I was hoping it would be in the author's notes. While I was initially disappointed, I had a giggle as soon as I got to the trick section. "Sparkle Storage" has got to be the silliest technical term I have seen used to describe a videogame maneuver. Quality game design 👌
When I was a little boy back in the 90s we rented this game once because the box looked cool and as kids go I kind of liked MJ, I liked Elvis too and not too long back Elmo. Well, the damnedest thing started happening back in 96' the weekend after my mother rented me this game and a copy of Ecco from the grocery store up the street. I'm going to get dressed that morning and I'm going to tell my friend Ben about the monster boss in Ecco the Dolphin when I noticed a copy of Michael Jackson's Moonwalker inside my undies. My mom used to roll my clothes up as a kid but this time when I unrolled my underwear a copy of that game just falls out onto the carpet. My mother thought I had stolen the game but I was able to make her believe me the first time that I had not taken it from the store, only the game kept coming back, onetime it was on the floor of the bathtub. I think that game was haunted!
Kind of an odd reply to a dumb comment but if you must know that game touched me inappropriately, like when the drill nose robot molested Tails on a very special episode of Sonic the hedgehog. The early 90s had been a very turbulent time for Sega kids.
@@galloe8933 Drill Badnik... you mean Grounder? Also, how could a game sexually harras you? About the Trillernthing, there was this theory of Thriller being in one of the betas in the graveyard level, because that setting was perfect and they would've at least considered it, which they did. They had it as one of those dance fanfares that was exclusive to that graveyard level. It might be like how Sonic Spinball had those title screen and game over rendition they didn't have the rights for, except this was replaced much faster and wasn't fully replaced because of the dance fanfare
Spicy, the comment was not about finding a rare game cart with the song "Thriller" on it. It was about MJ being a child molester and then when you made that comment I decided to keep with the obscurity of the joke and referenced the episode of Sonic the hedgehog with the strange PSA where Tails exclaimed how the drill bot "Touched me inappropriately" figuring it had once been a MEME and that the reader would know what I was talking about. Even if not the show explicitly but Tails saying that he had been touched inappropriately has been around the internets long enough that it could be understood by many. I know why Moonwalker was made and why it sold, and besides there had been a lot of games that make little sense these days that had come out for the 16bit systems of the 90s. But you know more about them than I do, and that's cool. In any event the joke made a lot more sense when I first wrote it because it was within a year of the world coming to accept that MJ had in fact been a child molester and the accusations were not made up for the sake of trying to get money. That episode of Sonic though, I saw it when I was a kid and that line always stuck with me because of how out of place it seemed. PSAs where a thing back in the day because, I want to say GI Joe did it, which he did but I'm not sure if that cartoon started the trend or had copied it from another but the ones at the end of Sonic were at times a reach. Dude, if you didn't like the joke, that's fine but I did not mean to upset you. I know a lot about games too, only my knowledge means little these days because of the internet. Now you don't learn, you ask the internet and get your answers without really having to look for it, and that's cool too because I would have loved being able to know the things I knew without having to work to find an answer to a question that in all honesty no one is going to ask, even moreso now with smartphones being as augmentations of our brains. There is no room for "know it alls" anymore so I hung my hat up years ago but also, clearly not a kid so even if it still mattered, I'm past that part of my life anyway.
Alright....I tried playing this game as a kid and I didn't like it but watching it now, done this slick, is fun. The music rocks.....the sound effects a little annoying mostly the kid, but MJ being slick is dope.
Did you know the government used Michael Jackson in their MK Ultra experiments? Ever noticed the stark difference was normal and then went crazy for some reason?
Things I would like explained to me: the monkey, the process through which the girls can fly, and Michael's Battle Plane. Seriously, though, please explain them.
Ah yes, Michael Jackson definitely fought zombies and what I can only imagine would be a gang to save little girls while dancing to his own music
Have you watched the 2nd half of Moonwalker? XD
Yeah, he did.

What song played for the Woods levels?
"Another Part of Me", from the "Bad" album, because they had to replace "Thriller", which was not written by Michael.
