I couldn't agree more. Best concert ever for me was Chicago and Huey Lewis and the News. 2006. I wish I could have seen them in the 80s. As good as they were in 2006 and up until his hearing loss it would have been amazing to see them back then. I've seen Huey Lewis and the News almost 10 times. What I wouldn't give to see them again.

Their early work was a little too new wave for my taste. But when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humour.

20 years ago I had to go and live with my mother in South West France because her partner died and we were left with a messy legal situation with his businesses and children from a previous relationship etc. On Thursdays I would take the shitty old Renault work van into the town about 15 miles away to the market and the local radio station had their tracks on a daily looped playlist. Life was difficult and depressing and I felt trapped but sure enough when this banger came on I turned it all the way up and was singing it like I was performing in front of a stadium crowd as I drove on the isolated country roads miles from anywhere. Made me feel amazing for 5 minutes. That's the power...

Just discovered that the teacher judging the Marty McFly and band version of The Power Of Love in the Battle Of The Bands scene was none other than Huey Lewis! Check it out! It’s true! I’m sure a lot of you knew that already, but I didn’t! What a great song! Still awesome after all these years! And what a fantastic movie! 👌 .. 😀 P.S. ❤️ these short videos on songs, and their background. I’ve watched a whole lot of them, and look forward to seeing more! And thank you so much Huey for saying yes to this! 😃 .. ✌️
