    It's exactly the same process as on the X5 e70.
    Applicable to 2007-2013. Great video.

      I'm doing the front wheel bearing on my e70 X5 2010 and the bolts/bearing are the 12 x1.25 mm. The torque for these bolts is ? 120nm + 90 degrees? Thanks for confirming . All of the FCP videos are great.

    For my 2011 x5 50i, the same process but a couple notes: the wheel hub bolts on the original are XZN heads, the kit comes with the t60 Torx heads, so make sure to have XZN sockets on hand. My brake slide pins were a 9mm Allen head, not a 7mm...and ONLY a 9mm will work, so head to NAPA and grab that right ow because it isn't in whatever kit you have on hand. Otherwise, it's the same process. For fitting the new hub onto the axle, you can use some compressed air in a can (aka computer dust) and turn it upside down and freeze the axle spline, shrinking it just enough to make fitment possible.

    It's never a bad idea to do a 4 hub changeover at 120000 miles. You realize how much the wheel hubs affect handling, noise, vibration,smooth braking,and safety. X5 is a heavy vehicle with high bearing load, especially with dynamic drive.

    Very informative video. Could you do a front wheel bearing video on an E83 X3? I understand that it is a more involved process than what you did here.

    lol. we humbly thank you for these. Regarding the rear wheel bears those are a bit of a PITA. Any chance that's coming soon?

    What year did BMW change from the XZN "Triple Square" to the Torx bolts for these front hubs?

    Most covered BMW repairs guide on TH-cam I think. I have been looking for this procedure with BMW X3 F25 rear. Have you covered it as well?

    Great video! You mentioned that pulling the axle back through the hub using the axle nut was kind of a no-no. in the past, I've threaded the nut on to the axle and gently pulled the axle through the hub using claws and a slide hammer, and I said gently :-) Why do you think that that's a no-no?

    Would you have a video on replacing the motor mount for a 2016 bmw 535i?

    I use Noxudol 700 on hubs to stop the rust.

    My axel will not push back from the hub. I tried pounding it, and using a 3 jaw hub puller but no dice. Am I missing something or is it possible this thing is super rusted on ?

    • @fcpeuro
      @fcpeuro  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      it can be admittedly EXTREMELY stubborn, just ensure when pounding it you arent in fact mushrooming the head of the axel, as that will cause it to become a bit more stuck than it may already be(always hit it with the nut still on). IT could certainly be well rusted in there, have you sprayed any penetrant?

    How do you know when the bearings are bad?

    • @zildog
      @zildog ปีที่แล้ว

      Jack your car up and wiggle the wheel north and south. If there is any play/movement at all, the bearings are shot.

    • @honorablewiz7447
      @honorablewiz7447 ปีที่แล้ว

      not necessarily....honestly your wheel bearing or hub can go bad and have different symptoms
      typical you would here some sort of noise to start with. there could be play in the wheel not all the time.. if there is play make sure it coming from the bearing. I have to change mine because the lug bolts hole are stripped causing my wheel not to drive like a bad alignment when turning

    What Torque Wrench do you recommend for a 420 NM job? Great video!

    • @fcpeuro
      @fcpeuro  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      For something with that high of a NM, we always suggest the GearWrench 3/8 drive bean torque wrench. We carry this on our website and can be found by searching GRW-2956N!

      @davvo87 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@fcpeuro Hi. The model you suggested only goes to 100NM. Pretty far away from 420....

    You should really be wearing a mask when you clean the corroded surfaces. Not good for the lungs.
    Great vid otherwise.
