The most interesting character moment in these two episodes came from Crosshair, who was not even in them. The fact Rampart genuinely thought Clone Force 99 was dead means that Crosshair did not rat them out to the Empire after Kamino.
@@Sambysaurus I like to think he knows they’re alive, and is just in denial, I mean he wouldn’t be the first imperial to think someone died only to later be wrong
I'm sure I'm not the only one with this piece of praise, but I'm really glad that the first two episodes separate the batch and puts Omega with the two characters she hasn't had a chance to interact with. It was a nice change of pace.

Moment of silence for Captain Wilco, in some other circumstances, he might have get his true personality back, a glimpse of it we got to see when he refused to falsify the report. Rest in peace, trooper.
For an adversarial “reg” it should be emphasized how remarkably competent he was. He was consistently able to keep pressure on the Batch, predicting some of their moves like with the freighter’s escape pods, actually getting the drop on them like when he spotted Hunter and Wrecker, and generally having troops close by in the right place and time. Despite the fact he lost the Batch, it never felt like explicit incompetence on his part unlike what we’re used to seeing with the Imperials down the line.
@@SirCannonball And in the end his efforts did result in the Batch not obtaining their objective, sure he didn't catch them but neither did they accomplish their mission. It was a waste on Rampart's part to off him.
I thought it was interesting that the clone captains name was Wilco - Wilco is military shorthand for 'Will Comply' and is usually a response to orders. Not sure if there is anything to that though!
I love this continuing trend of revisiting places we remember now in ruins. Like the Second Death Star in The Rise of Skywalker, or Kamino's abandoned halls in season 1, there's a real sadness you feel seeing this place where people, even though they were enemies, died without any chance. What a great premeire!
The Death Star ruins were cool, but it confused the hell out of me how the throne room was so in tact with the power even still running despite the reactor exploding and most of the station being vaporized. Like, the throne room literally had a reactor shaft in it, too. The blast came up *through that shaft* so that entire room should not exist.
Perhaps the reason why Captain Wilco refused to lie about the Bad Batch in his report is because he saw his men die at their hands. We see Wilco remove his helmet to grieve his fallen men. Leaving the details out of the report would be a disservice to his unit. Star Wars yet again makes these small side clones the most interesting characters. Excited to see what is to come!
Love the Indiana Jones moment between Echo and Omega near the end. With him telling her to “let it go” just like Henry sr with Indy in The Last Crusade
Alex! I TOTALLY got "Raiders vibes" in the beginning, when Omega and Tech were fishing on the Havock Marauder, and Hunter and Wrecker were running from the "Crab Aliens"! All I could hear was, "JOCK!!! START THE ENGINE!!! GET IT UP!!!". 🤠🤣🤣🤣

I like how episode two shows that Wrecker isn't a just hulking powerhouse, but that he knows how to use his environment to his advantage and build something. This may not be the first time they showed this (I haven't rewatched CW S7 or BB S1 in awhile) but I just love how it brings more character to him.
Season one also showed this, he’s the teams powerhouse, but he’s also their weapons expert, Tech’s smart in general, but scenes like this do show that Wrecker has his own personal types of intelligence, similar to Mando, dude has no clue what’s going on socially but knows weapons very well
@juliusstricto987 that's just it though, using a piece of scrap as a shield is something any clone could (albeit not a large piece like that) but as Blase said, he has enough technical knowledge to build a cannon but not decipher code, and I like that they point those character traits out in moments like eps 2.
Loved all the stuff with Tech and Echo. So happy to see the show start to focus on them, their views on things, their understandings of everything, how they react to new information, etc. Tech really got to see a new perspective on things from what Romar (the old man) told him and showed him about what Serenno was like before the war.
That ending with Rampart tells me that Crosshair definitely lied about the Batch being dead in season one which is setting him up for a very interesting arc if that's actually the case. If true, now Rampart knows that Crosshair lied which would put him in a lot more danger
I think if he were to tell the truth then he'd still want to lie about how he knows they're alive. I don't think Rampart would be happy about the temporary truce to escape Kamino and then let them leave without a fight. He'd have to lie either way to save his own skin.
Rampart is such a slimy bastard, and he feels even more threatening now that he’s desperate to cover his mistakes. If anything is going to get Crosshair to turn on the Empire it’s gonna be him…

