WITH 45 years between them, a husband and wife are used to getting looks wherever they go - especially because they have a two-year-old son. It’s not uncommon for people to mistake 25-year-old Stefani’s husband for her father. Don is 70 years old, the same age in fact as Stefani’s late father. But the unlikely couple, from Armstrong, British Columbia, Canada, have been together for five years, married for a year and a half and share two-year-old-son Lachlan. While they have the full support of family now, Stefani admits her family were concerned about her settling down with someone so much older - aside from the judgement they receive when out in public. How long would Don be around for his family?

Perhaps better to say, "Wow, how wonderful that this little boy gets to have a father who is present and attentive to him and his mother." Because that's what this little boy has.
The average lifespan is about 75. They are just being realistic. With that said, the child is lucky to have a dad who is loving and present. He at least gets that for maybe 10 yrs which is more than some children have.

Statistically speaking a boy is a lot more likely to lose his father to divorce, prison, car crash, drug overdose or just plain neglect of responsibility than for this boy to lose his father to old age any time soon.
My husband is 20 years my senior and we've been together 15 years... I used to worry a lot about the age thing but we really all only have today.
My husband is an incredible provider, protector, father and my very best friend.
We live an absolutely incredible life together. I can't imagine what my life would be had I not followed my heart.

Putting the age gap totally aside, just her personality and outlook is incredible, she was a super practical and matter-of-fact dater. And as far as her side of the family not warming up to the idea, and then being happy, it proves that women can marry literally anyone, as long as they give their parents at least one grandchild. At her age back then (20) very few guys wanted to get married and start a family right away, and she did, so she did, and that's it.

It’s not even the age difference that is really the issue, it’s that the age gap between them is so large that this girl is guaranteed to end up caring for him as well as their child in the next few years and will be a widowed single mother at a very young age as well. She’s all “loud and proud” about it now while he’s still got all his faculties, but he’s going to have significant health deterioration soon.
Their son is going to grow up watching his dad become less and less capable of things and then eventually die; he’ll be lucky if that doesn’t happen before he hits his teens.
It’s just selfish and irresponsible really; predominately on his part as the older of the two.. he shouldn’t have let her get herself into this situation knowing what lies ahead for her. You can even tell how immature she is when she says “don’t you dare die in your sleep, I’d be so mad”.. like that’s a VERY real possibility, honey 😅 it doesn’t sound like she’s really thought about that situation happening for real.

I'm going on 66 and am in the beautifullest relationship of my entire life with a 35 year old man. I wasn't looking for such to happen, and it does cause me worries (my youth and time are running short, I'm aware of this...but for the moment I look and feel 20 years younger, I don't drink, nor smoke and have always had a healthy lifestyle ). He doesn't know my birth year but he's guessing I might be his parent's age 🤣🎃😂😂😂 ha ha ha... I try living in the present moment. Too bad I don't get to see him much, as he works a lot and lives in the city. Hopefully I'll succeed finding an apartment soon nearer to him.. Although by car I'm only 30 minutes away. We are twin flames as it feels, it's a rare relationship.

Is life even fair to those who are left at adoption centers/ foster centers at an age that they know what's going on? No it isn't, life ain't fair. What matters here is that he cared for his son till the end of his life. They look and sound like a happy couple and the kid is happy. I know friends of mine who lost their parents at a young age, who were left in adoption centers and those who ended up with step parents, they live for those who mean/meant a lot to them and for themselves; they are the most loving people I've ever met.

So my uncle is 82 and his girlfriend is 27, they have been living together for 5 yrs. They all thought she was a gold digger. He got really sick and she took care of him everyday. Two yrs later she got severely sick, had a surgery a he took care of her by her bed day and night many months. A good match, odd one but good one.

My mother did this...had my little sister is 2010, shes 10 this year...my step father is old, 75 dying from alzheimers and my mothers health has gone majorly downhill (my mother is 50).. I think this is great. My wonderful amazing husband was 20 years older than me. Now I am 71 years young and I am starting to see someone who is 60 . He was the one that noticed me. He sits behind me in church. He knows I love to praise the Lord with dance in church. He still accepts me. My husband would be happy for me. Being a Mom and a wife to someone who loves you for who you are is the greatest high anyone can achieve. I personally feel the young men of this generation can't give a young woman a good life. They are too busy being selfish and controlling. They don't even want to raise children, but they have no problem making them. Older men are done with that part of their life! They are ready to settle and just be the best man they can be. They are financially stable and responsible, and they have had their time to play around. So ya, thus relationship isn't abnormal. I hear you. I'm about to be 30 this spring. My husband is 64. He has been sick for many years with me as a caregiver, but the last couple months things have taken a serious turn. I still try to hold on to hope but he is in pretty severe heart failure and it's probably only a matter of time. I have many regrets in life but he is definitely not one of them. I only wish we had been able to do more together, and that we had more time together

I married someone 26 yrs older than me, but it was a second marriage and I was 37. It didn’t work because I had two young children and he was jealous of them, especially my eldest son. We were together three yrs and then I’d had enough of it, so I ended it. He became very controlling and jealous because he was insecure of the age gap himself. I wasn’t, the issues were his. My family weren’t happy and his daughter became jealous and stopped being friendly with either of us. I regret the marriage now but that doesn’t mean this situation is the same. Don seems a very balanced man.

I do not see her as being aggressive. She just knows what she wants and she is unashamedly going after it.
