I honestly couldn't believe when you said "if your talented, clearly I'm not" . I understand that you meant regarding beading, but it just struck me as a funny comment b/c you are so very clearly talented!
Please note.... you can totally make these with what you already have in your craft hoard ... in no way do you need to use my kit... I'm sharing an idea you can take and make with anything you already have .. happy crafting xxx Amanda
I really liked this method. Have looked at other videos online and yours is simple but very pretty. I will be giving this a go. Unlike the other ways this is easy enough to teach my grandkids.
These charms are lovely. I don't do journals, so have never needed charms. I can see how they'd certainly be centre stage on a card or instead of a tassel on a special bookmark. I'm going to try some myself. 🌷🇨🇦🌷
Love this, thank you for the tutorial. A tip to help you to adhere small items together “straight”… use reverse tweezers. I find it much easier and this avoids the wonky off-center placement because otherwise your fingers make it hard to see the object you are handling.
@@Scrimpingmommy Sorry to hear you have bad hands. I have DeQueverain tenosynovitis (thumb & wrist issues) so I rely heavily on my reverse tweezers for gripping. I can’t use normal tweezers though for the same reason. We do what we must :-) And like you, I cannot do beading though I used to love making jewelry, but I love paper crafting!
Hello Scrimpingmommy! I love your latest video on how to make journal charms yourself! I'm big on DIY, and agree with you that it's better to make your own things rather than buying them. That way you can personalize your charms, and make them to suit what your theme is. I also love your "faux laminating" trick!! I'd have never have thought of using tape, and you are such a genius!! Thanks for the tips and tricks. Cheers! ~Janet in Canada 💖💖💗💗
Love them, so easy to adapt and super cute, pinched the idea of the Gold backing to use up some stickers I had laying around, they look super classy and usable now, that's a win, thank you Amanda 🥰
I smiled at the “ wonky” comment - I remember sewing a top where the stripes did not quite match. Friend said “ doesn’t matter, makes it look shop bought” since then, I haven’t cared so much about “ wonky” !
Great tutorial! Definitely want to try this. One thing you can do if you have trouble layering is put the layer on and then punch it out. Easier to center that way and then punch if that makes sense ☺️. I have trouble too so I try to minimize the wonkieness when I can.
yeah i do sometimes but these punches don't like too many layers the slot isn't wide enough to slide it in when using a few layers of card or I absolutely would have done that. These end up quite thick xx
Love these! I've made some using heat tape for duct work. It is silver, and It is quite pricey. I can't wait to try your idea! Thanks Amanda! Hugs 💞 Suzy
Omg I could listen to you all day. Makes me feel like I found a friend. I don't know why. You are very easy to listen to and learn from. Nothing pretentiousness here. Just good tutorial and easy to do. But I could not get the name of what you are using.....gold what? Lol. I'm 73 and I sometimes don't catch what people said...old ears. Ha. Thanks Amanda. I'm subbing right now. I need to see more of your work. Hang tight. You are so great....oooo ooo is it gold mirror board? I hope. Lol
So on U.K. we call it good mirror board yes .. just gold foil card. I have a string Yorkshire accent but folks get used to it the more they watch . Thank you so much for subscribing xx
Nice! I'm not good at centering either. I would glue the first circle down on the mirror cardstock and then use the second punch. Same with the next. That way it's easier to center.
You can do charms if you wanted they are defo not difficult x even use elastic for the beading and just tie it off and add a tiny bit of e6000 to the knot to stop it unraveling xx honestly so easy x
I’m very excited. I’m one if those that has to have the same “stuff “ as shown in the demo. I just finished watching the whale tail video for tabs and while I don’t have the tab punch (wish I did), I do have the 2” circle punch. I also have all of the punches mentioned to make charms and I have the foil and I have 6x6 craft paper sheets. I use soft suede to ink my edges and all of this makes me incredibly happy. I do need to order some of those pins to hold the charms.
WOW fabulous journal charms Amanda 🥰 I love your designs, your tutorial and I think you are so talented and you have amazing ideas ❤️ thanks for sharing your creativity Hugs xx
These are fabulous Amanda, I know what I will be doing for mine now. To get the layering effect I would have to do them in rectangles and a little bit larger than yours thank you. I am glad I am not alone with the wonky eyes, and beading. My brain goes haywire when it comes to beading, jump rings and clasps etc. lol I am really enjoying your channel Amanda, I do watch at night when I cant sleep. I love the handbags you made quite a few years ago now and got them stored on Pinterest to make for my 2 yr old granddaughter Christmas and her next birthday. Have a great weekend. ❤❤❤❤
Love the kit! I'm still watching but right away I'm thinking of covering the images with crystal glaze. No idea if you gonna do it but I feel like going to my room and try😅
Yeah I use tape as it’s cheap and dries fast but other people use glossy accents etc. I can’t do that without getting bubbles plus it takes like five centuries to dry ha ha ha xx
These are just great. Definately going to try them and WOW im in love with your beaded pokey tool. Did you make it and have you got a tutorial on it? Thanks hun x
