@@garysadventuresandtreasure2806 I have recieved 120watt power brick from iceriver. Is it safe to upgrade the firmware and does this shorten the life of the miner?
@@KaranBhawnaniSini I would personally not have a problem running it with any 120 watt power supply. What will lessen the life of the miner is excessive heat so if I were you I would buy a 120mm fan for your ks0 if your going to overclock. I found one on Amazon for 10 dollars and it works great. There are many videos on TH-cam about how to do this. It’s not really necessary in the stock configuration, but if your going to overclock I highly recommend it.

I have read about people who restarted the KS0 miner after overclocking. I was able to reproduce the whole thing on one of my miners. It is a thermal problem! Since there are manufacturing differences I have my Miner times considered and a very important point is, the front and rear panel! This should not be directly at the bottom of the counter-screwed base plate, there should be a gap of about 0.5mm wide (fingernail thickness) so that an air circulation can take place here! Because this is important so that the Xilinx processor is cooled well. In my Miner which is restarted at a certain temperature, I have therefore the front and rear panel below grinded off about 0.5 mm and since then no reducible restart!
I bought and have 3 200mm Thermaltake fans on top blowing out. Saw a video that it was the more efficient way. I wonder if it's the thermal paste if it has that internally thar is.
My biggest concern was that I might shorten the lifespan of my unit, but the hash rate is increasing so quickly that in a few months it won't matter if I have a working miner or not. The time is running out to effectively mine with a KS0, and a 50% improvement is worth much more today than extending the lifespan of the miner when the network hash rate is much higher. I'm at 155 GH/s now at 57c and a 3% rejection rate.
Is the l8nk to eclipse not working for anyone else? Comes up with an error when I follow the eclipse link. Takes me to the site but errors out there saying file is not available currently.

My KS0 came with the Lite-On 120w Power Supply. incidrthreat indicated that 120w is the bare minimum, so I'm curious if anyone has used a 120w power supply without issue? Did you try it? I'm interested to know also. I'd imagine it would ask the psu for 120watts and the psu would only give it 90 watts (its max) which is still higher than stock 65/70watts. So I'm thinking as long as you got a fan on the psu to keep it cool there should be a slight increase. I'd guess ~120gh if 120watts is getting ~160gh, but Idk exactly what is changed in the firmware or if it would behave like I'm thinking.
I got five of mine with 120W PSU and two with 90W. Clocked those of 120W an hour ago - all running at 160GH stable. I also added 140M fans(yes with one screw only) on top and cut the red package foam from miners to lift them off the ground(8cm) for less resistance of airflow - highest temp 59 vs lowest 49.
