to become unstable the radiation of white could be what causes them to take other forms because they are more vulnerable to it.
White Diamond- Corrosive powers.
Similar to Acid, If she becomes emotional unstable, etc, She will burn/melt or other means through any substance. this would also be key to the corruption song. She wreaks havoc on their forms and (I do agree with the Memory Erasure) makes them forget who they were, and that's why centipedle had a bit of trouble remembering the gem war.

random question and episode 1 of Steven Universe centipeetle is referred to as the mother how is centipeedle able to make smaller duplicates? and do the smaller duplicates have their own free will and can other gems do this sure we see lapis do this by manipulating water but that seems a little different than what centipeetle did in the first episode pease bring this up in a theory.

I think white diamond does something to a gem's perception. She makes them hallucinate and see other beings as a threat which is why corrupt gems are usually hostile

going off the theory that gems assume the same powers as their diamonds, we can make the assumption that pearl was a part of white diamond's quart. there is no other diamond that has displayed holographic powers as our pearl does. pink diamond could have done so before she was shattered, but according to this theory, she had fire powers, and the ability to heal gems. this is just my add on. credit to The Roundtable for making the theory.

I have a theory that Yellow Diamond shattered Pink diamond, i dont have much on this yet, only some things that i have noticed, The fact that YellowD gave up on finding Rose Quartz, even though she has a militaristic aspect about herself and her gems, if she had really cared she could have found Rose in a very short time period after Pink was shattered, Even Blue is still Mourning at this time about pink's shatter, and Yellow keeps trying to have Blue move on, and stop investagating the entire situation, dont you think thats weird?

Look at white diamonds mural, around the center it sorta looks like the symbol for radiation. Possible radioactive abilities it also fits the break down of the NFPA diamond.
I feel she does use light bases powers like powerful beams and blinding blasts.
Not only that but considering her gem placement I feel her using her mind as a weapon would be really cool.

This theory makes so much sense! When sentipitel said she needed help she was pointing at the portrait of the diamonds specifically at blue diamond. So possibly blue diamond can heal gems

Hey Vox, I was doing some research about the Diamonds, when I noticed something very strange. I noticed that, in the murals of the Diamonds, all of the Diamonds(Except for White Diamond) heads are turned left. It's probably a coincidence, but it seemed very...odd. Anyway, keep bringing such amazing content! Thanks!
Maybe her power is time minipulation since she has of light, which correspond to warpads that are able to bend light and move at ridiculous paces. Her hand in corruption could be to corrupt them faster...? Who knows but I definitely think she has time powers because it would be so fitting

All this time we keep asking ourselves who does our pearl belong to..... ANSWER: White Diamond. WHY: It's simple her color, her gem placement (who else has a while gem directly on there forehead?), and her sense of leadership. And if she served PD why would she be afraid to mention it? Pearl has too many ability and characteristics to have served any random gem. And if she did why wouldn't she mention it such as Rhodonite did? She didn't because she served someone higher up someone more powerful, WD. Plus think about this Rebecca Sugar would want the crystal gems to be diverse so putting pearl under WD would make her different. U see Steven, Ruby, Amythest (sorry if I spelled that wrong) under PD, Sapphire and Lapis under BD, and Peridot under YD....so where does pearl fit in. My point exactly @TheRoundtable .

I just realized this, but white diamond's mural showed her with that circle in her hands and I was thinking it was energy beams like you were thinking at first, but that made me wonder if that was symbolizing homeworld. This could have easily been obvious and I'm just late to point it out now, but if it's new info discussion is welcome.