It's pretty clear that this series is leading to a version of the Clone Rebellion from Legends, but a fun detail I only recently noticed is that the Bad Batch's designation Clone Force "99" is a reversal of Order "66."
What I thought was great about Wilco. Is that the show showed him as a very competent clone captain. If it had been anyone else besides the Bad Batch he probably would have captured them. I didn't read the scene with him refusing to falsify the report as the chip wearing off (although it could have been).. just that he was doing his job and he was doing it well. And what got him killed was a superior officer just trying to protect himself. Which is why the Empire was so weak in the end. So many people looking out for themselves instead of each other. Overall really great premiere. The action was non stop and actually quite intense. Strong character beats for Tech and Echo and Omega. Hunter and Wrecker had fun moments aswell. the animation was beautiful as always.
I love what they're doing with the secondary clones, like Howser and now Wilko. During order 66 the clones were forced to put on the helmet and lose their identity, and now they are beginning to regain that by showing their faces and restoring their humanity despite the Empire's efforts to control them.
Good to see Echo & Tech are getting a spotlight they deserve to shine, while season 1 was too focused on Hunter, Crosshair, Wrecker & Omega to the point where both Echo & Tech were sidelined as side characters. It's also great that the Bad Batch season 2 is becoming more relatable to Andor when it comes to fighting the Empire's expanding totalitarian tyranny, as well as in continuation of season 1 main theme about how the clones coping with paradigm shifts as the Republic transformed into the Empire. Overall a good start for season 2 Also, RIP Wilco. He didn't deserve to get shot for not contemplating to do corrupt jobs like falsifying reports or accept bribes to help lying for a corrupt officer, which the clones weren't trained to do. But that's a turning point of clones being seen as a liabilities to the Imperial military even more
I’m amazed that you pointed out the Indiana Jones parallel in the episode. I was thinking the same thing since I watched that scene several times where Indiana almost took the holy grail, while his father advised him to let it go. Your analysis of the episodes is spot on and I cannot think of a better Star Wars TH-camr than you. I’m glad to have subscribed to your channel years ago. Looking forward to more of your upcoming vids 😃
I gotta say, I really like what they are doing with, and implying regarding, the inhibitor chips now. The chips got a lot of flak at first because everyone wanted the clones to be neutral or dark grey in alignment so to speak, executing the order willingly because they were obedient drones. The Clone Wars gave them personality and attachment to the Jedi, who were the only non-clones they really spent time with during the war, and suddenly an outside force became necessary to force them to execute the Jedi in RoTS. Now we are getting more of that neutral grey, even dark grey, alignment vibes as the clones' chips are revealed to not be permanent changes, and are fairly rapidly wearing off. So now we get to see how they interface with the Empire now that they have already been forced to do what they did, and have no real choice. They can't undo Order 66, they can't really go anywhere, they have to become the darker clones we had in pre-TCW Legends but now with more struggle and better chance at redemption. I love it.

Rampart's behaviour is the big reason why the Empire, and Sith philosophy in general, fails. Not being allowed to show any weakness or heck, being proven wrong, and then covering it up, up to murder of good soldiers just weakens the collective. Now only Rampart knows of the Batch's survival and that never ends well for the bad guys. Evil people keep shooting themselves in the foot for short term gains over later victory, it's just dumb.
I agree with everything in the video, but there is something missing. In Bad Batch the "enemy" clones have always been competent, unlike how comical battledroids were portrayed on Clone Wars, but in this 2 episodes I felt tension on every single moment. The Clones were extremely professional and cautious. This felt really serious all the way through and I love it. The episode might have had snippets of progress with the characters, which may lead some people to qualify it as filler, but even if it were filler (which it's not), it was completely entertaining. As a side note, I'm always amazed at the parallels and conections Alex makes from differents elmements of star wars media. I tend to turn my brain off and enjoy the ride, to let the author show me what he/her wants to show instead of constantly trying to think a step ahead of them and call something "predictable", but this mindset sometimes makes me miss a lot of those subtle details. Keep it up, Alex!
Something I immediately noticed when Tech, Echo, and Omega entered the container were the stone pillars. I can’t help but wonder if the pillars were of Sith origin and Palpatine wanted to make sure they weren’t destroyed or fell into the wrong hands.
It's still hard for me to get a read on Echo's personality, but my favorite parts of the show were Wrecker being smart and Tech being tough as nails. It's a cool inversion that adds depth to both characters.
Yeah pretty much same as you - these episodes didn't blow my mind but it was a nice refresher to reconnect with these characters. Also I thought it was pretty funny how the Batch were all stunning the regs throughout the episode until Wrecker got his canon and just started openly murdering them and cheering 🤣
The animation looks better and better, it doesn't cease to impress me, from early days of The Clones Wars to Rebels and the master piece that was last 4 episodes of CW, it just keeping improving. Wow.
This was a great start. Yes it is much more light hearted than Andor but it still has so much depth and impactful moments. Can't wait to see more of the Clones turning from the inhibitor chips and our boys leading the charge.

