  • I chose to use a torque spec of 25ft/lbs for the 14mm swing arm bolts in all 3 locations.
    15ft/lbs for the 6mm Allen bolts on the brake caliper.
    And 60ft/lbs on the axel nut.
    I just went by feel on the muffler bolts since my torque wrench wouldn’t fit.
    Enjoy!!!

    Hey from LA (lower Alabama) . I have a 2014 Burgman 200 and will need to change my rear tire before too long. This has been very helpful. I am continually amazed at this scooter and what it can do for it's engine size. Thanks

    From sg. Thanks for sharing! Our burgman FB riders had shared his rear wheel bearing wornt out and enlarged the rear hub slot for the bearing to seat. He had a wheel replaced. Think it's good to change out this bearing on opportunity. Hope this helps.

    So there is no gasket to replace from the exhaust? Just curious, would this be a good time to replace the brakes and what did your brakes look like after 5k miles?

    • @DirtRider22a
      @DirtRider22a  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Brakes looked fine, and I didn’t get a new exhaust gasket but never noticed and black on the plastic indicating an exhaust leak

    Do we know the spanner size for the main wheel nut ? I thought 21mm but was too small?

    • @DirtRider22a
      @DirtRider22a  ปีที่แล้ว

      I can’t remember for certain but my set goes to 22mm and then I have a 27mm, can’t remember what I bought the 27mm for so if 21mm is close then I would say it’s a 22mm, if 21 is not close at all I would say 27

    Excellent attentive details. Axle nut 87ft pounds/ 120nm. The two bolts from swing arm into aluminum do not have torque shown or listed in the Service Manual - surprisingly.

    • @josephbingham1255
      @josephbingham1255 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      p.s. The Allen bolts on the brake caliper torque is 19ft lbs/26nm. so your 15 pounds was very close.

      pps an option. Take out the exhaust connector bolt and expand the clamp. Remove the three muffler bolts. THEN the muffler can be rotated onto the ground without removing it from the seal at the exhaust connector point.

    Good video,my wheel has little gap back and forth,when i spin it with my hand to the front and to the back it has little play there,left and right is tight no play,is that normal ?

    • @DirtRider22a
      @DirtRider22a  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think so, the wheel is splined and the axle shaft is as well so there has to be a little play in that splined fit so the wheel goes on and off easily. As a machinist I didn’t notice it to be an excessive amount on mine.

    Hey @DirtRider22, I was trying to fill my burgman 200 rear tire up with air, but it's a bit hard to get to the cap. The front wheel is easy, but how do I access the rear wheel air cap better?

    Did you find what the torque settings are for the 14mm bolts? I used to run those Michelin tyres on scooters they are great all weather tyres, but the tread running around the tyre in that way used to catch every nail and screw on the roads, so I stopped using them and went for the Bridgestone battle axe tyres, I’ve not had any punctures yet,

    • @DirtRider22a
      @DirtRider22a  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Not an official torque spec but the specs I used are also listed in the description and I never had any issue 👍

  • @Truthseeker71
    @Truthseeker71 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Did you not have to balance the wheel with weights? Maybe since the wheel diameter is so small it is not needed?

    • @DirtRider22a
      @DirtRider22a  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I normally do on all my other bikes but the rear wheel has splines on the inside diameter to mate with the axel shaft so balancing the old school way wouldn’t work, just sticking it on a shaft and letting the heavy side rotate to the bottom. So I didn’t bother, never felt any vibrations after the tire change that weren’t there prior to changing so I didn’t worry about it
