I am so happy to see Patrick Hernandez. He is just as charming as ever. I have loved this song since its (second, disco) release and I often find myself singing it without realizing it. "Born To Be Alive" is a wonderfully infectious song and I still swivel my hips to it. Beautiful and always affecting, I can never let the deep "Born to be alive" in the chorus pass without singing along to it. Thank you, Patrick Hernandez. You truly ROCK!

It's good to see that Patrick Hernandez is well and living in France. I always wanted to know what happened to him since "Born to be Alive" was released in late 1970's.

I have a very, very slight understanding of French, but I did understand him say that he did not particularly like disco music. This is funny, because I didn't like disco either, but his song was one of my favourites from that era! It's a great song! I love the sweetness of the version with the ukulele. And I very much enjoyed seeing how pretty his community is too. Thanks for posting this! 😊
I just found and bought a copy of the 12 inch single yesterday! I bought the 45 back in the 70s. All time favorite. So happy to see him here! I know very little French and no German but I still understood.
I tried to figure out how to get the English translation for this but couldn't. This tune is like a semi- country disco song that if it doesn't lift you up then you're already deceased! The location where he did the laid back ukulele rendition is rather splendid to view.
Click on CC to turn on the subtitles (Auto Generated French) and then click on the cog and then on the Subtitles and then select auto translate and choose the language... its far from perfect but it helped me somewhat to understand 🤷♂
Another route to translate it is to click on the three dots on the right side under the video and choose "Show transcript." It will pop into the right side box next to the video. Hover over the top line you would like to translate, then right click on that line and choose from the pop-up box "Translate to English." Each line will then translate itself. It is not perfect nor ideomatic, but it does a good job getting most of the French across to English. It's not as hard as it looks at first. Best of luck.

The royalties of the song allow him to do nothing except enjoy the Provence for 43 years already. Hard not to be envious of that.