Last week, I was thinking about the theory you mentioned about how each of the Diamonds (Yellow, Blue, and White) could've contributed individual attributes to corruption through their song. You mentioned Yellow being able to alter gems' physical forms, and Blue being able to manipulate gems' mental/emotional states. I was brainstorming, trying to figure out White's part. Then, the thought occurred to me-Pearl is another forehead gem. She can project different images from her gem, including copies of herself. This is actually not unlike how all gems project their physical forms from their gemstones (keep this in mind for later), except that Pearl can project additional holograms. Then, another thought occurred to me-what if White Diamond does the same thing? What if, somehow, her unique ability as a Diamond involves projection, and this somehow ties into corruption?
I eventually came up with this:
Blue Diamond is responsible for sending the emotions of the gems into disarray. Corrupted gems cannot make sense of their feelings, and cannot deal with them in a thoughtful, structured manner. This lack of control makes them fearful, and the only way they know how to cope is to act aggressively; they become like animals.
Yellow Diamond destabilizes the physical form, making it vulnerable to dramatic changes in the gem's psyche. As we've seen from regeneration, gems can choose to make changes to their new forms, to a certain extent. Yellow essentially renders the body unstable, making it prone to changing its form against the gem's will, and outside of regeneration.
White Diamond, perhaps most importantly, destroys the mind of the gem, which is responsible for projecting its form into the world. More specifically, the gem's self-perception, or ego, becomes severely damaged, resulting in an equally-damaged outward projection. Because the gem has lost its sense of self, the door is opened for Blue to manipulate the emotions of the gem, resulting in a loss of control and self-regulation. And, because of Yellow's weakening of the body, White can now project the monstrous condition of the gem's mind into its form, robbing it of its more "human" physical capabilities. The voice box in the physical form and the language center inside the gemstone are both deformed beyond recognition, so the gem can't even speak.
My original idea was that, perhaps, White Diamond controls the gems on Homeworld, basically projecting herself into their minds. In fact, that she did so while immobilized in a secluded location, which would explain why we haven't yet seen her. I thought that, while this was an interesting theory, it was a bit far-fetched. But then, I saw The Roundtable's video on his theory that White Diamond is actually the Homeworld planet itself, and was floored by how similar his and my theories were.
His is that, while White herself is the planet, she is capable of projecting her own physical form so she can communicate with others-just like my hypothesis that White mirrors Pearl in her ability to project holograms of herself! It's slightly different from my idea in that she instead projects her will onto the other gems in order to control them, but I like his theory more. It also lines up with my idea that White for some reason doesn't move, is away from the other gems, and doesn't speak to them directly as a result. To put icing on the cake, I also hypothesized that White is "sleeping", yet somehow conscious-a lot like one might expect a planet to be!
If both his and (most of) my theory are correct, they are strong evidence towards White's role in corruption being damaging the mind of a gem, and as a natural result, distorting its physical projection. I really want to know what you think of this theory, because I'm really excited about it!

Seeing as how Pearl is very elegant and almost ballet based could have references to white diamond being similar, having physical ballet/gymnastics abilities? I don't know but I think it would be really cool if white diamond had ballet ribbons made out of hard light to use as a weapons..
I just remembered that scene where the three diamond fires orbital laser maybe the combined power of that lasers corrupts the gems not being protected by rose
Peridot's metal bending powers could still make sense with her being in Yellow Diamond's court. She could be using an electromagnetic force to metal bend, which as the term "electromagnetic" implies, uses an electrical current to magnetically control metal/magnetic objects.
In a previous vid, you mentioned Padparadscha and you said that she was included in pink diamonds court only cause pink diamond was having mercy and didn't want to hurt her gems, BUT… i feel (reference the episode "the kiss" where Steven gets future vision for a little while and he can't tell what's going to happen because there are multiple futures not just one) that Padparadscha is extremely useful as she can confirm specific events for sure unlike sapphires. Sapphires can give you a general idea and help earn you, but Padparadscha can tell you if it indeed did happen. ( reference the episode when sapphire leaves garnet to sneak into the zoo and she tells fake futures to manipulate the outcome of her current situation.

1. Their visual state is destabilized and they revert back to their gemstone. - accredited to yellow diamond's light.
2. While in their gemstone they become mentally screwed up have uncontrollable emotions. - accredited to blue diamond's light.
3. They come back out of their gemstone, but as their visually distorted or corrupted version. - accredited to white diamond's light.
And of course pink is the cure
I had a similar idea about White Diamond. Not only would it fit well in corruption, but if she can manipulate/destroy memory than that would be a perfect way to cover her tracks when shattering Pink. Eyeball thinks she saw Rose shatter Pink, but that could be because White planted the memory in her.

and also, in white diamond's huge painting/illustration we see white diamond's upper and lower parts seperated- it might be a long stretch... but what if it's kind of a hint or something, being as pink diamond's ship is legs, blue is an arm and so is yellow's: that maybe the creators made the cut between them on purpose. (homeworld is illustrated in the middle, separating pink's ship/part from the others...)