These first two episodes were really good. I'm actually just about to rewatch them, just hadn't had a chance yet after watching them at 3 this morning. It's just feels so good to finally have Season 2, and it kicked off with some great episodes. And I love more of this backstory to Dooku. He's a wealthy man, but then he stole from everyone, even his own people. So good to see his fall from grace in Tales of the Jedi and then see just how deep the corruption went and what forms it took when even in the Clone Wars, we didn't get to explore his character much. He typically bossed Ventress and Grievous around he never really got too heavily involved in the action. I thought for sure Omega had stumbled upon lightsabers though when she opened that crate. We know that Dooku had a stash of them from Dark Disciple. It would have been neat to see, and it would probably have been even more powerful to see everyone's reactions to that than simply a bunch of credits and jewels, and they could offer debate about what to do with them since they're more valuable than just money and could be beneficial weapons for the Bad Batch, ans why Omega would want them even more in the middle of peril at the risk of her own life. I was also a little concerned that Tech was going to die. A bit silly, we've seen other shots in trailers with him in later episodes, but, they did a great job at raising the stakes because he could have easily just been crushed by a crate and put out of commission for the rest of the episode. For breaking his femur, I think he moves around a little too much, but maybe they had a few patches of bacta or something we never saw, maybe he injected himself with some adrenaline to take his mind off the pain, it's not important, but I liked seeing him completely worn out trying to assist Echo and Omega at the very end. He very well still could have died. Good episodes, time to rewatch them!
I got worried about Tech, too. That was probably the most harrowing situation we've seen him in. I also like that he seems more supportive of Omega now. It'd be interesting to see a moment for them to touch on the war in more detail, as a contrast to Tech's very lexical description back in Reunion.

Absolutely love more Echo. I hope they more deeply connect him to his 501st roots. To me he felt quite disconnected from his early CW seasons counterpart. Wanted him and Rex to have a bigger moment in S1.

