Beautiful video. I just returned from Nosy Be and I can tell that reality is a little bit different. I assume that 90% of inhabitants have NOTHING except a t-shirt, shorts and flip-flops. The average house is a hut made of palm leaves. No electricity, no running water, nothing. I saw not a single gas station and I also didn't find any on Google Maps - they simply use PET bottles to fill up thousands of tuktuks. Still, the people are quite friendly and there is obviously low criminality rate there. Nosy Be is the "luxury tourist island" but don't forget that Madagascar is one of the poorest countries in the world.
Hello I'm going to Nosy Be in February and I was wondering if you had a guide there and if so would you still have his contact details? Thank you very much for this wonderful video!
Yep. Just avoid walking alone in the night in big cities ( Antananarivo, Toamasina , etc) . In the island of Nosy Be , it is completely safe even if you walk at 02 or 03 am after enjoying a party in Ambatotoloka . Same for the city of Diego Suarez / Antsiranana
I googled what the main city looks like. It looks really dangerous but of course you have to stop there to start your trip. Is it dangerous ???? Did you see anything or did anyone try and take something you have ??
You can avoid the capital city (Antananarivo) by travelling with Ethiopian Airlines ( via Adis Abeba : Adis Abeba/ Nosy Be) or with South African Airways/ Airlink ( via Johannesburg: Johannesburg/ Nosy Be) or with Air Austral ( via Paris & Reunion Island : Reunion Island / Nosy Be)
Hey! If you're only planning to visit Nosy Be, you can skip Antananarivo and fly directly to Nosy Be. However, I did spend time exploring the capital, and nothing happened. As with any destination, it's important to stay aware of your surroundings, but I never felt scared. Another TH-cam video is coming online today where I mentioned my time in Antananarivo as well.
@sindyexplores Let's say that Antananarivo is "special " for people who had never travelled outside of Europe or "western countries " in general! It s great that you appreciated Antananarivo. Most travellers would like to skip Tana
