As a person who was born and raised in Madagscar, but is now abroad, I love watching these kinds of videos from people who have actually visited the country and who know what they are talking about. I love that despite not being native or being second generation they try to educate and raise awareness, and although there are things that seem obvious, like being polite or not taking photos just because people smile at them, they're people who believe that because they are in a poor country with little schooling, Malagasy and its culture can be treated as a frivolous tourist attraction.

When I studied Madagascar wildlife, I came across the carnivorous fossa; an animal that preys on everything from paultry to even beg lemurs. In Madagascar, eating fossa is a taboo or a fady, if you will. To add to your list of don'ts is: don't eat a fossa . Due to the belief that Fossa scavenges on the bodies of ancestors buried in shallow graves in the forest, in many parts of the island it is strictly prohibited to eat these animals. Nice videos la santina, and miss Madagascar.

There are BFV-Societe Générale Atms in all city's and large towns in Madagascar. All S-G Atms take Mastercard, visa card, American express, Diners club. you do not need to only bring cash. The exchange rate via the atm is much better than a money exchange place which there are few.