Definitely a great start to the season. Loved seeing Serenno again and the mission was genuinely fun. Also liked that they split up the batch into groups that haven't interacted much. Glad to see Omega level up with her combat skills so she isn't always a damsel in distress type like season 1. Also curious to see how the Empire deals with the reemergence of the batch
I do think it was a very good start to the season, but, I did have a grimace moment when Tech said he broke his femur. Having actually broken my femur when I was 6 years old, and having treated enough patients who have done the same while I was a paramedic, I can honestly say with some authority that you can't walk with a broken femur. Nope. Can't do it. The pain in and of itself is unbearable. My suspension of disbelief took a bit of a hit with that one. but okay.
@@breaden4381 Like I said, suspension of disbelief took a hit, and pushed to the limit I might add. But, never mind. You're right, they're clones. Maybe their pain threshold is incredibly high......maybe.
Might just be so small that it ends up being one of the many rebellion cell. Not a full fledged rebellion but enough to have a few (very elite) strike teams.
"To be mindful of the future but not to the expense of the present" Is something I really needed to hear atm. Ahh StarWars back at it again teaching life lessons lol
When I saw we were going To Dooku's castle, I had a dreaded feeling that was where the gang would find Gungi. Left in a Cell in the Bowels of the castle. Glad it didn't happen. So much forward to see Gungi again.
These episodes were a great start to the season. It feels good to be back to Star Wars again. I'm really liking what they're doing with the characters and what they seem to be setting up for future episodes. Firstly I love the updates to the character designs and I'm glad they started off by giving some focus towards Echo, who is my favourite but I do agree, we knew him from TCW so it made sense to focus more on the new characters in S1, and Tech. I was especially impressed with Tech's characterization in this actually. I feel like he's the hardest character to write for because he's so analytical and doesn't really do emotion, which is why I feel like he didn't get much focus in S1 but this was a great start. That moment he shares with Romar is honestly the most emotional he's displayed the whole time we've known his character and I'm hopeful we'll start to see some actual development for him. One of my favourite things in these episodes was the subplot with Echo and Omega. Everyone always says Hunter is like Omega's father figure in this show but let's be honest here, it's Echo. He behaves more like a dad towards her than anyone else. Wrecker is the fun big brother, Tech is the bookworm relative that makes you study with your best interests at heart. Hunter is more like that stuck up brother who won't let you do anything. I'm kinda fed up with his character TBH because of all the back and forth in S1 but I'm hopeful that will change. I do feel that was harsh on Echo though because nothing he said was wrong, Omega just overheard and misunderstood, naturally. I love the way they handled Echo's opinion though. Although Omega misunderstands what he said, it's clear to us that he does not regret saving her from Kamino at all, he doesn't resent her or hold it against her. He just recognizes that their lives wouldn't have been "normal" either way and it's good that he gets to say as much to her at the end of episode 2. I hope they keep a big focus on that relationship going forward. It was also great to see Serreno again. I must say though that, despite Serreno being a leading world for the Separatists and everything that means, it was so sad seeing it in that state, just bombarded like it's nothing. I was so surprised how emotional I felt about that. It's a good reminder that, although we don't have the same emotional connection to Serreno the way we had with Kamino, it's all the same to the Empire. It doesn't matter to them. Honestly, my only nitpick with these episodes is that I would have liked to spend a bit more time exploring the ruins of Dooku's Castle and the planet, getting a deeper dive into his stores of treasure would also have been nice because maybe he had something interesting stashed away but there wasn't time for it here, which is fine. I just hope that another story might give us a look at it at some point. I'm also glad that at the end we got to see Rampart and what he's up to. I thought he was a great character in the first season, he just didn't get to do much because the main antagonist was Crosshair but I like that he's a manipulative, cold, military kind of foe, similar to Tarkin in a lot of ways and I'm glad he's getting stretch his legs as a villain right off the bat this season. I saw what he did coming and I'm interested to see what he does going forward The episodes were a blast. A lot of fun and really well paced too. The ending of episode 1 really creeped up on me, it ended and I screamed WHAT cause I was so invested. I wanted to get to part 2 so quickly and that's exactly how I wanted it.
Hard to live up to the first episode of season 1 which is one of the best episode of star wars animation but this was really fun. I love this show. And the ending of episode 2 was quite brutal. My biggest issue is that there was no crosshair but I'm sure there's a reason for that, based on what rampart says at the end. But yeah I'm super happy that this show is back. And tech/echo getting to do things is very nice. And will tech learn to emote this season? The little moment with Romar when they're about to escape. Idk why but tech asking if he'll be okay was a nice moment.

Finally caught up with the show last night and it was awesome! Loved all the little details in Romar's hideout. Loved seeing more of Tech having some personality and Echo getting to shine like he did in Clone Wars. I think part of Echo's drive to fight the Empire is that he knows so well how the Republic army was run. The Bad Batch always did things differently, but Echo knows the rules and Echo knows the Empire will be terrifying. And the show looks so good. I remember watching the Lemurian episode when it first aired and thinking that it was a good concept but the animation was clunky and the world kind of uninteresting. This episode was gorgeous. The moss on the trees and the purple green leaves, just so detailed in every place.
I really like seeing the difference between Hunter and Echo's views on navigating this new galaxy. Hunter wants to end the mission, he wants to find safety and protect Omega. Echo wants to expand, take the fight to the Empire and make the whole galaxy safe. As team leader, Hunter is always thinking of the crew and how to best complete any mission with his team intact. He's always working to an end. Echo has suffered at the hands of evil and he doesn't want any one else to suffer under the evil spreading over the galaxy. Echo doesn't see retirement and safety as an option, at least not for him. He will fight against evil until he dies. Neither of them is wrong and I'm curious to see if Tech and Wrecker are forced to take sides soon

I loved it. Omega is such a favorite of mine (I wish I could adopt her!). I am not sure if I imagined this or not, but it seems that the animation has gotten even better. I really liked the pirate in the early scenes of the first episode and my husband was impressed that I figured out that it was Wanda Sykes playing her, just from the voice. I hope she becomes a regular or at least, a semi-regular. My only (tiny) quibble with episode 2 was Tech's injury. He BROKE his FEMUR. The WEIGHT BEARING bone!! I wish one of the "A Doctor Reacts" people (like Doctor Mike) would watch this episode, as there is NO WAY Tech could even hobble with a broken femur. At all. They would have had to drag him on a stretcher. The writers would have been smarter to make it a tibia (shin) injury.... or an ankle. He MIGHT have been able to hobble, with those. I get that they needed him to come through adversity to help his comrades, but the medical geek in me could not stop laughing and shaking my head "NO!" at those scenes. Other than that? LOVED both eps. This series, along with Andor, I love the most. SO happy to see my Hunter again! Very nice review! Thank you.

