My thoughts exactly on wishing Vic would add a saw to this, or actually a file to the Farmer X, to create a Ranger alox. That would be great to carry with Knipex or other pliers, maybe even a separate bit driver as well, if you want the full Monty.
@@RiderOftheNorth1968 Yep and also as a 5 layer alox it would only be the same thickness as a 4 layer celidor SAK such as the Huntsman, because alox scales are thinner. My Farmer x is the same thickness as my 3 layer Climber.
@@simonh6371 That´s the sweet thing with the Farmer X: it is actually very slim for the amount of tools you get. A fifth layer would not be too bulky imho.
Why did they call it the mountaineer? The only tool appropriate to the mountains is the one blade. I still take the German Army SAK to the field/mountains. I was given it when attending the German Bundeswehr Mountain School in the early 1980's and it's still going strong (although I have bought a backup since). My Grandfather served in the Italian Alpinis in WWI, and carried a SAK. He gave it to me in the 1960s. Unfortunately, it was lost before the 1980's.
me: Quick, I need a knife! Stewie: *goes into lockdown while he sorts through exactly which knife has exactly the tools to solve this situation* You're right about the ranger. Love my spyders and it's a spyderco with more tools.
Beautiful alox SAK! Thanks for sharing!!!
Thanks for the view and support.
Happy Sunday Stewie, thank you for the new video.

I'm curious as well but, that is the name. Thanks for the view and comment.
Nice.
Bummer there is not some sort of “Build your own” option from Victorinox
That would be an awesome idea. Probably too pricey to run a customs show in today's economy. I'm sure you could find someone to built it though.
