    BE CAREFUL GUYS! The bolts holding the wheel bearing in place (T60 times 4) according to video maker needs to be tightened to 80 Nm but according to BMW manuals it's 80 Nm + 90 degrees angle. This can lead to seriously dangerous situations!!

      Thanks for adding that we must turn (tighten) to an additional 90 degrees.
      Thanks for pointing that out.

    Nice video! may use the same technique for jacking your car up. What is that sheet of metal/or wood you are using for the trolley jack ?

    what’s the name of the of tools you used and where to buy them? Does this work for 7 series F01 as well?

      @hyde_official  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Spiz, all the tools I used are in the description (below) of the video. You have to expend to see that if you're watching it from a mobile phone. If there is a tool missing in the description, please mention below with a timestamp so I can add that in the description.
      . The links I added are specifically for F30 series how ever, the good thing with FCP Euro is that you can search thru their catalogue of items for 7 series.

    Hey boss, I replaced both wheel bearings , new akebono pads , rotors as well , but I still have a terrible humming noise when braking , turning , slowing down , speeding up , could it be the control arms or sway bar links causing this? Thank u for any info

    • @hyde_official
      @hyde_official  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If turning also causes the noise, that sounds like a power steering failure. Work your way up: start with checking the control arm. I doubt about the sway bar unless you previously touched it, then check it.
      Lift up the car and do a manual test of the wheel. See if there is any play. Check any loose bolts 🔩.
      Modern, check the break fluid level.

    Hey boss what size are the hub screws ? I didn’t get the 4 screws for each hub when I ordered am not sure what is the updated size for them

    • @hyde_official
      @hyde_official  ปีที่แล้ว

      The size should be the same if the part number is exactly as in the video. You should be ok to reuse the theme, but the center bolt is the one you want to avoid reusing.

    • @hyde_official
      @hyde_official  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      ah, you have to replace the cv axle bar since that's where the bolt grips. I wouldn't recommend doing the thread insert.

      What is the trick to remove the shaft bolt? I already removed my brakes and rotor, I see you are using something to wedge in to prevent it from turning?

    • @hyde_official
      @hyde_official  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      that's correct. Put back the rotor and the caliper/caliper bracket. find a strong steel or strong thick screwdriver, put inside one of the vent holes of the rotor. make sure it blocks the rotor from turning in the direction of loosening up the shaft bolt.
      alternatively, you can use a high torque impact driver air or cordless doesn't matter, but it must be high torque rated.

    • @Reeltinyphish
      @Reeltinyphish 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Im guessing my torque wrench isnt powerful enough. I will try the rotor trick :) thank you!

    • @Reeltinyphish
      @Reeltinyphish 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Was able to get it all swapped out! Pro tip, with wheel on car, remove cap on rim and you can easily set the cv bolt to correct torque.

    Hi, why not just replace the bearing? Thanks

    • @hyde_official
      @hyde_official  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      For F30 models and mostly all BMW, the wheel bearing is assembled with the hub. With all thing considered, you're well off replacing the entire bub assembly. If you're only doing the bearing and reusing the hub, in my view this requires more labor and would probably cost you more. You have to remove and replace the bearing (you must use the correct tools).
      Additionally, in this scenario, since I never had the wheel stud conversion, the thread of the hub got damaged therefore an entire hub assembly replacement was the best option.
      Ultimately, I'd still recommend replacing the full Hub Assembly over doing only the wheel bearing specially for an xDrive vehicle.

    • @hyde_official
      @hyde_official  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is a great question. It's by design by BMW. So make sure you get the correct part number. I initially bought the wrong part, which didn't have the center screw. I returned it and went to get the correct part for my car. I listed the part# for the AWD in the video description. Check out realoem dot com for the correct part number of your year/model.