I really enjoyed the opener! It was great to see more echo and I hope it continues! The ending was something else though just seeing how the empire thought clone force 99 was gone. Meaning crosshair didn't turn them in? The final scene where the commander was killed was just sad left me feeling for the clones again.
I think Captain Wilco’s name may be a reference to the album Star Wars by Wilco. Originally they were planning to name the album Cease and Desist, but Lucas-film never took action and it stayed Star Wars. Also interesting narratively because Wilco is short for Will Comply.

To me, Bad Batch is a fun show, with an assortment of really cool references and happenings, and these episodes were not any different. I thoroughly enjoyed them. :)
I find Wilco's name ironic, considering what he ended up doing, or not doing, at the end. "Wilco" is an abbreviation of "will comply," but he does not comply. I liked that little irony.
I really enjoyed the return of the Batch on TV, and TBH the Bad Batch is probably my favorite, post Disney acquisition creation in the Star Wars universe. There's something comforting about hanging out with this Space A Team, even during a grim period post Revenge of the Sith, they are always fun to watch
The reference to Wrecker being a tank is also a cool reference to the mobile game Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes. Bad Batch are a lot of fun in that game!
I like the turn of Rampart's motive this season being protecting his reputation after realizing he failed to kill the Bad Batch, even killing loyal imperials in order to keep his failure from becoming public. Looks like the guy is due for a meltdown. Hopefully they lean into it, showing him forced to get outright treasonous as he attempts to protect his career and wipe out the Batch at all costs. And it makes him feel a mite different from all the standard imperial officer villains we've gotten in these stories - in the first season, my main criticism of him was that he just came off as a discount Tarkin, so any different direction is great.

Did anyone notice Hammer Head sporting the 1978 kenner toy design, in sids bar? (I'd love to see a star wars animated series feat. Classic Kenner action figures!)
Cut and Suu seemed to do okay looking for a quiet life. On the other hand, I think Hunter may have taken a little too much from that instance, granted it was at a point when he had no knowledge of parenting. I think it works to have AZ in the parlor, since I'm not sure what role he could fill with the Batch. Nice breakdown of what Echo and Omega were going through here; I didn't pick up on all of it while watching. I did notice what sounded like a hint of the Force theme in Omega's moment of letting go. I also really like the message about things that bring us joy. It's fitting to come from this series because this is more like the 'flavor' of Star Wars that appeals to me.
*I enjoyed these two episodes pretty well. Echo & Tech I enjoyed their characters a lot as well. And I had a feeling that someone would get hurt during this mission. It just seemed like they kept hinting at it. I'm looking forward to episode 3 next Wednesday. And R.I.P Captain Wilco........at least for now???* 🤔
Speaking of being "dropped in the middle of a story" Disney Plus slightly glitched on Bad Batch as I was trying to watch it, and it started Ep2 "Ruins of War" before I'd seen Ep1 "Spoils of War". I was briefly confused, but I knew Star Wars could drop me in the middle of an action sequence with no explanation, so I went along with it. It wasn't until Omega referenced something from Ep 1 that I finally caught on to the glitch, but the episode was practically over by then.
Shows how much dooku feel to the darkside. Being corrupt like his father and stealing from his own people to find a fake war so opposite of his days as a jedi in ep 2 of tales of the jedi
One thing you didn't discuss is the shift in how Tech fought the regs as the episode came to a close. He was noticeably desperate and eventually stopped using stun mode altogether. Star Wars animation has always played loose with the "invisible" bodycount from vehicle crashes and explosions, but this time the camera clearly lingered on the pilots and soldiers before they were hit. I'm undecided yet whether this was for immediate dramatic impact or whether it's foreshadowing a shift in Tech's character. He always struck me as less morally driven than the others, maybe the show is going to explore that.
I'm really glad I wasn't the only one who immediately saw Indiana Jones and the Holy Grail while Omega was reaching for the war chest loot. Awesome episodes all around.
wrecker did not pickup a part of the AATs cannon, im pretty sure its one of the 6 rocket launchers one the bottom of the tank powered by the powerpack he ripped from the tank
Isn’t the clone at the end technically still following orders by not fabricating the report? Fabricating a report would be against regulations, and something a “bad Solider” who wasn’t willing to deviate from standard procedure would do. I saw this as the clone continuing to be super observant of the rules & regulations.
I'd sort of thought that Wilco subtle change in demaner when the admiral asked him to change his report was possibly the chip kicking in and making him follow protocol to a T. A paperwork version of "Good soldiers follow orders". Maybe that's just me?
I love echo development, he’s one of my favourite clones and I think we really need to see more of him. That being said if they could actually give him a real hand with a scomp addition then they probably would have a better time with some stuff
When Wilco says that he won't follow that order, I think it's the opposite. Since technically the bad batch are rogue clones, and any rogue clones in violation of order 66 have to be dealt with and executed. Wilco omitting the info about the Bad Batch from the report would have been a violation of order 66 itself , that's why I think Wilco refused Rampart's order. Him saying "I know, I'll do it" and then killing Wilco means Rampart anticipated that response, knowing clones won't follow an anti-order 66 order .
They need to add another clone trooper to the bad batch. Wilco was a goner the minute he said no. A little bit of a waste that they didn’t get some of the war chest. At least wrecker got a new toy. Thanks for the video.
You can't hide from the Empire? Tell that to Yoda! Heck, even Obi-wan was never actually found, just drawn out a couple times when absolutely necessary.
So should we talk about that the 99s now killing clones with full responsibility. They don't get killed in the process but with intention. I think the scene with Captain Wico and the shooting down of the Gunship and hand fight with Tec where we see only regular blaster shots was a indication for that.
So, Captain Wilco ... -- the band Wilco has an album titled "Star Wars." Could this be a hollaback? -- in old-school CB radio lingo, "WilCo" means "will comply." As in, "roger, wilco, over and out ...."
The most interesting character moment in these two episodes came from Crosshair, who was not even in them. The fact Rampart genuinely thought Clone Force 99 was dead means that Crosshair did not rat them out to the Empire after Kamino.

