I also got my moneys worth in a Hertz C7 Z06 I purposely rented for a track day at Thunder Hill, CA on a $420 single day rental from SFO. I think I put four and a half tanks of fuel in the thing during its 460 mile 24 hour rental period. The guy who inspected it rubbed at the hot track rubber on the body work, felt the tires and said "Looks like you tamed the beast😉"

I had the same part break on my 15yr old Toyota. I bought the replacement part on Amazon for $8 & fixed it myself. By the way, the guy that rented this car, used it the way it was suppose to be used, nice job!

According to the app they were acceleration alerts, not speed alerts. It showed a 0 for those. It looks like he just floored it from every stop light in NYC.
If a car does 0-60 in 4 seconds it does 15mph acceleration per second. I don't know the specific car but 9 mph per second doesn't seem too outlandish- though hitting that repeatedly that many times is pretty badass
I don't know about not being able to speed through NYC, I made it from Tarrytown to Fort Lee in about 25-30 mins at 515pm on a Wed, ppl were jumping out of the road seeing an H2 launching airborne through Yonkers and Harlem trying to get there before 6pm to save a motel reservation, still have the cell video somewhere blasting the remix of Bob Marleys greatest hits.
I think the best part is the irony, you think ok one tank of gas, cap won't open, what could go wrong..... Oh the most insane stop and go driver alive takes it....
If I had a rental company, I guess I would be okay with people driving my cars hard, but I'd be bummed if they don't let the car warm up properly which I'm sure a guy like this wouldn't care less about something like that, is there a way to limit revs during warmup time, and would you consider doing that ?
i used to work for sarekon gps units we shold talk about the tech. i can give you info as i was also a dev eng and code eng. i had to test the function of the unit and we know thats not legal lol. but can tell you way more.

@@danielmccaffrey7741 Just 4 of the hotel nights are 900 euros a night, my company offers LUXURY experiences. I effectively fill a spot which lowers the general overhead on the other spots, and provides an experience to someone who otherwise wouldn't be able to do it.
You also have to take into consideration that its a city u consume more gas due to stop lights and traffic. When I hit New York my gas starts to deplete like nothing due to all the bs traffic and from stopping and going.
I've never seen that much respect for a customer in Rob's eyes before. He did what Rob would do. Kudos.

8.5mph/sec acceleration really isn't that much in 2023...it's a 7 second 0-60 time. A 4 cylinder Camry does 0-60 in 7.3 seconds, the V6 in 5.8.
