This does not help! I did everything right you mentioned and spoke with few attorneys and nothing worked. Even with evidence. I lost a job opportunity because the accuser called my job spewing lies about me and then I had to get police involved because the defamers went too far and they got a ton of people to harass me. Including my corner defamers who hopped on the bandwagon to bully me and threatened my life. The only thing helped was a detective was sent to the accusers and that stopped. But my legal rights was never resolved and I still have PSTDs from this. It’s been few years now. I’ve had this happened to me by several people in on separate occasions. I’m surprised I didn’t commit suicide! It still hurts to this day!

asking facebook to remove the posts seems like wasting a lot of time that could be spent immediately sending a cease and desist order.
In my experience, even cease and desist letters do not help. Some people truly believe they are above the law and moral standards. Such people exhibit anti social personality disorder, superiority complex, inferiority complex or in some instances, are in a cult. I know this from a background in psychology

What do you do, if whoever it is that is doing this is doing it secretly and you don't know what the content is that they are putting out about you? But you know from the behaviour and actions of others (people you know and strangers) that something really vile is out there about you?

What if you can't afford a PI? And what if you have illegal cameras in your home that is livestreaming online somewhere? I've had fake profiles made of me and did a screen record of the list that went on. They have since been taken down but the damage has been done. Local law hasn't done anything and I've been gaslit about the cameras in my home.

I tried to reach out about my defamation, but it seems nobody doesn't want to help, pretty much everything is done virtually which can have an impact on any court case, because I'm not there in person showing my evidence and how it emotionally effected me. What if what you've said is actually true and in the public's interest? When someone claims that 'This is a lie!", do you bother to check, or do you take their word for it? Do you contact the defaming party at all? Sometimes so-called 'defamers' are actually whistle-blowers informing the public of the truth and the 'poor defamed person' is simply playing innocent.
Sadly the law won't do much about it so you don't really have much options to be honest I've been given with the same issue with this exact issue for 6 years posting my kids me Pretending to be me I am a drug addict everything else Because it's jealous Because I used to date vex 6 years ago Like move on i have Over a 100 hate account made of me not much I can do