That definitely sounds intentional.
It's kinda a reverse of Jedi master I'ma gun die(or however you spell it)
They love adding the little hints and subtle suggestions, for those in the know, and eventually it becomes clear. I love how they do that.
I love this continuing trend of revisiting places we remember now in ruins. Like the Second Death Star in The Rise of Skywalker, or Kamino's abandoned halls in season 1, there's a real sadness you feel seeing this place where people, even though they were enemies, died without any chance.
What a great premeire!
great point, never thought of it in that way
The Death Star ruins were cool, but it confused the hell out of me how the throne room was so in tact with the power even still running despite the reactor exploding and most of the station being vaporized.
One of the best things about these episodes is that Cid has finally given Echo his nickname, Killjoy
My friends and I laughed so hard at that!😂
She's given him the nickname already in season one. I rewatched it recently.
Love the Indiana Jones moment between Echo and Omega near the end. With him telling her to “let it go” just like Henry sr with Indy in The Last Crusade
Captain Wilco was an interesting character for being designed to be as uninteresting as possible.
I like how you described this as “a different flavor” we can like Bad Batch and Andor.
I really love that Echo and Tech got to do more in this episode :)
I love seeing ruins of places. Loved it in the ST, especially with the second death star and now with Dooku's house.
They still couldn’t find information memories they have to look at hologram of palpatine sidous I bet the empire will use dooku money to do fundraising to complete the Death Star
I like how episode two shows that Wrecker isn't a just hulking powerhouse, but that he knows how to use his environment to his advantage and build something.
This may not be the first time they showed this (I haven't rewatched CW S7 or BB S1 in awhile) but I just love how it brings more character to him.
Season one also showed this, he’s the teams powerhouse, but he’s also their weapons expert, Tech’s smart in general, but scenes like this do show that Wrecker has his own personal types of intelligence, similar to Mando, dude has no clue what’s going on socially but knows weapons very well
I believe he uses a gunship door as an improvised shield during the first episode of CW season 7.
@juliusstricto987 that's just it though, using a piece of scrap as a shield is something any clone could (albeit not a large piece like that) but as Blase said, he has enough technical knowledge to build a cannon but not decipher code, and I like that they point those character traits out in moments like eps 2.
@@EditedAF987 yeah, and he also was shown in the beginning of Bad Batch 8 to be showing Omega how to disarm a bomb that he had completely dismantled
Crosshair could say say that he escaped by himself, and assumed they died.
True!
@@PerovNigma this is what I was thinking
I think if he were to tell the truth then he'd still want to lie about how he knows they're alive. I don't think Rampart would be happy about the temporary truce to escape Kamino and then let them leave without a fight. He'd have to lie either way to save his own skin.
Rampart is such a slimy bastard, and he feels even more threatening now that he’s desperate to cover his mistakes. If anything is going to get Crosshair to turn on the Empire it’s gonna be him…
They still couldn’t find information memories they have to look at hologram of palpatine sidous I bet the empire will use dooku money to do fundraising to complete the Death Star
Overall a good start for season 2
Also, RIP Wilco. He didn't deserve to get shot for not contemplating to do corrupt jobs like falsifying reports or accept bribes to help lying for a corrupt officer, which the clones weren't trained to do. But that's a turning point of clones being seen as a liabilities to the Imperial military even more
They still couldn’t find information memories they have to look at hologram of palpatine sidous
I do like how more stuff like ships from rebels are appearing again, It nice to see them in the Clone Wars Art style.
I love it.
They still couldn’t find information memories they have to look at hologram of palpatine sidous I bet the empire will use dooku money to do fundraising to complete the Death Star
Especially since the Bad Batch are still out there, and Rampart won't be able to cover up their survival forever.
That Echo scene with whatsisname where he says, "We existed before the war" was especially poignant because Echo and the clones literally did not.
I was so worried for Tech throughout these episodes xD but he came through like a badass.
Wow.
Just finished rewatching clone wars season 1. It’s amazing how far it’s come. Just crazy different.
This was a great start. Yes it is much more light hearted than Andor but it still has so much depth and impactful moments. Can't wait to see more of the Clones turning from the inhibitor chips and our boys leading the charge.
They still couldn’t find information memories they have to look at hologram of palpatine sidous I bet the empire will use dooku money to do fundraising to complete the Death Star

