The CHAdeMo adapter is a really good thing to have, BUT it costs the outrageous price of $602 + tax ($680 here in Ontario)

Yeah, it’s not an option for everyone. It makes more sense if you had no charging at home. There are other areas that seem to have more CHAdeMo stations than Tesla Superchargers which also makes it a good reason for some.

I’m from Beijing. I have a Model Y and don’t have a home charging. still feel quite convenient, coz there are superchargers everywhere in my city. Just wonder why is there only one supercharger in Calgary and is not located in downtown? This will reduce the number of potential consumers of tesla.

Agree completely! Supposed to get one more soon, but not in downtown unfortunately 🙁. I have no idea why.

call me in a decade when it makes sense. Western Canada needs -30 or bust 'cause that's the temperature for multiple weeks a year.

This really does prevent me from going electric. Up north in GP there isn't a single DCFC (no Supercharger, CHAdeMO or CCS). The nearest is in Edmonton 500kms away. Forget trying to get to Edmonton in the dead of winter (unless you want to stop at an RV park in the middle for a bunch of hours).
Most of Alberta is a DCFC desert.

Definitely need infrastructure to go electric!

@@RockyMountainTesla Because Alberta got oil , that’s the reason they don’t want you go electric

Norway has oil, not an issue there 🤷‍♂️

@@RockyMountainTesla Different province of Canada have different mind set , and in Alberta, you can feel that government doesn’t what you go electric, look at the infrastructure, how many super charger we have , even the public charger , I know people live in here is really old school , Cause I moved from Vancouver. A lot of people here didn’t even know what is hybrid vehicles:( ( I drive hybrid sienna )

If you click the link in the description it will use my referral code. GST of 5% on purchase price on base white model 3 of 52,990. There is also a 5,000 EV credit that will reduce the total payment.

Also, the adapter is a good fit for road trips right? West of Calgary? I remember a reference to CHadEMO on some Canadian EV vids. #imisshockey

    Hi from Calgary!
    Thanks for sharing the information
I am planning to buy Modle3 SR+ (430km) within month but my downtown condo(heated underground parking) does not have any charging station.
I have some questions regarding your tesla experience.
    1. During extremely cold winter condition such as -20, -30, what range should I expect from full charging, 350km or 300km?
    2. Have you had any difficulties on icy or snowy road with RWD(snow tire)?
3 From tesla charging map, Tesla will build Supercharger downtown this year. do you have any timeline for it?
    Thanks in advance!

      1. Distances can vary because of temperatures and speeds. You will get better by 5% because of the heat pump. Worst case in city driving: th-cam.com/video/UUz6-0D1pPM/w-d-xo.html better on the highway: th-cam.com/video/9NRjzAGVwgQ/w-d-xo.html and a whole bunch of weather related data on our google site: sites.google.com/rockymountaintesla.ca/rockymountaintesla/home/data-sharing
      2. Check one of our more popular videos that answers this pretty well th-cam.com/video/8Z3G5hSiTZY/w-d-xo.html
      3. Calgary Superchargers keep getting delayed. That in part influenced my idea about the charging adapter. That and another business idea I’m working on.

    another Calgarian here!
Have you tried downtown CPA destination charger(17kw) McDougall Parkade - Lot 28 tesla destination charger? or any destination charger(17kw) in downtown?
If yes, what speed(kwh) did you get?

    • @RockyMountainTesla
      @RockyMountainTesla  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Thanks for commenting! With the SR+ the maximum I can get is about 7 kW. I park at McDougall Parkade some weekend mornings if we don’t need to drive anywhere that morning. $2 is a pretty cheap fill up price 😎