If Rex gives him his handprint back this season I’ll be so happy
They still couldn’t find information memories they have to look at hologram of palpatine sidous I bet the empire will use dooku money to do fundraising to complete the Death Star
My suspension of disbelief took a bit of a hit with that one. but okay.
These are genetically enhanced clones literally bread to fight though.
I guess clones are just built different.
He also hops up the ship’s ramp normally at the very end
@@breaden4381 Like I said, suspension of disbelief took a hit, and pushed to the limit I might add. But, never mind. You're right, they're clones. Maybe their pain threshold is incredibly high......maybe.
@@gasaholic47 i mean, they are genetically modified to grow faster, who knows what modifications the bad batch have
This made me care so much more about all the characters, this is going to make a huge difference regarding the rest of the season
Captain Wilco is my new favorite Clone boi. I was so sad to see him get killed by Rampart.
Ok now I’m definitely hoping we definitely get a clone rebellion
Doubt it
It will happen but it's going to end a tragic note.....there's a reason why Rex gave up eventually and retired on Seelos in Rebels
It would be a small one
Might just be so small that it ends up being one of the many rebellion cell. Not a full fledged rebellion but enough to have a few (very elite) strike teams.
"To be mindful of the future but not to the expense of the present"
Is something I really needed to hear atm.
I saw what he did coming and I'm interested to see what he does going forward
The episodes were a blast. A lot of fun and really well paced too. The ending of episode 1 really creeped up on me, it ended and I screamed WHAT cause I was so invested. I wanted to get to part 2 so quickly and that's exactly how I wanted it.
It hit pretty hard when Tech almost got Nemik’ed in Episode 2
Hard to live up to the first episode of season 1 which is one of the best episode of star wars animation but this was really fun. I love this show. And the ending of episode 2 was quite brutal. My biggest issue is that there was no crosshair but I'm sure there's a reason for that, based on what rampart says at the end. But yeah I'm super happy that this show is back. And tech/echo getting to do things is very nice. And will tech learn to emote this season? The little moment with Romar when they're about to escape. Idk why but tech asking if he'll be okay was a nice moment.
They still couldn’t find information memories they have to look at hologram of palpatine sidous I bet the empire will use dooku money to do fundraising to complete the Death Star
The first world Dooku plundered was his own
So good to see Tech getting so much spotlight! Echo too to a slightly lesser extent
They still couldn’t find information memories they have to look at hologram of palpatine sidous I bet the empire will use dooku money to do fundraising to complete the Death Star
Good episodes.
Hope to see more of Tech and Echo this season
Thank you.

Love your content. My go to channel 4 SW period!
Also interesting narratively because Wilco is short for Will Comply.
i will interesting character Love the Indiana Jones moment between Echo and Omega near the end. But that's a turning point of clones being seen as a liabilities to the Imperial military even more The most interesting character moment in these two episodes came from Crosshair, who was not even in them. The fact Rampart genuinely thought Clone Force 99 was dead means that Crosshair did not rat them out to the Empire after Kamino That ending with Rampart tells me that Crosshair definitely lied about the Batch being dead in season one which is setting him up for a very interesting arc if that's actually the case. If true, now Rampart knows that Crosshair lied which would put him in a lot more danger.
To me, Bad Batch is a fun show, with an assortment of really cool references and happenings, and these episodes were not any different. I thoroughly enjoyed them. :)
i honestly thought they'd find dooku's cabinet of lightsabers like in dark disciple
They still couldn’t find information memories they have to look at hologram of palpatine sidous I bet the empire will use dooku money to do fundraising to complete the Death Star
That scene of the container hanging off the edge with all the valuables in it MUST have been an Italian Job reference. I refuse to believe otherwise.
As much as I love Andor, it was good to get back into some fun and campy Star Wars again.
Loved the connections he found in Bad Batch back to Andor
I was terrified that tech was going to die when he had the turret firing at him. The music even sounded ominous.
What I wanna know is where’s Gonkie?
And R.I.P Captain Wilco........at least for now???* 🤔
He fell like 200m, he isn't coming back
Speaking of being "dropped in the middle of a story" Disney Plus slightly glitched on Bad Batch as I was trying to watch it, and it started Ep2 "Ruins of War" before I'd seen Ep1 "Spoils of War". I was briefly confused, but I knew Star Wars could drop me in the middle of an action sequence with no explanation, so I went along with it. It wasn't until Omega referenced something from Ep 1 that I finally caught on to the glitch, but the episode was practically over by then.
A awesome review! And I think season 2 is going to be very good! I do like where the storyline is going!
Thanks for the vídeo!! 😄👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻
Shows how much dooku feel to the darkside. Being corrupt like his father and stealing from his own people to find a fake war so opposite of his days as a jedi in ep 2 of tales of the jedi
Yoda is the hiding from the empire champ no one found him 😎
In my personal head canon, Captain Wilco's first name is Roger!

The bad batch feels pretty similar to Andor but threw the eyes of a child so no whiplash
wrecker did not pickup a part of the AATs cannon, im pretty sure its one of the 6 rocket launchers one the bottom of the tank powered by the powerpack he ripped from the tank
I’ve noticed my favorite episodes in this series have good Echo moments.
Isn’t the clone at the end technically still following orders by not fabricating the report? Fabricating a report would be against regulations, and something a “bad Solider” who wasn’t willing to deviate from standard procedure would do. I saw this as the clone continuing to be super observant of the rules & regulations.
Yeah that’s how I saw it
I'd sort of thought that Wilco subtle change in demaner when the admiral asked him to change his report was possibly the chip kicking in and making him follow protocol to a T. A paperwork version of "Good soldiers follow orders".
Maybe that's just me?
I loved the two episodes. But I'd be lying if I said I don't miss seeing a light saber and the force theme...

I love echo development, he’s one of my favourite clones and I think we really need to see more of him. That being said if they could actually give him a real hand with a scomp addition then they probably would have a better time with some stuff
One thing I found interesting was that the Batch would only use their guns on stun when fighting the clones.
I never thought I would hear Wanda Sykes in a Star Wars show it crazy
Echo and omega's bond becomes stronger.
Him saying "I know, I'll do it" and then killing Wilco means Rampart anticipated that response, knowing clones won't follow an anti-order 66 order .
one thing i find rather funny is the show depicing our heros as only using stun shots but then recker just goes full on murder spree with his big gun
They only kill if they're about to be killed themselves, which is fair tbh
So, Captain Wilco ...
-- the band Wilco has an album titled "Star Wars." Could this be a hollaback?
-- in old-school CB radio lingo, "WilCo" means "will comply." As in, "roger, wilco, over and out ...."
Rip Captain Wilco
Speaking of "Indiana Jones film"...you got your temple idol on the shelf.
“Wilco” = shorthand for “will carry out”, as in orders
Great start to season 2. Love this show.
It's great for the Bad Batch to return.
And poor Wilco.
What happened to the Clone Zone of season two?
I can't find it anymore
